Chapter 511: Dwun’s Despair
Chapter 511: Dwun’s Despair
“Impossible!” Dwun felt like losing his mind, noticing when the dust cleared that his attack failed to even near the jet-black figure.
Bellowing loudly to curb the sense of fear and anxiety growing in him, Dwun went all out to unleash the strongest shockwave that he had ever produced.
Unlike the shockwaves he typically unleashed, this version was compressed into a sphere that slammed forth with a terrifying rotation, possessing enough drilling force to penetrate through anything.
Though by the time it crossed half the distance, its edges vanished as its size quickly shrunk.
By the time it had arrived three metres before the jet-black figure, the shockwave sphere vanished completely.
“Is this all you’re capable of, Dwun?” The jet-black figure slowly spoke, the words condescending, also containing a hint of disappointment.
To the battle-minded Dwun, when his opponent expressed disappointment against him, especially during fights, he wasn’t able to endure it.
“You damn! Bastard!” Dwun bellowed as he attacked again, only to see his attack vanish before approaching the jet-black figure.
“Alright, I’ll make it easier for you.” The jet-black figure said slowly, jumping down from the pearl pillar as it began to slowly walk towards Dwun, standing within arm’s reach of the other party, “You aren’t strong enough to pierce through the barrier I had erected around that pillar. Anyway, now that I’m outside, let’s see if you can still do something.”
“Right…Dwun?” The jet-black figure sounded seductively proactive.
This was the first time he had been so blatantly insulted as his entire figure trembled, with rage soon clouding his entire being as Dwun lashed out with all his strength, targeting the jet-black figure’s head, intending to pulverise it into smithereens.
Boom!
A shockwave spread out from the gauntlet, causing sparkles that turned into plasma due to the rapid spike in temperature. In his anger, he had surpassed his limits, also expending his lifeforce to make the attack as strong as possible, already surpassing the Cultivation World’s limits to the strength an individual at the peak cultivation could exhibit.
Bang!
The impact slammed into the jet-black figure, eliciting a thunderclap as the entirety of the sand around them flew away like a tsunami due to the resounding explosion. Dwun began to fall downward, noticing a tough layer of bedrock situated 20 metres below him.
The layer of sand only existed for a depth of twenty metres. And now that it had been sent flying away, he began to fall.
Dwun had truly unleashed an attack surpassing limits that he didn’t know was possible. But, he wasn’t in the least pleased with the accomplishment, something that typically excited him the most.
After all, calmly falling alongside him, still maintained at an arm’s reach was the jet-black figure, uninjured. As for Dwun’s fist, there was a paper-thin gap between it and the jet-black figure.
But, this paper-thin gap seemed insurmountable. And upon seeing that the best of his attacks failed to even reach his enemy, despair kicked him in full swing, causing his fighting spirit to plummet to such an extent that he didn’t even bother cushioning his fall.
Bang!
When his figure fell on the ground, craters formed as a result, signifying the extent of strength his body had reached.
But after his fall, Dwun didn’t get up, staring blankly at the figure before him, one that resembled a prehistoric mountain, spanning a height surpassing a dozen kilometres. And he, a mere ant at the base of the mountain, not even having enough lifespan to scale to the peak.
Dwun recalled the time around nineteen years ago when Compass Carburettor was nothing in his eyes, just a rat that was killed by him casually.
And in the mere span of twenty years, he became a monster of unimaginable proportions, the depth of his power impossible to fathom. “H-How?”
“You don’t need to know, Dwun.” Suddenly, a familiar voice resounded. Dwun was shocked, turning around as he noticed a youth walking toward him casually.
Upon seeing his figure, Dwun felt like breaking his head, for nothing made sense anymore, “Didn’t you die? How are you here? You shouldn’t be alive until the next loop starts, Rhizen!”
“You don’t need to know,” Rhizen stated plainly as he slowly clenched his hand into a fist.
“Keuk!” Dwun grunted in alarm, sensing that something from him was being siphoned, screaming in shock once he realised what was happening, “You’re stealing my luck?”
“Congratulations on the correct answer,” Rhizen stated as he slowly began to devour Dwun’s luck, causing him to become even more vulnerable.
The Happy-Go-Lucky System staying in his mind was alarmed, hurriedly activating a luck-based ability to break Dwun out of this situation.
But suddenly, the sky of the Reality Marble was covered by the Main Character’s luck, blocking out all means of escape. Even if this luck wished to take advantage of any variables, there weren’t any variables at play in the Reality Marble, a domain fully under Compass Carburettor’s control.
And in terms of using luck to manipulate cause and effect to forcefully save Dwun, The Main Character’s Luck acted as a blanket that stopped everything.
And, the Happy-Go-Lucky System stared at the Main Character’s luck, bellowing in alarm, “How the heck can you hide your luck? It’s not an ability you have!”
“Well, the expert of Luck taught it to me.” The jet-black figure said as the Main Character Luck only seemed like a tiny flame in comparison to Dwun’s raging luck.
But, the Happy-Go-Lucky System was still able to feel a tremendous stream of luck hindering its luck. And only the Main Character’s Luck was capable of making it feel this way, ‘Did he level up already?’
‘No, that shouldn’t be possible thanks to the Restriction Order!” It bellowed, but strangely, fear set within it too, for the first time in its long life as it stared at the jet-black figure through the eyes of Dwun.
And for some reason, it felt like the jet-black figure was capable of seeing it through that line of sight.
“How much longer?” The jet-black figure asked Rhizen.
“Around an hour or so.” Rhizen replied, “The Happy-Go-Lucky System is one of the strongest among their genre. It’s a simple but potent luck, so it takes time to steal it while also restricting it.”
