Ding!

[The Host’s recent actions have earned widespread favor among world creatures, reducing perceived hostility. This has caused a minor deviation from your inevitable forced Divine Duty: Divine Villain.]

Razeal stood frozen.

The echo of the announcement still rang faintly in his ears, the absurdity of it refusing to settle. A princess. A marriage. Won..? just like that in the middle of a competition he hadn’t even entered for first place.

But before that shock and confusion could even fully sink in, before his mind could even begin to process the weight of winning first prize instead of second.. and that too a princess instead of a prize, the system notifications slammed into him one after another,.

Which cought his attention..

As his eyes flicked rapidly across the glowing panels.

A title.

He had gained a title?

Razeal frowned slightly.

He hadn’t even known something like that existed.

“Son-in-Law of All Sea…” he repeated silently, the name in itself was weird.. anyways be barely reacted to the wording, barely reacted to the implications of him marrying a princess.. royalty or kinship or the ocean recognizing him as its own which felt kinda weird and abstract important, yes, but not what truly caught his attention.

His gaze shifted downward.

To the next notification.

To the words that made him pause.

Altered and disrupted the world’s fate and destiny trajectory?

Razeal’s brow furrowed deeper.

“…Really?” he muttered under his breath.

One point zero seven percent.

The number hovered there, deceptively small, yet impossibly heavy.

He still did not know much about all of this. But if these words were true and they should be, since they were given by the system then there was only one possible conclusion.

He had just succeeded in altering his fate and destiny.

Something that was said to be inevitable and impossible to change.

As he read further through the notifications, he realized something even more shocking: he had caused a minor deviation in his inevitable, forcibly imposed Divine Duty.. Divine Villain.

From what he could understand, this was a cursed role placed upon him by the world itself by fate and destiny combined. A duty that demanded he become the world’s villain. One who would destroy everything, spread hatred, chaos, and destruction, so that equilibrium could be restored. So the world could stabilize itself through equalization.

But now…

As he reread the notifications and began connecting everything together, his thoughts started aligning, one realization linking to another. Then, before anything else, he caught the most important line ..the words that made the impossible possible.

Gaining favorable impressions + reduced hostility = altered and disrupted the world’s fate and destiny trajectory.

So much so that it had even caused a deviation in the forcibly imposed world duty placed upon him the duty of becoming the world’s villain.

Which meant only one thing. If doing so more

he could lose this duty???

He fell into deep contemplation and suddenly, everything hit him at once. His thoughts opened. His perspective shifted As suddenly he remembered the words spoken by Riven.

He would be killed by someone who loved him the most.

But that was not the only curse placed upon him alone. It was not merely destiny bound to him as a person. It was also a curse.. no, a sacred divine duty, as Riven liked to call it placed upon the one who would love him most too? Right?

Like whoever loved him the most would bear the divine duty to kill him.

Since they could not run from it either. The duty was inescapable, because it was not bound to choice, but to role and duty.

It was not a matter of who decided to kill him. It was a matter of who qualified. If he made someone love him the most, that person would inevitably become the one destined to kill him. Not because they wished to..

but because the role would settle upon them.

And if another came to love him more than the current bearer, the duty would not remain fixed. It would transfer.

Because it was never tied to a single person.

It was a function of love itself.

A role or A divine obligation or whatever..

The one who loved him the most would always be the executioner.. until someone else surpassed that love and inherited the burden

Just as it was impossible to truly kill the.. Chosen One.

Even if the Chosen One died, someone else would take his place. Because the Chosen One was not a being it was a role, a duty, supported and empowered by fate and the world itself. If one failed or fell, the role would simply pass to another, someone later deemed more worthy.

His thoughts spiraled.

Yes… why didn’t I think of this before?

If a Chosen One died and another inherited the role… Then wasn’t the same true for him?

He, too, was a holder of a duty and a role even if it was not a noble one. If he died without fulfilling that duty, wouldn’t someone else inherit it? Wouldn’t another rise to become the world’s villain?

If that were true… then everything finally made sense.

That was why he had been able to alter and disrupt his fate.

Because he had lost some of the qualifications required to be a villain.

A villain was never meant to gain favor… A villain’s only purpose was to be hated by all.

And he had failed at that.

Understanding dawned on him fully now.

He understood everything now.

He was confused.. no, he had misunderstood it.. Must be because of that fucker, Riven… he truly believed in fact that it was inevitable and impossible to change the fate and destiny.. So much that he didn’t even bothered looking for ways to change it. And he knows the reason.. It was.. Just because he was aware that Riven couldn’t lie. And hearing him say that it was impossible, that fate could not be changed.. and that he would do it no matter what…

And he also got it why.. Riven wasn’t lying at same time..

Maybe it was because that bastard wasn’t speaking to me as a being.. but as a person. As someone who held the duty, the role, of the villain. And I, as the holder of that role, could in no way change the destiny tied to it. It was as if I would have to do it no matter what. There was no way out because it was my job. Because I was cast to do it.

So he didn’t lie.. But just manuplated the truth in such a way.. That i beleived it wrong..

That cunning bastard… he played me. Razeal put a hand on my face, a faint smile resting on his lips and I didn’t even feel it. I got fooled because of by my own intelligence and knowledge.

But then again~ Razeal’s lips curved upward a little more. Now I had realized it, he thought. Even if it was late, it was good to be back on track.

He was able to alter and disrupt the world’s fate and destiny trajectory because he was losing the very qualifications that defined what his role was supposed to be. A villain. A being who, by the rules of fate itself, should attract automatic and unreasonable hostility the moment someone laid eyes on him.. hatred without cause, fear without logic, rejection without understanding. And yet that wasn’t happening. Instead of instinctive hostility, there was something else now. Favor. Acceptance. Even goodwill. Creatures who should recoiled from his existence will now instead look at him without malice, without that invisible pressure of rejection pressing against his skin… And all that because of one tittle?

As for the reason why system registered only a 1.07 percent alteration.. Like so small? Maybe because the effect was currently limited to the ocean and its domain, not the entire world, and mild because the favor was not overwhelming. But it was real. Tangible. And more importantly, it was proof. Proof that the so-called inevitability of his fate had cracks. If he could do this.. if he could erode the qualifications required for him to remain a villain then maybe, just maybe, he could one day throw away this useless, accursed duty entirely. A duty he had never asked for. A role forced onto him by a world that demanded balance through his destruction.

Razeal’s lips curved upward, slowly at first, then more clearly, the smile growing brighter as the realization settled fully into his mind. Who would have thought that something as stupid and simple.. As marrying someone would be the thing that allowed him to change his fate and destiny? The irony made his lips curved up more. His crimson eyes shimmered faintly, reflecting not madness, but clarity, as if a door he hadn’t even known existed had finally been pushed open.

While on the outside, Arthur who was supposed to be enjoying the sudden, shocking expressions of this innocent, dumb dude who didn’t even know what the first surprise was was suddenly taken aback by sudden and fast changes in Razeal expressions.

Arthur watched as Razeal remain in shock for a few seconds when it was declared that Razeal would now be marrying the First Princess for winning first position. But the shock and confusion on Razeal’s face were gone in just a minute or so.

It was as if he had suddenly seen something in midair.

A contemplative look appeared on his face, then it changed into him laughing a little, and then starting to smirk. The smirk slowly grew more evil, as something dark and wicked began going on inside this dude’s head.

Arthur honestly just looked at this guy’s face, the one he had once thought might be innocent and naïve.. suddenly felt like someone who had something wrong inside him. That smirk… it was evil.. So much that it started to made Arthur feel weird inside him.. beginning to feel uneasy. Very uneasy.

Is it really a good choice… to marry him to my sister? He honestly couldn’t help but ask himself as he blinked slowly, his gaze fixed on Razeal’s side profile. Razeal still wore that smirk, as if he were thinking about something.. something bad.

Arthur was obviously misunderstanding it all. If only he knew why Razeal was smirking… honestly, if he had known the real reason behind that smirk, he would have felt even worse..

Like a declaration of marriage to a princess and instead of reacting like a man who had just secured a royal bride, Razeal was lost in thoughts of fate and destiny. How this happened, how that unfolded. Not even a flicker of concern about the fact that he was now married.. MARRIED.. and would one day have children with the princess.

How dare he ignore his sister this much?

While high above, in the spectator stands, the shock was louder, messier, and far less controlled.

“Waaait.. waaait waaait, WHATTT?” Maria’s voice practically cracked as the referee’s announcement echoed through the colosseum. “Marriage? What marriage? The first prize was that?” Her mind reeled, disbelief smashing into her thoughts all at once. “What the fuck?”

Before anyone could stop her, she spun toward Neptunia, grabbed the front of her collar, and yanked her around… Who had been leaning against the railing as her gaze fixed on Razeal below, watching his expression with calm intensity. “Why didn’t you tell me?” Maria demanded, fury blazing in her eyes. “Adn who the hell is Sofia? You never said you had a sister! And also we have to stop this.. I can’t let this happen!”

Neptunia though didn’t react with anger or even showed struggle. She just simply looked down at Maria with calm expressions. “I don’t have any sister,” she said evenly, her voice carrying an unsettling authority. Slowly, deliberately, she lifted her hand and removed Maria’s grip from her collar, forcing her to let go without resistance.

Maria realizing too late how aggressive she had been as she let go of her dress as.. Bringing her hand down.”Then…?” she asked.

“My real name is Sofia,” Neptunia said calmly. “So yeah.. That’s me.”

Maria’s eyes twitched. “You hid your name too? Wow. Just… wow.” She just shook her head not wanting to comment on that for now. “Whatever. Reject this marriage. What are you, an object? A prize handed out for winning a competition? That’s disrespectful.. I mean Sooo Awwwful.. Ewwww.” She sajd while lowering her hand..As looking at Neptunia with dissapoinement.

But before Maria could fully lower her hand, Neptunia caught it. Her fingers wrapped tightly around Maria’s wrist.

“Yes,” Neptunia said quietly, “I am Sofia.” Her tone shifted, the casual calm vanishing. In its place was something cold, authoritative. “And you don’t need to concern yourself with my choices. This is what I decided.”

Rather she leaned closer, her voice dropping dangerously low. “And one more thing remove any thoughts you have about my husband. Immediately. Or I will do it for you.”

“H-hu… husband.. Waaaa..what?” Maria suddenly stammered as her mouth opening wide…
