Chapter 764: Chapter 356: The Fall of Dragon Capital

On the other side, Qi Badao was desperately running with Li Xin on his back. The following Night Patrol was responsible for providing cover. Once entangled by the Blood Demon, someone would sacrifice themselves to draw it away.

Qi Badao had taken many hits, but simply applied some Holy Water hastily before picking up Li Xin and continuing to run. Returning to the Shadow Owl was not an option, nor could he rely on the Church Court. The safest place now was the Celestial Principle Academy. He knew that Li Xin had a deep connection with the academy; once they reached it, they would be safe.

Qi Badao felt his body tingling, his mouth dry and parched, but he dared not stop. The number of Night Patrols around him kept decreasing. There were too many Blood Demons everywhere, and their presence was incredibly alluring—moving, bloody, imbued with Spiritual Ability, they were like living targets, attracting the Blood Demons.

Li Xin felt the jolting motion, finally managing to catch his breath. His vision gradually restored, and his hearing resumed. There were a dozen or so Blood Demons trailing them, and Qi Badao was carrying him while sprinting, "Old Dao, put me down."

"Brother Li, hold on just a bit longer, we are almost at the Celestial Principle School. Once there, we’ll be safe, cough, cough!"

Swallowing down the blood, Qi Badao dodged the Blood Demon’s attacks. However, more Blood Demons kept appearing as they ran into a dead end. The Blood Demons were too numerous here.

Li Xin attempted to form a Nine-character True Words, but nearly fainted. The backlash from the Bloodthirsty Monarch had drained all his strength. His body could barely move, utterly devoid of combat capabilities.

Suddenly, Qi Badao slashed his own wrist, drinking a mouthful of his own blood. The previously still worms became lively and excited immediately. Qi Badao’s eyes turned red, his muscles swelled, and his limbs grew thick. The exhausted body suddenly surged with endless power, scarlet drool dripping from his mouth.

Roar~~~

Fearlessly, Qi Badao charged headlong at the Blood Demon in front, slashing its head with a blade, kicking another away. As his body leapt into the air, a Blood Demon pounced from the rooftop. Qi Badao couldn’t dodge, resorting to a forceful collision, his chest ripped open, the whole person plunging into a residential house. Despite Qi Badao’s efforts to resist, the violent impact caused Li Xin to lose consciousness directly.

In a semi-monster state, Qi Badao vomited a large mouthful of blood, daring not to linger, using the terrain for cover to avoid being surrounded, the Celestial Principle Academy should be very close now.

The stimulation from human blood activated the worms, and the intense craving for power led Qi Badao towards the transformation into a Fallen. From the Celestial Capital to the Dragon Capital, from a mere hooligan to the Silver Owl of the Night Patrol, it seemed like just yesterday, but also as if he had traveled a long, long way. Qi Badao felt the worms taking control of his body, the wills of both fiercely contesting. As he ran, Qi Badao’s body twisted and deformed, unconsciously starting to use all fours.

Roar~~~

Two figures descended from the sky—Mordo and Philson arrived. Qi Badao was already in a daze, his only thought was to protect the person on his back; everything else was the enemy. Qi Badao lunged at the person in front, his massive claws reaching for Mordo.

"Restrain!"

Mordo’s Holy Word halted Qi Badao. This Fallen before him still retained hints of Qi Badao’s appearance. Glancing at the barely conscious Li Xin, Mordo’s sleeve swung, a surge of Spiritual Ability erupted, "Judgment!"

A dozen Blood Demons were blasted into pieces on the spot. Philson caught Li Xin, Spiritual Energy continuously flowing in. Furrowing his brows, the external injuries were minor, but he had been harmed by the Bloodthirsty Monarch’s will. This was not a demigod; it was a true Divine Being. Even a mere wisp of will could cause permanent harm, especially since Li Xin was not an Angel, further intensifying the damage.

Mordo glanced towards the Divine Moon Cathedral, then at both the partially transformed Fallen Qi Badao and the critically injured Li Xin, sighing, "Did it have to come to this?"

Philson remained silent. Perhaps they had never truly understood the courage and sacrifice needed for the path to a new era.

Celestial Pool.

The moment the Bloodthirsty Monarch appeared, the Porcelain Doll and the clown had a clear view from their perfect vantage point, "The power is off; something unexpected occurred. We need to hurry," the clown said flatly.

"Ah, what’s happening?" The Porcelain Doll felt the odd power but didn’t think it would affect the Divine Being.

"Someone used the Earth Pope’s Holy Word to interfere with the Bloodthirsty Monarch’s descent. The current power is barely seventy percent of what we estimated, and the backlash from fortune will arrive early. We must initiate now," the clown explained.

The Porcelain Doll frowned slightly, Earth Pope? What’s connected here?

"Lend me a hand with my little dress," the Porcelain Doll smiled, saying this while handing her clothes over to the clown as she undressed.

The clown instinctively averted his gaze, taking the clothes. The Porcelain Doll smiled a bit and, stretching her liberated body, a gleam from Yazama Karashi passed by. Suddenly, a string of Hex Cores appeared in her hands—the same type used on the Golden Tree. Her figure flickered, arriving at the center of the Celestial Pool, diving in with a splash. As she submerged deeper and deeper, fine cracks started glowing on her pale body, wriggling like innumerable worms crawling.

The clown quietly watched the calm lake surface. They planned to blow up the Celestial Pool, letting its waters flood Dragon Capital. With the Moon God’s Court occupied by the Bloodthirsty Monarch, distracted, the sacrifice of a city would suffice to meet the standards.

Initially, he thought all of this was merely a process, a path to the new era. Life and death was just a cycle; each life lived out its value, whether in birth or destruction. But at some point, his memories were no longer filled with curses. Amongst performances, there indeed were laughter, applause, even admirers.

At the bottom of the Celestial Pool were red cracks emitting intense heat, the source of Dragon Capital’s hot springs. A dormant volcano lay beneath the pool, and the Porcelain Doll intended to revive it, combining the volcanic eruption with the flooding waters. Such a combination would obliterate everything.

A bizarre, almost maniacal smile stretched across the Porcelain Doll’s face, a smile of vengeful joy.

All the Hex Cores lit up, but the explosion of just the Hex Cores wasn’t enough. With the Porcelain Doll’s power-enhancement, it was different. She could repel all facing attacks, and with the clown boosting her fortune tenfold, it was enough to trigger a volcanic eruption; either the eruption or the waters would be enough to take Dragon Capital.

?

A flicker of strange color passed through the Porcelain Doll’s eyes. Gold threads entangled her within the Celestial Pool—fate’s threads?

Not the clown’s. Following immediately, a tremendous force pulled her upwards.

Pressing her lips, the Porcelain Doll watched as all the Hex Cores exploded simultaneously.

Booming...

Earth-shattering tremors, the entire Celestial Pool shook violently. Simultaneously, a seismic wave rippled from the pool, soon revealing cracks from which torrential waters gushed out toward every direction.

Four figures soared into the sky–the clown, Porcelain Doll, Old Fang, "Sugar Cake."

Old Fang watched the pouring Celestial Pool waters, sighing helplessly. Although he managed to pull out the Porcelain Doll in time, preventing her power from fully penetrating and stopping a volcanic eruption, the flood from the Celestial Pool was causing the city’s defenses to rise. Dragon Capital was to be submerged; it was already too late, as the explosive power of Hex-Tech stopped him.

The Porcelain Doll was a bit disheveled. Her body remained unscathed, but her ability was disrupted by fate’s threads, preventing the eruption. It’s fireworks she loved to watch the most.

The Porcelain Doll wore a smile, though filled with twisted homicidal intent, "Well, who would’ve thought—I was wondering who it was, turns out it’s you stray dogs!"

"Miss Bear, let’s call it quits," Grand Hall Master Fang wryly remarked, "This is also your homeland."

"Homeland?" The Porcelain Doll laughed aloud, "Heh, such a homeland, Grand Hall Master Fang, it seems you don’t care much for your other leg!"
