I Hate Systems

Chapter 794: The Second Way of Survival

Chapter 794: The Second Way of Survival

“Shiiittt…” Immortal wheezed in response, staring at the attack from Apocalypse, ‘Is this where I’m killed?’

Him dying here didn’t mean much in the grand scheme of things. After all, Immortal wasn’t a flesh-and-blood entity. He was a Genre Representative. Meaning, as long as the cultivation genre existed, he would remain alive.

Even if he was killed, he would be revived shortly after. But, Immortal was nervous because the moment he dies, all the Grade 3 Systems targeting him would attack Stencil next. And that wasn’t something he wished to see.

After all, through Stencil, he was seeing hope for the revival of his genre.

‘Should I do it here?’ Immortal thought for a moment, wondering if he should unleash his trump card. But, a moment later, upon sensing the energy from Hazen’s Cultivation World funnelling into him, he refrained from doing so, ‘No, this is too premature. If they notice the traits of that world, they would target it immediately. And in my present state, I cannot leave this place to defend that world.’

Immortal stared at the Regression System, a gigantic entity surpassing three hundred metres in height, the largest in the apocalyptic setting, ‘This fucker’s power has already enveloped this bubble. The moment I take anyone out of this place, their age would regress.’

Immortal wasn’t affected by that, but the case couldn’t be said for Hazen, Gehera, and Compass Carburettor. Even Stencil would be affected, since the Immortal fragment in her wasn’t large enough to endure Regression’s power.

Therefore, something had to be done about Regression first before Truck-Kun could leave with the four important characters. And until then, Immortal had to endure and do something. ‘But, I’m losing power. Shit!’

Thousands of holes riddled his body as Spiritual Energy, Immortal Energy, and a variety of energy found in the various Cultivation Worlds funnelling into him escaped. This caused him to lose power constantly while the Waning Essence System continued to consume his power.

“Hmph!” Suddenly, Immortal snorted as he unleashed a seal, the runes of which revolved around and defended against Apocalypse’s attack, suddenly diverting it through spatial transfer.

“What?” Apocalypse was stunned in response, seeing Immortal unleash this ability for the first time since their age-long fights.

“Why you…” Magister turned around in alarm, staring at Apocalypse’s power slamming into him and wrecking past thousands of defensive magic circles. But right when it seemed like the power would injure him, a scroll flew out of his body and opened, revealing a magic circle with an empty centre, one that lit up to unleash a suction force.

It instantly absorbed Apocalypse’s attack as immediately, Magister grinned, causing a magic circle to flash underneath Waning Essence System before a pillar of flames enveloped it.

The flames danced, sparking colours of all hues, resulting in Waning Essence’s scream to echo out, “Kiiyaahhhh!”

“Break!” Suddenly, followed by the flash of a sword slash, one of the edges of the magic circle broke apart, causing the magic circle’s effect to be disrupted.

Taking the chance, Waning Essence System escaped while the World Spirit System healed it immediately.

“Tch!” Glaring at Immortal for a moment, Magister stared at the Grade 3 Systems, observing that his body was morphing gradually too, getting accustomed to the apocalyptic setting, ‘The longer I fight here, the more dangerous it gets for me. Thankfully, Apocalypse’s power cannot cut off the power supply from my worlds.’

Magister then stared at Immortal’s wounded figure, ‘You’ve made your choice, Immortal. The ideals of Compass don’t conform with what we wish for. So, no Genre Representative will support you.’

“You’re on your own, Immortal.” Magister worded it without a change in tone, eyeing Truck-Kun upon noticing the other party’s glare. He didn’t bother explaining to Truck-Kun.

After all, among the Genre Representatives, Truck-Kun was almost a lonely existence. It was because he represented a concept and was closely tied to Mascot. In the grand war against the Systems, Truck-Kun never made a difference.

The most he could do was transmigrate Systems to dangerous worlds, which never harmed them and just served to delay them a little. And this was mostly against Grade 2 Systems, with him failing the majority of the time in transmigrating a Grade 3 System.

And he was absolutely useless against a Grade 4 System, which was primarily fought against by either Mascot or Magister, and the Immortal of the past.

Despite his powers, Technocraft wasn’t equipped to face the Grade 4 Systems. And unless something was done about the peak powers, the Systems would continue to maintain their dominance.

This was why despite Truck-Kun advocating an alliance in every Genre Representative meeting, not many paid any heed to his words.

“Hmph, that seems to be the last of your power. Now, die!” Apocalypse shouted upon seeing the helpless figure of Immortal, unleashing an attack full of corruption, strong enough to destroy Immortal.

Beep!

Suddenly, a dozen trucks slammed into the attack, kamikaze style, exploding to stall the attack for a moment, during which a truck rushed past Immortal as Compass Carburettor grabbed him.

“Hurry, patch his injuries.” Compass Carburettor said, eyeing Stencil, “Your Secret Refiner System should be able to handle these injuries, right? Especially since you have a fragment of him in you.”

“I’ll try,” Saying so, Stencil drilled bolts of lightning into Immortal’s body, noticing that although she was able to treat the injuries, the process was too slow.

“It’s better than nothing.” Immortal thanked her, circulating his power through her to hasten his recovery. As the wounds were closed once after another, power stopped leaking out of his body, allowing him to accumulate strength bit by bit.

“Guys, we aren’t out of the woods, YET!” Truck-Kun shrieked as Apocalypse targeted them once again, shouting as he stared at them, “Do something!”

“Leave it to me.” Compass Carburettor said as he glared at Immortal, focusing on all the energy leaking out of him, almost causing his body to destabilise from the strain as an explosive stream of Mental Fragments formed.

Immediately after, they leaked out of the truck, causing Truck-Kun to stare in surprise as the Mental Energy accumulated through the region to transform into Mental Fragments that created a massive construct surrounding the truck itself.

Immediately after, the figure of the truck vanished as Apocalypse glared, sensing a spatial disturbance in the place. Currently surrounding the truck was a Realm, mobile, in Truck-Kun’s control. A Grade 2 System launched an attack at the Realm, surprised when the Realm tanked it.
