Chapter 474: Eternal Descend
Chapter 474: Eternal Descend
"Even I wouldn’t be able to do anything? What ignorance."
Floating far above the clouds, Nerrisa quietly sneered to herself as she looked toward the enormous landmass descending from beyond the sky. Her platinum hair drifted lazily behind her while the cold currents moved around her unmoving figure. Her eyes stayed calm, almost amused, as she watched the thing continue falling. Zane’s words reached her clearly despite the distance between them. She listened to his explanation about impossibility, about hardness, about how even she could not stop something like this once it began falling, and for a moment she simply stared upward before letting out a faint breath from her nose.
She wasn’t angry.
Honestly she wasn’t even offended. She simply found his conclusion strange. Because from his perspective, the logic seemed simple if he could not break it casually, and if the city could not survive it, then destruction became inevitable.
But why should that logic apply to everyone? Especially to her? She genuinely did not understand where that confidence came from. Just because something was impossible for him did not suddenly make it impossible for others. That kind of thinking only existed in people who had not yet met enough monsters.
Her eyes slowly moved across the descending mass again. Destroy that thing? That wasn’t difficult. Not difficult at all. And even if she did not destroy it why would destruction even be necessary? Her thoughts moved naturally through possibilities. She could stop it. One thought would be enough. Freeze all motion. Hold it in the air. She could shrink it aswell. Compress the entire landmass into something small enough to fit in her palm. She could absorb it aswell. Convert stone into something harmless. Change its structure entirely? Remove its all weight. Remove its mass. Turn it lighter than air.
Negate all motions? Yeah every bit of speed gathered during the fall. Dissolve it into particles. Split and redirect every piece individually. Speed? Strength? Hardness? Momentum? Weight? To people below, those concepts sounded absolute. To her, they were simply variables.
Zane spoke proudly about his Law of Hardness and the impossibility of damaging that mountain, but hardness itself only mattered when the person standing opposite acknowledged hardness in the first place. She possessed his bloodline ability too. His affinity too. And more than that she could do everything he could do.. and that too better she had reached much further than him. So his statement never really entered her heart. She simply ignored it and looked elsewhere.
But after that thought passed, her interest slowly shifted. Her eyes moved away from the mountain and lowered toward the battlefield below.
Toward Razeal. Her faint smile remained as curiosity quietly appeared inside her eyes.
Because she knew what she herself would do. That wasn’t interesting. What was interesting was what he would do. Her mind immediately began calculating possibilities.
Destroying the mountain directly?
Unlikely.
Even if he broke it, fragments of that size would still destroy everything. Holding it? Impossible. Air pressure alone would flatten the city beneath. Redirecting? Ridiculous.
Then another possibility entered her mind. Teleportation. Her eyes narrowed slightly. She remembered his strange shifting methods before. Teleportation?
Maybe... maybe he could do that. But almost immediately she rejected her own idea. No. That shouldn’t be possible. That landmass was absurdly large. Many times larger than the city itself.
If he could teleport something of that scale... then what stopped him from teleporting entire cities? Buildings. Walls. Millions of people or Entire regions itself.
That crossed beyond genius into nonsense.
The mana cost alone should be impossible. The mental calculation required should be impossible.
She knew talent. She respected talent. But talent was not permission to pull anything out of nowhere. There had to be limits. There had to be rules. And yet... her eyes stayed on him longer than before. Because somehow, whenever she thought she had found those limits, he could surpass her expectations
Her gaze remained fixed on him as she stopped trying to predict and simply decided to watch. Whatever he did next, she wanted to see it properly.
At the same time, without turning fully, she looked quietly from the corner of her eye toward Merisa floating beside her. Her lips curved faintly again.
Merisa looked calm her expression had barely changed from the beginning. Her posture remained controlled. Her eyes stayed focused. No panic. No tension. No visible movement. Anyone else looking would think she was completely fine.
But Nerrisa knew her too well. She knew how good Merisa was at keeping things inside. At acting composed even when she wasn’t.
Her fingers were twitching.
Very slightly. Barely enough to notice unless someone was actively watching her. Merisa herself did not move at all. She continued floating farr away above the battlefield with the same calm expression and composed posture she had maintained from the beginning. Her face remained quiet. Her eyes remained steady.
Anyone looking at her would think she was completely unaffected by what was happening below. But that wasn’t true.
She was agitated as if wanting to reach forward, wanting to do something but every movement stopped before it began. She was holding herself back.
One could see it if they looked long enough. Even with that controlled face and steady breathing, she was prepared. She was watching every second carefully. The moment she felt something truly wrong happen to him, she would move. There was no hesitation in that part of her. The hesitation existed only in choosing not to act yet.
Meanwhile below, people on the wall had started feeling the effect. At first nobody understood what was happening. They simply felt their bodies become heavier. Their feet pressed harder into ground.
Their breathing becaming uncomfortable.
Several guards even adjusted their footing. Some soldiers unconsciously grabbed nearby supports.
A few weaker people directly dropped onto one knee. Then slowly people began looking upward and what they saw made their faces change completely.
The clouds were opening. No.. not opening. They were being forced apart. The atmosphere itself looked like something had pierced through it and carved a giant circular hole through the heavens.
And inside that opening, something enormous burned. The landmass had become visible now. Fire spread across parts of its lower surface from entering the atmosphere. Trails of burning fragments followed behind it. Even though it was still unbelievably far away, it already looked impossibly large.
Too large. Like as if part of the world had detached and started falling back down. The winds strengthened. Dust lifted. Loose stones rolled. Debris trembled. Even the giant walls emitted faint vibrations.
Lord Kael looked upward and his expression slowly twisted. Veins became visible around his forehead. His fists tightened until his arms trembled. He stared for several seconds before finally speaking in a strained voice.
"This... this is wrong..." Then suddenly his voice rose loudly enough for everyone nearby to hear.
"How can he do this?! This is going to kill everyone!" His voice carried actual anger instead of fear. He wasn’t thinking about victory anymore. He wasn’t even thinking about Denvaar Kingdom. He looked at the sky with disbelief. Leave there kingdom with this just how many people would disappear?
How many kingdoms? cities? Villages? Families? This wasn’t war anymore. This was destruction. His breathing became rough as he continued speaking. Not even Great Saints would survive that directly. Would Supremes even willingly stand beneath something like that? And running? Run where? Thousands of kilometers could be affected by the impact and pressure alone. There was nowhere to escape. His words spread silence through everyone nearby because nobody could disagree.
Inside Silver Shield City, ordinary people had already started noticing.
People stepped outside. Families gathered. Children looked upward. Mothers hugged children. Some people grabbed loved ones. Some started crying immediately. Most didn’t understand what they were looking at. They didn’t know about Supremes or laws or war.
They only understood that something enormous was falling and that nobody looked confident anymore. Some prayed. Some screamed. Some tried running despite knowing it probably wouldn’t matter. Others simply sat beside family quietly. More and more people accepted that this might be the end.
Meanwhile in the middle of the battlefield, standing before Zane, Razeal looked upward toward the descending landmass and quietly sighed. He slowly shook his head before speaking in an indifferent voice.
"What a bother." His expression looked almost annoyed. Not tense. Not serious. Not pressured. Just mildly irritated.
And at that Zane’s smirk paused.
He blinked? His brows pulled together slightly. That wasn’t the expression he expected. He expected fear. Or realization. Or seriousness. But annoyance? Why annoyance? Why did it look like the boy considered this troublesome instead of impossible? Zane stared carefully at his face for a moment trying to understand it.
Then he blinked once more.
But just as he did Razeal disappeared.
No sound.
No explosion.
No movement.
No warning.
One moment he stood there.
The next moment..
Nothing?
He was utterly confused.
Zane’s eyes narrowed instantly. His perception spread out immediately. He looked left. Right. Up. Down. For a brief second confusion actually appeared in his expression because he had not seen movement.
Not fast movement. Not hidden movement. Nothing. The boy had simply vanished. But being Supreme, it didn’t take long. His eyes slowly lifted upward toward the sky. Higher. Higher. Toward the descending burning landmass.
Then he found him.
And as he did..
he paused.
Miles above the battlefield, in the middle of the sky and directly beneath the descending landmass, Razeal floated silently.
His silver hair whipped violently behind him under the pressure of the falling world above. The air around him was unstable. Winds screamed past him with enough force to tear apart mountains. The atmosphere itself had become violent around the descending mass. Heat spread outward in invisible waves. Layers of compressed air formed around the burning surface of the giant landmass as it continued accelerating downward. Even from below, people could feel its pressure. Yet Razeal remained there.
It almost looked as if his body simply could not feel the pressure pressing down from above. Which made no sense. Forget a human body even materials stronger than steel should already have begun collapsing under the air pressure alone. The heat being generated around the falling landmass should have burned flesh instantly.
Yet Razeal remained there without reaction, calmly looking upward as if watching rain approach.
Then slowly, without hurry and without changing expression, he raised one hand and opened his palm toward the sky. The movement was natural. Calm. Almost casual. As though he were waiting for something small to fall into his hand instead of something large enough to erase a kingdom.
High above and far away, Nerrisa had originally been watching with amusement after seeing Razeal’s speed. She had clearly followed his movement and had been about to make some comment about it.
But the moment she saw him raise one hand toward that descending mass, she paused completely. Her mouth remained slightly open. Her expression became strange. Her eyes moved between Razeal and the falling landmass several times as if checking whether she misunderstood what she was seeing. Her brows slowly lifted. For a second she genuinely looked confused. What was he doing?
Her lips twitched.
Then
Suddenly she shook her head and laughed softly. "Hah..." She clapped both hands together once and smiled wider. "Now that..." Her eyes remained fixed upward with visible interest. "...that’s what I call an unexpected move."
Even she had not expected this. Not because stopping the attack was impossible for someone strong but because this was simply not the method anyone would choose. Even strong ones who can.
Down below, Zane kept looking upward before his face slowly became weird. His eyes moved from Razeal to the giant falling mass and back several times. His mouth opened slightly before he finally spoke.
"...What?" He blinked once. "...WHAT?" His expression slowly shifted from confusion into disbelief. "Is he..." He paused again and stared upward harder. "...thinking of stopping it with his hand?" His face slowly became complicated.
Then disappointment appeared. Zane let out a breath and shook his head.
"He’s going to die." But even while saying it, he himself looked unconvinced. Because that level of stupidity should not exist. Nobody reached this level by acting without thought. Nobody stood against a Supreme and survived through luck. If Razeal was trying this then he should believe he could do it.
Which made Zane hesitate. Could he actually handle it? Could he survive the impact? Could he stop it? His thoughts moved rapidly. Mass. Velocity. Weight. Air compression. Force transfer.
Then his expression became stranger. Even if by some absurd miracle the boy stopped it... then what? Did he think that solved anything? Zane frowned harder.
Did he not understand? A mass that large moving at such speed could not simply be stopped. Even if someone held it in place, the pressure generated would descend downward and flatten the city anyway.
The compressed atmosphere alone would destroy everything below. The kingdom would still die. People would still die. Catching it solved nothing. Stopping it solved nothing. Zane quietly looked upward and murmured to himself with genuine confusion rather than mockery, "That kid... is.. Dumb?"
Across the battlefield, everyone capable of perceiving what was happening became silent. Great Saints. Lords. High-level soldiers.
Those strong enough to follow Razeal’s movement all looked upward in disbelief. Some stared at Razeal. Some stared at the descending mass. Some looked between both repeatedly as if expecting something else to happen. Nobody understood. Nobody could explain it.
But nobody had time to think because the landmass was too fast. The moment Razeal appeared in position, the enormous object descended above him almost instantly. Heat exploded downward. Fire covered its lower face. Air pressure folded around its edges. The atmosphere itself seemed to groan under the force.
The thing appeared directly above him with overwhelming presence. Heat waves struck Razeal’s body. Fire reflected faintly inside his crimson eyes. Layers of compressed air surrounded him. Winds tore violently around him.
Yet as if none of those things existed at all, Razeal remained exactly where he was. He did not move even one inch. He simply floated beneath that world-ending mass with one raised hand and calm eyes, standing there as though pressure, heat, gravity, and destruction had all become meaningless the moment they reached him.
Before his extended hand reached the actual surface of the descending landmass, with barely a small distance left between his fingertips and that impossible object, something strange happened. It was not that time actually slowed, and yet for everyone watching, that was exactly what it felt like. The roaring winds seemed to stretch longer.
The violent fire covering the lower surface of the falling landmass looked slower. Even the crushing pressure descending from above felt strangely distant for a brief moment.
Razeal remained floating there beneath it all. His silver hair continued whipping wildly behind him under the violent air currents, strands falling across his face and eyes, but his expression did not change at all. There was no tension in his body. No preparation to resist impact. No signs of gathering force. His gaze simply remained fixed upward. Then slowly, very naturally, his raised hand opened completely. Not into a fist. Not into a blocking position. Not even to catch. His palm simply opened.
The movement was so gentle that compared to the enormous world-ending object above him, it almost looked absurd. Then his hand moved forward slightly, not forcefully but softly, like someone reaching toward falling rain. His index finger slowly extended. And then
Tap!!
His finger touched it.
And.. That was all.
No explosion.
No collision.
No sound of force meeting force.
No shockwave.
No burst of power.
Just a small, quiet touch.
Like nudging a leaf floating down a stream.
Like touching water to guide its direction.
At that exact moment, Razeal’s crimson eyes beneath moving silver hair suddenly brightened faintly. Not violently. Not with pressure or killing intent. His lips slowly curved upward into a small smile. Then in a low voice, so calm that it almost felt out of place against the destruction surrounding him, he softly murmured, "Flow."
The moment the word left him, something happened.
Fshhhhh~
A strange low sound appeared.
Or maybe it didn’t.
Nobody could explain it later.
It felt like something had been moved at extremely high speed.
But nothing was moved at same time.
It felt like space itself was cut?.
It felt like something passed through reality itself
Yet there was no trace.
The sound was so silent it could not truly be heard by ears.
But just.. as he tapped.
The giant landmass disappeared.
Not exploded.
Not shattered.
Not broken apart.
Not redirected.
Not compressed.
It simply disappeared.
Instantly
One moment the sky was completely occupied by something large enough to erase kingdoms.
The next
There was nothing.
The enormous pressure vanished.
The heat disappeared.
The screaming atmosphere became silent.
The violent winds stopped.
The sky became clear.
Only Razeal remained floating there.
Alone.
Suspended in open air.
And the only thing proving that the mountain had truly existed at all was the massive circular opening left across the clouds and atmosphere, stretching far into the distance where the descending mass had torn through earlier. Otherwise, anyone arriving now would think nothing had happened.
For several seconds nobody moved.
Razeal remained floating quietly. Then a small laugh escaped him.
"Kufufu..." He slowly lowered his hand and casually brushed his fingers through his silver hair, pushing strands away from his face. His smile widened slightly not proudly, not arrogantly, but with simple satisfaction. He looked upward once before quietly chuckling to himself.
"...It worked." A cold breeze moved past him now. His hair flowed gently. The same sky that had been collapsing moments ago now looked peaceful around him.
Far away, Nerrisa blinked.
Then blinked again.
Her face slowly froze.
The amusement disappeared.
Her eyes moved upward.
Then left.
Then right.
She looked around the sky.
Her brows slowly furrowed.
"...What?"
Her voice came out slowly.
Her eyes searched again.
"...What just happened?"
Her gaze moved across the empty sky.
She looked for fragments.
Energy.
Pressure.
Signs.
Anything.
But.. There was nothing.
Her expression slowly became stranger.
"...Huh?"
She looked around again.
"...Where did it go?"
For several moments she genuinely looked confused.
Actually confused.
Not pretending.
Not acting.
Not analyzing.
Just confused.
Then she immediately turned her head toward Merisa.
And paused.
Because Merisa looked exactly the same.
Merisa’s face remained calm on the surface, but her eyes were narrowed deeply while staring toward Razeal. Her expression clearly showed confusion she herself had not processed yet.
Nerrisa stared at her before asking in a voice that suddenly lost all amusement, "Merisa... did you see what he just did?"
Merisa immediately turned toward her.
Her brows tightened.
Then she asked back almost instantly
"...You didn’t see either?"
Silence.
The two women looked at each other.
And understood.
Neither of them saw it.
Neither of them?
Neither of them spoke immediately. Merisa looked at Nerrisa and Nerrisa looked back at Merisa, and in that short moment both understood something that should not have happened.
Neither of them saw it.
Their heads immediately whipped back toward Razeal almost at the same instant. Their eyes narrowed deeply as they looked toward the young figure floating far away in the sky. Silver hair moved softly under cold winds. One hand lowered naturally. Calm expression. No visible exhaustion. No pressure. No signs of mana consumption. No fluctuations around him.
Nothing.
And that itself felt wrong.
What did he do?
That thought appeared in both their minds together.
Even they.. people standing at the very peak of this world had not perceived what happened.
How was that possible?
There had not even been movement.
No disturbance in surrounding mana.
No reaction in atmosphere.
No signs of space being cut.
No collapse.
No pressure release.
Nothing.
The giant landmass simply disappeared.
Merisa stared for several moments before finally speaking. Her voice remained controlled but confusion was obvious beneath it.
"...Was it teleportation?"
She asked seriously.
She was not guessing randomly.
After all.. among all abilities she knew.. only she and Razeal possessed something close to teleportation.
At least from what she understood.
Moving something instantly.
Changing position.
Removing existence from one place.
That kind of concept. That was why her first thought went there.
Nerrisa answered almost immediately.
"I... I don’t think so," Nerrisa replied quickly, equally puzzled. Her eyes stayed narrowed like silver needles, fixed on Razeal. "I just caught a flash of light shooting upward. That’s all." She murmured the words half to herself, still unsure.
"The moment his index finger touched that land mass, I saw a flash... and then it was gone. It was too fast. I couldn’t follow it."
Merisa frowned deeper. "Too fast? For you?" She sounded taken aback. "Didn’t you once tell me your special eyes can see everything unless the speed crosses a thousand times the speed of sound? Right?"
Nerrisa paused, her expression shifting. For a moment, the two of them the most intelligent and powerful figures in the world looked like ordinary people who had just witnessed something beyond their understanding.
"Yes," Nerrisa nodded slowly. "That’s true and actually even if it is a thousand times the speed of sound, I should still catch some trace. But this time... I didn’t see even a shadow." Her lips curved slightly upward as she spoke, and her eyes filled with growing interest while she watched Razeal float in the air.
"And...If I wasn’t even able to see that..." Nerrisa murmured quietly while still looking toward Razeal floating alone in the sky. Her platinum eyes narrowed slightly before slowly becoming brighter instead of colder. One of her hands rose unconsciously and wrapped around a strand of her platinum hair, twisting it lightly while thinking. "...then it means..." She paused for a moment before her lips slowly curved upward. "...it moved above ten thousand times the speed of sound."
Silence.
Merisa slowly turned toward her.
Her expression remained calm but her eyes clearly changed.
"But... How is that possible?" she murmured quietly, sounding genuinely taken back.
Her eyes moved back toward Razeal.
Ten thousand times? And that big of object?
That number itself sounded unreasonable.
Not because she underestimated him. She already knew her son was abnormal. Strange. Too strange.
This was something neither she nor Nerrisa perceived.
That should not happen.
Nerrisa remained looking at Razeal before suddenly speaking softly.
"I wonder..."
Her fingers continued twisting her platinum hair while she tilted her head slightly.
Her clear platinum eyes remained fixed on him.
Interested.
Curious.
And extremely focused.
There was an unusual brightness inside them.
Merisa noticed immediately.
Her own eyes narrowed slightly.
She knew Nerrisa.
Very few things in this world actually interested her. She learned too fast. Understood too fast. Most things eventually became boring to her. Ancient magic. Impossible techniques. Lost bloodlines. Secret records. Nothing truly held her attention for long.
But right now
she was looking at Razeal differently.
Her platinum eyes almost seemed to shine.
Like she had discovered something genuinely unknown.
Something she couldn’t understand.
And somehow..
Merisa did not like that expression.
Meanwhile her own thoughts remained tangled.
She should have been relieved.
Her son survived.
Protected the kingdom.
Handled an almost impossible attack for someone his level.
Yet strangely.. her relief became smaller than her confusion.
How?
How was that possible?
How did both her and Nerrisa fail to perceive what even happened?
They knew almost every branch of magic in this world.
Techniques.
Secret arts.
Bloodlines
Movement methods.
Hidden skills.
Trump cards.
Even strange ancient applications.
Yet.. they had nothing.
No explanation.
No theory.
Not even a guess.
That itself felt impossible.
But
it happened.
