Chapter 585 -584: A Fortunate Time

WHOOSH! WHOOSH!

The sound of several things cutting through the air reached his ears.

Colin, having entered his Sword Dance state, quickly leaped aside, nimbly dodging the flying stone blocks. The two stones grazed past his body, spattering brown mud across the ground.

The Hill Giant loosened the ropes holding the Dire Wolves, and two massive wolves, roughly the size of horses, immediately lunged forward.

The moment he felt his opponents enter Casting range, the blade in Colin’s hand began to tremble violently. The deep blue Magic Radiance around him twisted and split, so intensely that even a mortal with no experience in Magic could faintly see it.

The blood-absorbing blade was a piercing red—it was hard to tell if it was from the blood it had taken or from the high-speed vibrations.

[Instant Potency] and [Instantaneous Instant Cast] were simultaneously stacked on the same Magic.

Most Metamagic Techniques couldn’t be used on the same Magic at once, with potency-type Metamagic being the sole exception.

Colin twisted his wrist and began to concentrate, controlling the Magic Power in his armor.

White vapor rose from his [White Dragon Plate Armor] like white vipers, flowing down his arm to his sword and quickly condensing into a thin layer of White Frost.

After all this was done, Colin quickly looked at the five opponents before him.

In the next instant, Colin’s vision instantly shifted to the back of another Hill Giant’s neck. The sensation of this Teleport was very similar to using [Misty Step], only much faster.

The force from his waist transferred to his arms, then through the muscles in his arms to the hilt of his sword.

[Burning Blood] was unleashed.

A flower made of blood immediately blossomed on the back of the Hill Giant’s neck.

However, in the next instant, Colin’s view switched again to the back of another Hill Giant’s neck.

The rapid Teleportation made him a little dizzy, but he still gritted his teeth and swung his blade again.

After repeating this five times, Colin was finally teleported next to a Dire Wolf. However, the Dire Wolf before him had already been sliced in half at the waist, its sticky entrails spilling all over the ground.

BOOM!

A loud crash sounded. Colin suppressed the nausea from the Teleport and looked ahead.

The other Dire Wolf had also been cut in half, and the first Hill Giant to be struck had already collapsed, its massive, ugly head now rolling slowly on the ground.

“It hurts!” “My neck, my neck!”

The other two Giants clutched their necks and squatted on the ground, letting out earth-shattering roars.

Colin took a few gasps, trying hard to fight back the urge to vomit.

The power of this [Steel Wind Slash] itself already surpassed that of a Ghost, but its cost also exceeded all his other Magic.

Colin brandished his blade again.

Just then, the sound of footsteps came from behind.

Colin’s Magic was also ready. [Enlarge Person] was cast on Kase, who was charging forward.

With a CRACK of bones, the two-meter-tall Half-Orc began to grow rapidly, and within seconds, he had become a Giant nearly as tall as the two Hill Giants.

He swung his Giant Axe and violently knocked one of the Giants to the ground.

At the same time, a ball of fire flew to the top of the other Giant’s head. The exploding fireball engulfed his head and entire upper body, and the searing Flame consumed even the Giant’s agonized screams.

Colin brandished his weapon again.

The blade glinted coldly in mid-air as the surrounding Magic Net rapidly twisted and knotted. A dark green Magic Radiance flickered over his body before finally converging at the tip of his sword.

Then, the spell’s radiance transformed into a dark green Acidic Liquid Ball that flew toward the Giant, exploding on its chest.

The Hill Giant, still reeling from the blast of the [Fireball Technique], was immediately covered in acid. It collapsed in agony, struggling violently and sending dirty soil and stone blocks flying.

With a HISS, countless wisps of white steam rose up, and the Giant’s struggles grew weaker and weaker until it stopped moving altogether.

“Hah! I like this feeling!”

“Me… no like… feeling!”

Kase, who had already entered a [Frenzy], used the handle of his axe to parry the Giant’s swinging wooden stick, then swung back and buried his axe in his opponent’s chest.

The Giant lost its balance and fell heavily to the ground.

Having lost its advantage in size and Power, the Hill Giant was completely overwhelmed by Kase’s experience and skill—especially since it had already been viciously struck by one of Colin’s attacks.

Just then, Dorn suddenly appeared on the Giant’s shoulder.

He lunged at the Giant’s neck, then leaped back to the ground. Immediately, a thin red line of blood appeared on the Hill Giant’s throat. The Giant clutched its neck and collapsed, making a sharp, whistling sound like a broken bellows.

After a moment, the Giant twitched a couple of times and went completely still.

“I ain’t had enough fightin’ yet,” Kase grumbled, silently slinging the Axe onto his back.

He then looked down at Dorn on the ground, let out a couple of strange laughs, and his mood instantly improved.

Colin looked back to see the Recruits staring, dumbfounded, at the scene.

The Giants that had just been battering them into a stupor were now all corpses on the ground.

Three creatures nearly as tall as small windmills had been slaughtered without being able to fight back, and the Adventurer party that did it was completely unscathed…

“The Dragon Slayer…”

One of the Recruits who recognized Colin suddenly muttered the name, and the other Recruits immediately followed, cheering excitedly, “Dragon Slayer! Dragon Slayer! Dragon Slayer!”

“Er… excuse me,” Colin said, raising a hand. “I think we should help the injured first.”

After he spoke, the Recruits snapped out of it and began scrambling to help their comrades who had been knocked down by the Hill Giants.

A few Recruits untied the Giants’ sacks.

Several panicked villagers crawled out of the sacks, followed by a rush of startled poultry like chickens, ducks, and geese.

These must have been the villagers captured by the Hill Giants.

Judging by the fact that both villagers and livestock were stuffed into sacks, the Hill Giants’ promises were most likely a lie.

Colin glanced at the Giants’ corpses, but no one cared about that anymore.

“Hahaha, this is really my lucky day.”

A familiar voice reached his ears, and then it spoke again, “Hey, Mr. Colin, how are you all doing today?!”

Colin turned to look and was surprised to see that the source of the voice was Old Yaxi, sitting right next to one of the sacks.

Colin walked over and asked in surprise, “You were captured by the Hill Giants?”

“Yes, sir,” Old Yaxi said with a cheerful laugh. “I saw them from a distance when they were leaving the village, so I quickly let my ox go. They asked me for food, but all I had was an empty charcoal cart, so they threw me in a sack.”
