I Have a Countryside Gourmet Restaurant
Chapter 344 - 325: What a Big Crab
Chapter 344: Chapter 325: What a Big Crab
Liu LiangZhong was ecstatic, while Lin Quan and the other relatives were green with envy.
To sell so many peaches so easily, and at such an ideal price, no less. This was the kind of dream scenario many fruit farmers could only fantasize about.
Having a young man like him in the village was truly a great blessing.
Amidst the lively chatter, everyone returned to the area outside Liu LiangZhong’s courtyard.
Li You and the customers said their goodbyes to Liu LiangZhong and his relatives.
Liu LiangZhong wanted to have them stay for a while and rest.
But Li You explained that the customers wanted to wander around the village a bit more, so they wouldn’t stay.
Hearing this, Liu LiangZhong knew he couldn’t insist, so he just said, "Well, enjoy your walk then."
Li You and the group of customers all agreed.
Then, they each secured their peaches on their motorcycles or electric scooters.
Li You gave Ling Xiaoru a ride, leading the group as they set off again.
He took a different route, heading toward the village entrance via another path so everyone could see more of the village scenery.
This was, of course, exactly what the customers wanted.
Li You kept the pace slow, allowing the customers to ride leisurely and take a closer look at the scenery along the way.
As they rode, no matter what they saw, the customers would chat amongst themselves about it.
Everyone’s spirits remained high.
Gradually, they reached the village entrance.
It was the same entrance they had used to enter the village, just approached from a different direction.
Once they left the village, they officially began their journey back.
Some bid farewell and left along the way, while others followed Li You all the way back to the restaurant.
It was already past five in the afternoon; if they waited just a little longer, it would be time for dinner.
So they figured they might as well have dinner here before heading back.
Ling Xiaoru wasn’t going back either. It wouldn’t be too late to head back to work tomorrow morning.
Of course, she would take her bag of peaches back with her tomorrow as well.
She would leave it here for the night.
"Boss, I’m heading upstairs," Ling Xiaoru said to Li You.
Li You nodded.
The rest of the customers who had returned with him all gathered in the arcade area.
Some played games, while others watched.
Everyone clearly enjoyed this feeling, which was similar to an old-school video arcade.
Li You liked it too.
So he watched as well. It wasn’t until six o’clock, when customers began ordering dinner, that he left the arcade area and went into the kitchen to start working.
Once he started, he barely had a moment’s rest.
It was nine o’clock by the time the last group of customers finished eating and left. Only then did he make a couple of dishes and go upstairs to eat with Ling Xiaoru.
He was treating Ling Xiaoru tonight.
...
「The next morning.」
Ling Xiaoru came downstairs at eight o’clock, having woken up unusually early.
After a bowl of Yangchun Noodles, Ling Xiaoru prepared to say her goodbyes and leave.
She had to get back to work.
Li You also picked up a bucket, getting ready to go out.
Seeing this, Ling Xiaoru asked, "Boss, what are you doing with a bucket?"
Li You said, "I’m going to the gorge to check my fish traps. It’s been two days since I last checked them."
Of course, Li You could have gone to check the fish traps without a bucket. However, it was better to bring one as a cover in case he ran into anyone.
When Ling Xiaoru heard he was going to check the fish traps, her eyes lit up. "I want to go too! I’ll go with you."
Li You said, "Don’t you have to get back to work?"
Ling Xiaoru replied, "It won’t be too late to go back after we check the traps. It won’t take long."
Li You nodded. "Alright, let’s go."
He certainly had no objection to Ling Xiaoru coming along.
Ling Xiaoru agreed happily and followed behind Li You as they walked toward the gorge.
The two of them didn’t dally on the way, heading straight to the spot in the gorge where the fish traps were set.
"Boss, I’ll get the fish trap," Ling Xiaoru said.
Li You nodded. "Okay."
Ling Xiaoru walked over to the fish trap. As she bent down to grab it, she suddenly froze. Then, she exclaimed in delighted surprise, "Boss, come quick! There’s a huge crab here!"
"Oh yeah? Let me see," Li You replied.
Even as he answered, Li You didn’t think the crab could be all that big.
Because crabs in shallows like these were usually mountain crabs.
Mountain crabs generally didn’t grow very large. They were nowhere near as plump and meaty as river crabs.
However, mountain crabs required very high water quality to survive. They could only be found in unpolluted streams in the countryside or deep in the mountains.
Of course, this gorge had them.
And in large numbers, too.
"It’s getting away! It’s getting away! Boss, it’s running!" Ling Xiaoru said urgently.
’It’d be a miracle if it didn’t run after you made all that noise,’ Li You thought. ’Still, if it ran, it ran. It’s just one mountain crab...’
But before he could even finish the thought, he froze.
Because he saw the crab.
It was scurrying to hide under a large rock.
It was indeed huge, not much smaller than an adult’s fist.
This took Li You by surprise. A mountain crab this large was extremely rare.
Even in this gorge.
Li You had caught plenty of mountain crabs in his traps recently, but he had never seen one this big.
Even the largest ones he’d caught were less than half this size.
After his surprise came delight. Anyone would be thrilled to see a mountain crab this large.
’I have to catch it.’
’Not to eat it, though. That would be a waste. I’ll just keep it and show it off every now and then.’
A mountain crab this size was definitely something to show off.
By this time, Li You had reached Ling Xiaoru’s side.
Ling Xiaoru pointed at the rock the crab had hidden under and said, "Boss, did you see that? It went under that rock!"
Li You nodded. "I saw it. It really is huge. Mountain crabs this big are extremely rare."
Ling Xiaoru was visibly excited. "I told you it was big, right? It’s bigger than my fist. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a mountain crab this large."
Li You said, "I saw one about this big when I was a kid. Or maybe a little smaller. We’re pretty lucky today to run into a mountain crab this size. I’ll get it out."
Ling Xiaoru was full of anticipation. "Okay, okay! We can get a better look after you catch it. But be careful. Don’t let it pinch you. A pinch from that thing must really hurt."
Li You smiled. "Don’t worry. When we were kids, we used to catch crabs in the streams all the time, and I almost never got pinched."
"You should still be careful," Ling Xiaoru said.
Li You nodded. Then, he took off his shoes and socks and waded into the water.
The water wasn’t deep, only reaching his calves.
Catching crabs was relatively easy in water this deep. Plus, this was a shallow area, so the underwater terrain wasn’t complicated. Li You was absolutely confident he could catch the crab.
All he had to do was flip over the rock the crab was hiding under and grab it. There was no real technique involved.
The rock was a bit large and heavy, but for Li You, flipping it was easy.
After he flipped the rock, the crab hiding underneath was exposed—a truly magnificent big fellow.
Li You quickly reached out to grab it.
The moment his hand touched the crab, the system’s voice echoed in his mind.
"Host’s current environment detected. Generating game dungeon."
