I Have a Dice Left by a God
Chapter 752 - 344: Star Disc’s Oracle Page
Chapter 752: Chapter 344: Star Disc’s Oracle Page
Estella’s body had fully recovered; it was just that Li Xin was too busy. The scenery and the cold of the Celestial Capital were both very novel, but she hadn’t come here for foreign landscapes.
Keli didn’t much like the Dragon Capital either; it still preferred staying in Hedan’s palace—huge and spacious, with all kinds of delicious food every day. Things here felt a bit dull. Chris, on the other hand, didn’t care; with its heart set on the world to begin with, flying anywhere was still flying.
So Estella spent her time holding Keli and reading newspapers. There were many Hex Bird Reports here, and their contents were quite interesting: four newspapers, four styles, and what they covered was very different from Hedan’s.
When Li Xin arrived, Estella was very happy. She naturally took the Night Patrol coat from his hands and hung it up. "Are you done for now, Mr. Gemini?"
"For the moment, things have been wrapped up. I’m really sorry—I’d planned to take you on a proper tour of the Dragon Capital, but that’s not happening this time. You’d better leave Dragon Capital immediately." Li Xin said.
"What’s wrong?" Estella asked. "Which one went wrong?"
Estella didn’t seem anxious. Instead, she had Li Xin sit down and prepared tea.
"No, last time’s operation was a great success. It’s something else. There might be a brutal battle in the Dragon Capital soon, and for now we can’t estimate the scale." Li Xin said; at this point, he himself had no grasp of how things would develop.
"Can you tell me about it?" Estella asked.
"Grand Governor Ye Shidao is a believer of the Bloodthirsty Monarch beneath the Night God’s throne. He’ll soon launch a coup; Dragon Capital is going to fall into chaos." Li Xin briefly outlined the situation.
Estella smiled faintly. "Mr. Gemini, there’s no need to worry. I’ll move in with Celestia. Ji Sheng may be gone, but our cooperation agreement with the Royal Family is still valid. Moreover, once my identity is exposed, I represent Moncalleta."
Neither Ye Shidao nor the Royal Family nor the Council would fall out with Moncalleta over a Ji Sheng who was already dead. In fact, with Ji Sheng’s death, many people were applauding.
"I know that. What worries me is Song of Hell. They still have stronger singers in the Dragon Capital. Given Song of Hell’s usual style, they’re definitely not just helping Ye Shidao to seize power—that’s far too simple." Li Xin said, looking at Estella.
"So Mr. Gemini is worried about me?" Estella’s smile bloomed, and in an instant the whole room became warm and tinged with romance.
"Of course, Miss Aries." Li Xin said.
A trace of joy flashed through Estella’s eyes, tinged with faint disappointment.
"I still haven’t finished what I came to Dragon Capital to do. You don’t need to worry about my safety here; Second Brother has sent people, plus Chris and Keli are with me. Worst case, I can move to live in the Celestial Principle Academy."
She wasn’t going to leave. This was her first time out, and also her last.
When Keli heard Estella call its name, it immediately raised its head, glanced at the two of them, then lay down again in boredom.
Seeing the resolve on Estella’s face, Li Xin didn’t try to persuade her further. With Estella’s identity and the forces at her side, once she moved into the Celestial Principle School, anyone would have to think twice before making a move. In truth, given Estella’s situation, no one would be stupid enough to come looking for trouble.
Seeing that Li Xin seemed to have thought it through, Estella suddenly felt delighted inside. This was probably what Beijing people often said: those who care become confused. The one truly in danger wasn’t her at all.
"There’s another very important matter I came to talk to you about. It’s about the Star Disc." Estella said, looking at Li Xin. "Master once said that within the Star Disc lies the secret of Dao Yuan Continent’s creation."
"The secret of creation? Is it related to the Supreme God?" Li Xin asked curiously.
"Yes. Divine Artifacts are all tied to power; each of the Five Great Sanctuaries has a supreme treasure related to the Supreme God, and this is also connected to the destruction of the Fifth Epoch. The key to the Star Disc is that page of the book in the center of our Round Table." Estella said. "Whoever can decipher the mysterious spell on that page can obtain the power of the Creator God."
"It’s a spell, not writing?"
"Yes, a spell." Estella nodded. "My judgment is that the Star Disc has existed for an extremely long time. Over that vast span of time, I imagine someone must have discovered its secret. I probed Master about it, but Master wouldn’t say."
Li Xin looked at Miss Aries. "That spell should have been left by the creator. We’re definitely not the first group to use the Star Disc."
"Our Moncalleta Kingdom has very deep research into writing. Ever since entering the Star Disc, I’ve been poring over texts everywhere and consulting many doctors of ancient scripts, but none of them could uncover the meaning of those nine spell symbols." Estella said.
"Nine spell symbols?" Li Xin was taken aback. "What I saw was a string of looping symbols spiraling around."
Li Xin and Estella exchanged a glance. The Faceless God Statue stood in the middle, but no matter who it was, they could all see the pages it spread open—strikingly conspicuous, clearly signifying its importance. Yet none of them had realized that what each person saw would be different.
Li Xin immediately took out paper and pen. "I may not remember it perfectly, but it’s roughly like this."
In the Round Table Conference, it was impossible to ignore that page; in fact, whenever there was a spare moment he would stare at it, trying to find some clue. Li Xin had memorized the symbols about seventy to eighty percent accurately.
"Do you recognize these?"
Estella studied them carefully, then shook her head. "No. But they’re definitely very different from what I saw. I’m not the same as you."
When Estella drew the first symbol on the paper, Li Xin froze.
A very clumsily written "Lin" character!
"It’s strange, isn’t it? Such characters have never appeared on Dao Yuan’s paths—they’re very special." Estella said with a smile, then carefully wrote out the remaining eight spell symbols.
They were exactly the Nine-character True Words: "Lin, Bing, Dou, Zhe, Jie, Zhen, Lie, Zai, Qian."
So this was the Round Table Conference’s secret?
Estella immediately noticed the odd look on Li Xin’s face. "Mr. Gemini, you recognize it?"
Li Xin nodded, looking at Miss Aries, and did not conceal it. "I couldn’t be more familiar with it!"
Ever since he inexplicably arrived in this place, his only link to his previous life had been the Nine-character True Words and Governor Luthor, who seemed suspiciously like someone from his hometown.
"It’s a very powerful spell technique. If it’s useful, I can..." Li Xin spoke while thinking. If he recited this spell inside the Star Disc, who knew what would happen—could he drive the Star Disc, or uncover some other secret?
Suddenly, a soft, slender fingertip was placed against his lips. "Mr. Gemini, you don’t have to tell me."
It felt almost like a jolt of electricity. A blush rose over Estella’s flawless white skin. "Once hidden knowledge spreads, it can trigger unpredictable reactions. My abilities aren’t strong; knowing too much may not be a good thing. Wait until you’ve investigated it clearly, then tell me."
Li Xin thought for a moment. "That works too. Miss Aries, you really are my lucky star."
The Star Disc actually bore the Nine-character True Words—that meant he hadn’t come here for no reason, and there might even be a way to go back. For a moment, Li Xin was so excited he could hardly contain himself.
"Mr. Gemini, you must be careful. Hidden Power often comes with traps and a heavy price. Divine Artifacts are especially like this; so are the Divine Favored, and so is Withered Wood Monastery." Estella reminded him, a little worried.
That helped Li Xin calm down. "Thank you, Miss Aries. I’ll be careful. Looks like we’ve taken another step toward the truth of the Hidden World. This is extremely important to me."
Gentle warmth spread across Estella’s face; her eyes were filled entirely with this man. The night outside was bitterly cold, but inside the room it was very warm...
