I Have a Sailing Game

Chapter 718 - 397: Remains of the Solar-Chasing Giant (2-in-1)

Within the boundary mist.

"Roar!"

A terrifying roar came from the center of the island, where two gigantic shadows intertwined, shrouded in a blur and forest, constantly colliding.

From the sound, it was evident that an intense battle was erupting between two giant entities on this island.

Meanwhile, at the edge of the island.

"Huff! Huff! Gasp..."

Vic and Fernar, both wounded, were desperately sprinting for their lives along the coast of the island, under the radiant moonlight that enveloped the silent island.

Behind them was a group of monsters with human bodies and snake tails, devoid of eyes but with large ears, weaving through the shadows of the island, chasing them at incredible speed, filled with murderous intent.

The monster behind Vic suddenly opened its bloody maw, diving into the shadow of a reef.

Roar—

The next second, it sprang out of Vic’s shadow, letting out a silent roar!

Damn!

Vic felt his scalp tingle, gritted his teeth, and with all his might, unleashed the Extraordinary Power within him. In an instant, the air beside him surged, blasting the monster away like cannon fire!

Boom!

The monster’s body flew back, hitting the ground with a loud crash.

But soon, the noise attracted the attention of the other monsters, who simultaneously turned their heads toward the source of the sound.

Then, a group of monsters emerged from the shadows, ignoring whether the fallen one was a kin, and savagely began to devour it, flesh flying everywhere.

However, Vic’s crisis was far from over.

The monster that had just attacked him was merely one of many. After its failure, more monsters quickly emerged from the shadows, pouncing at him again!

At this moment, Vic had only just finished using his Extraordinary Ability and had no time to use it again.

If he were to be hit solidly, at best he’d be gravely injured, if not killed.

In that split second, Vic quickly made a decision, using all his energy to dodge a fatal wound.

"Master of mystery and fear, Master of the Black Tide, I pray for your gaze, to carry me through the boundary of light and darkness..."

Just as he offered a subtle prayer, a hand grasped his shoulder.

The next moment, Vic and Fernar dived straight into the Black Tide ahead, disappearing from sight.

Splash!

The Black Tide surged, and the two reappeared on a small wooden boat.

Their faces were drenched in cold sweat, and their bodies were soaked through with it.

After confirming their surroundings and realizing they had distanced themselves from the monster island, they finally heaved a sigh of relief, the look of narrowly escaping death in their eyes.

"Congratulations, you’ve pulled through again by the skin of your teeth."

The black cat sat at the bow, commenting nonchalantly.

"Damn, almost got screwed on that damned island..."

Vic panted heavily.

Fernar’s face was equally pallid. He wiped the cold sweat off his forehead: "I told you there was something wrong with that island. How could there be no bird calls or insect chirps at night, not even the sound of the waves..."

They had been drifting in the boundary mist for more than two days now, and despite having special secret techniques to carry food, most of it was consumed.

Therefore, when they came upon this island, they decided to go ashore to seek food and supplies, hoping for a brief respite before continuing.

But unexpectedly, the island was teeming with endless terrifying monsters.

On the silent island, there was no sound, no living creature made a sound, not even the waves could be heard...

Once a sound was made, one would be relentlessly pursued by the shadow-walking monsters like before!

Indeed, Rogel, who had diverted part of his attention to observing them, realized that this was the same Isle of Deathly Silence that he had encountered before.

Isle of Deathly Silence: An island composed of death and silence. If you wish to survive on this island, remember one crucial piece of advice—stay quiet.

This place was clearly one of the hazardous regions within the boundary mist—certainly dangerous, if not utterly despair-inducing.

Rogel had chosen to bypass it in his time.

But Fernar and Vic, unlike him, had no means to discern the island’s dangers before disembarking...

"Phew..."

He exhaled deeply again, carefully wiping a black bottle, heartachingly eyeing a tiny crack on it.

"Thankfully, there’s the Bottle of Fear bestowed by the Master of the Black Tide..."

Among the two giant monsters on the island, one had originated from Fernar’s Bottle of Fear, a reward he had previously obtained.

The price of summoning a creature of fear from the Domain of the Black Tide was part of one’s rationality, making it a tremendously powerful Secret Treasure.

However, this object clearly had a durability limit.

Or, in other words, the creature of fear within had a "health bar."

The recent battle had injured the creature of fear, hence the corresponding crack on the bottle.

"...Thanks for before, Fernar."

Seeing Fernar’s heartache, Vic felt guilty.

Fernar shook his head after putting away the bottle.

"It’s nothing."

"But... are you sure about this hunch of yours? We’ve been drifting in the mist for so long and haven’t seen a trace of any giants chasing the sun."

"Don’t let it be that we can’t find the remnants and starve to death on this little broken boat instead."

Fernar couldn’t help but complain.

This guy kept saying he’d "felt it," "we’re close," "not far now," but despite searching for so long, they still hadn’t found anything.

Hearing this, Vic scratched his head awkwardly.

He also felt it was odd.

Clearly, the hunch suggested it was just ahead, but once a wave of mist rolled in and then dispersed, the guiding sense weakened again...
