Chapter 489: Arena Secret Realm

Chapter 489: Arena Secret Realm

Whoa!

The crowd cheered as a man with a large build collapsed on the ground in a pool of his own blood. His face was smashed into a pulp while his limbs hung like a whip, the bones within crushed beyond belief.

The man was a pretty famed character, and his death riled up the crowd’s excitement.

The event anchor shouted through his Martial Spirit that resembled a mike. He was at the Martial Origin Stage, having fused with a sound-related fusion material. He didn’t have any offensive abilities, cultivated solely to become an anchor.

And he did a damn well job at that, riling up the crowd.

“The three-time champion bites the dust so easily. Do we have a new winner? Will the previous record be broken once again tonight?” He shouted enthusiastically.

“Encore!”

“Encore!”

The crowd began to chant as the anchor shouted with renewed excitement, “Good news! The Martial King has prepared a new contender for our darkhorse, warrior Dwun!”

He then paused, grinning when the eyes of the crowd trailed upon him, shouting as he pointed at the entrance, “Give it up for the Beast Lord!”

Roar!

The crowd lost their mind, roaring as fighting spirit filled up the entire area.

It was an arena, one that spanned a kilometre in radius. It was a massive place. But the surprising thing was the fact that all the spectators were at the Martial Origin Stage, numbering in the millions, all cheering for the fights that happened, possessing exceptional eyesight to see the fights that happened so far away from their seats.

The arena was similar to a colosseum but the primary difference was the fact that this was actually a Secret Realm whose very purpose itself was the arena.

This Secret Realm was connected to countless Realms through which strong races entered it all the time. Those that participate and win their fights would move up the rankings, winning rewards every time they won.

And the greater their ranking, the better the rewards. And these rewards were bestowed by the Secret Realm itself, a reason cultivators from all sorts of races arrived here.

The arena had two leagues that competed separately: The Origin League and the Providence League.

Those at the Martial Origin Stage participated in the Origin League while those at the Providence Stage participated in the Providence League.

The matches were generally simple with a fixed setup. All of them were death matches while the terrain would be selected by the Secret Realm itself, one that was the worst matchup for both the participating cultivators at an equal level.

This made the fight fair while also keeping things as exciting as possible. And the match would only end at the death of one of the competitors.

Of course, the current participant was none other than Dwun, fighting in the Origin League. He had already attained the peak of the Martial Origin Stage, accumulating as many resources as possible for his eventual breakthrough.

Currently, he had almost reached the top. Now, he only needed to fight against those at the top of the Origin League. Typically, those that attained this position would begin preparations for their breakthrough and enter the Providence League.

But, there were hefty rewards for maintaining their position here, something given every month like a reward, for as long as they maintained their ranking, a privilege only available to the top of the league.

There were 21 slots in total, termed the 21 Stars. Typically, those forming the 21 Stars weren’t easily replaceable, since they would be a cut above the rest even among the Origin League.

After all, everyone at this rank pretty much had a Heaven Martial Spirit, with each hailing from various Realms. The only way someone new would enter the ranks is if one of them broke through to the Martial Providence Stage and entered the Providence League.

Dwun had entered the Origin League two years ago when he entered the Martial Origin Stage. And after that, he had rapidly worked his way up through countless bloodbaths, practically carving out his techniques through life and death battles.

After all, this was what he was most suited towards.

And as he was the Host of the Happy-Go-Lucky System, such an action benefitted him instead. After all, the Hosts of the Happy-Go-Lucky System weren’t those that schemed or raised an army. They just lived out their life without concerns and became overpowered, with none capable of hindering their rise to the top.

And now, it had begun as Dwun’s opponent was ranked 21st in the Origin League, nicknamed the Beast Lord. Only those at the Star rankings had nicknames in the Origin League.

The moment his opponent arrived, Dwun smirked, clamping his fists to produce a resounding clang.

Heaven Martial Spirit—Sound Gauntlet!

It was a simple and direct ability, one most suitable for him since he had wielded similar abilities in the Apocalypse World.

As for the material he had fused with, it turned his body into a diamond.

It wasn’t something like a diamond body, but was rather a carbon-reinforced body, allowing him to reconstruct his body passively.

And this was a passive ability, allowing him to reconstruct his body based on his fights.

He had long since turned his bones carbon-based, raising its toughness while also imbuing in it the capability to absorb shock. His ligaments became tougher while retaining their elasticity.

His skin became harder while also maintaining shock dispersion and elasticity, allowing him to move without problems.

Based on what he experienced in his fights, he tweaked his body little by little, making it stronger after every match. He used his wealth of experience to modify it as much as he could, growing all the more stronger.

And now, he watched the arena turning into a terrain riddled with pebbles. And slowly, twisters descended from the sky, picking up the pebbles before tossing them out in every direction.

The reason Dwun continued to fight here was the fact that the arena truly ensured the fights were equal terrain-wise. Meaning, it also calculated his massive luck, creating an environment that targeted him more.

So, it meant that he didn’t even have a sliver of advantage over his opponent, neither did the other party over him.

And that was what made the fights so exciting.
