Chapter 867: Mission: Gunmetal Gold Invasion

Chapter 867: Mission: Gunmetal Gold Invasion

Teaching the students through conventional means wasn’t his style. He wouldn’t be able to do much that way. Instead, Compass Carburettor proceeded to place the students in various scenarios.

Endless scenarios. Send in the Secret Society members to enact various roles and make the students experience that. In this world, they were the sole heroes, their failure meant loss of life. Experience was the most vital tool and currency that one must accumulate, irrespective of their profession.

With enough experience, even a weaker person would easily defeat someone stronger. Take his own life for example. All the time, he was against beings that were way stronger than himself.

But using his cunning and wit, and by taking advantage of his limited experience and applying it in various situations, Compass Carburettor managed to survive and emerge victorious, enjoying a profitable battle most of the time.

Here, he was teaching the students the same. Not just should they accumulate experience regarding different solutions, but they must also be capable of flexibly applying the experience of one situation to something completely different.

Suppose a person knew how to play basketball. Throwing the ball through the hoop was his speciality. Then, he should use the experience gained from that sport everywhere.

Suppose he was rushing through the crowd? Treat everyone as your opponents and juggle through them.

Need to dance? Just repeat the usual training exercise and modify it a little, maybe smile and shake your hands wider.

If you can do one thing correctly, then apply it everywhere. Adapt that one experience to all situations.

Compass Carburettor was a merchant at heart. So, in every situation, he treated it as a trade. He wanted Mental Energy and hence acted as a Spirit which eventually led to the creation of the Secret Society.

From the very beginning, he brought unknown variables into his playing field and defeated them with experience. This was why he managed to reach where he had.

For the students, he had to make this their instinct. They would explore their powers on their own and develop them according to their needs.

They should keep thinking of ways to better themselves, to use their powers in various situations to achieve their objective. This was all that he planned to teach them. And for that to be successful, he had an army of Secret Society members that would enact the perfect roles to bring about the necessary situations.

“Hah! That was exhausting.” Millie said as she was sprawled on the floor in exhaustion, noticing that at the moment when everyone wasn’t paying attention, the city reverted to their training hall.

The asphalt she was sprawled upon had now become the smooth floors of the training hall. ‘Compass has mysterious powers.’

“So, how was the simulation?” Compass Carburettor clapped to gain their attention before speaking, “Was the Invader as scary as before?”

“He was still strong.” Millie said, watching her suit revert into the original uniform, “Without this protective clothing, more than half of us would have died. And this one’s pressure was nothing compared to the one you faced. I couldn’t even breathe before that one.”

“You needn’t worry about that.” Compass Carburettor smiled, “You’ll continue to fight various opponents, from Villains to Invaders and experience everything. Over time, I’ll strengthen them.”

“You’ll be able to fight against an actual Invader soon enough.” Saying so, he dismissed the class and returned to the faculty room, focused as he recalled everything that happened.

Through the scenario, he vicariously lived through their perspective, gaining a better outlook on himself. Moreover, it was finally time as his figure vanished, appearing at the Hero Association Headquarters, noticing a team of twenty people donned in suits, carrying large cages with them.

Two dragon plushies accompanied them as the group entered a futuristic plane.

At the lead was Platinum Head, his expression stoic but oozing absolute confidence. He noticed Compass Carburettor’s presence and nodded in his direction.

‘Well, I don’t think it is necessary. But just in case,’ Thinking as such, he planted a Virus Cell on the aircraft.

The preparations were done soon after as droves of reporters had congregated at the scene, observing the aircraft engines begin ignition.

Suddenly, the crowd clamoured as all attention was placed on a figure that just came out. She was a lady with hair that seemed like it was made from the night sky, her starlight eyes full of power, automatically giving people a sense of confidence.

Genesis Hero!

She stopped soon after and saluted towards the aircraft, “Return Victorious!”

“Return Victorious!” The crowd shouted in response as the scene was telecasted all over the world.

“Ouch, I got a cramp in my leg…” Millie winced as she wiped her sweat with a wet towel, noticing the television in the corridor switch on and display news. It was kept there to keep them informed of all Hero and Villain activities, to make them used to such a life as professional Heroes.

The news showed the scene of the Genesis Hero sending off the aircraft that was about to invade the world of the Invaders.

“Eh? Wait a second!” Suddenly, Vahor exclaimed in shock before pointing at a corner of the screen, “Isn’t that professor Compass? When did he get there?”

“The Hero Association is more than 2000 kilometres away from here.”

“Teleportation?” Millie frowned, “How many powers does he have?”

With the eyes of the world on the news, Compass Carburettor took in a deep breath before morphing his vision, noticing Mental Energy streams congregate at the place from all over the world.

And that cluster of energy was absorbed by one of the two dragon plushies within the aircraft who then condensed it into itself.

“They need to evade the Invaders on the barrier’s surface before being able to make the jump into the world of the enemies.” Lion’s Share muttered as he arrived next to Compass Carburettor, asking without shifting his glance from the sky, “Will they succeed?”

“Yup,” Compass Carburettor muttered in confidence, for only he was able to sense the startling amount of abilities being birthed by the Mental Energy streams through the dragon plushie using this opportunity. He could sense Stencil unleashing a torrential amount of power, harnessing the essence of the world itself to fuel this mission.

After all, the success or failure of this mission would determine whether or not the power System Stencil worked on was potent against the Systems.
