Chapter 427: This Can Happen?

Chapter 427: This Can Happen?

Compass Carburettor snapped his finger, unleashing a crisp sound in a certain frequency. Immediately after, a nearby cultivator approached him, saying curtly before leaving right after, “Xuer is nearby.”

‘So, only Xuer can be a reinforcement.’ Compass Carburettor was worried. After all, if it had been either Ranze or Grisha, he would be more confident in facing the battle against two System Hosts. But, he wasn’t that confident in Xuer.

Because at the end of the day, she was just a cultivator with a Heaven Martial Spirit, even if she was technically considered the female lead of this world if it became a plot.

Ranze had the Trash Divine Martial Spirit, making him strong and unpredictable. Grisha was pretty much an extension of himself. So, she too was supported by his innate luck.

Both of them had enough foundation to go against a System Host. But, he wasn’t able to determine that for Xuer. It was because, her role wasn’t exactly the female lead, but Ranze’s love interest.

This meant that the size of her fate practically depended on Ranze. Even though at present, she was the only love interest, cultivation stories had an infamy of harem most of the time.

If it happened, it would diminish Xuer’s fate, preventing her from going toe-to-toe against a System Host.

Honestly, he didn’t have such fears before entering the Folkan Secret Realm. He had been assured by Ranze’s words of him only seeking to have Xuer as his love interest.

But, before entering the Secret Realm, Compass Carburettor gazed upon a figure originating from the strongest Clan of the Gaider Realm.

Bunuela!

Normally, if a female from a strong Clan had a powerful Martial Spirit, she wouldn’t make a love rival, at least in cases where the protagonist had a tight rein on his pants like Ranze.

But, the reason Compass Carburettor suspected her was because her Martial Spirit was the Fire Crane.

Xuer had the Ice Crane, causing them to share similarities now. Similarities in crane, and with opposing attributes of ice and fire. This was why he was worried.

In many stories, people with a dynamic of ice and fire were cast together.

‘I should prepare for a contingency.’ He thought, snapping his finger when a nearby cultivator approached him, “Ask Ranze and Grisha to come to the Imperial Treasury.”

The cultivator walked away, whistling in response after a couple of minutes had passed. Immediately, the sounds of whistles echoed everywhere before vanishing abruptly.

Every cultivator that he came across was turned into a Sleeper Cell. And now, Compass Carburettor was seeing the benefits.

He didn’t wait for the two to arrive, feeling that moving as a group might only affect their luck as a whole due to their opponents.

He then closed his eyes, sensing the recovery rate of his Origin Essence, ‘It has increased a bit more.’

His Blood Vitality Grass was still growing. And hence, as it grew, the rate of Origin Essence absorption continued to increase. This would continue until the limit has been reached, which was determined by his cultivation base—Origin Essence quantity and quality.

The Claw Wolf that was in the same state began to move now.

Compass Carburettor observed the treasures within the golems, not bothering with any that was below ten metres in height. He had similar treasures with him already.

What he was hoping for was a powerful pill that might raise his strength, a suitable Origin Art, Cultivation Technique, and a weapon apt for him.

His Cultivation Technique was shoddy. Or to be frank, he didn’t even practice a Cultivation Technique. Since his Mind Frog was a Heaven Grade Martial Spirit, he had a fast cultivation speed.

But, this couldn’t continue in the future.

After all, until now, the Folkan Secret Realm was the reason his enemies remained at the Ninth Layer of the Origin Refinement Stage. But after this, none of them would halt their cultivation but would be racing to their utmost possibility to raise their cultivation as quickly as possible.

In that situation, not having a Cultivation Technique would delay his cultivation speed. He had been working on creating a Cultivation Technique of his own, but it was easier said than done. He didn’t have good reference materials that proved useful.

So, he at least hoped to get a Cultivation Technique that could serve as his reference.

As for Artifacts, it was the same case here too. An Artifact would be created to be suitable for certain attributes. And to achieve that, materials of the same attributes were necessary.

But for him, he was unable to find any materials with the Mind Attribute. There was only Helk’s Martial Spirit. But that was in his Dimensional Space. So, he couldn’t use it.

He had left it there in case Gana planned to do something with it to save Stencil.

So, without any materials of the Mind attribute, Compass Carburettor didn’t have a suitable weapon to use. This was why he was hoping to find something suitable all along.

‘It definitely wouldn’t be easy.’ He sighed, soon heading deeper into the Imperial Treasury. The size of the golems continued to increase while their movements also turned sharper.

Soon after, it was getting harder for even the Claw Wolf to evade their attacks. He had already arrived deep into the Imperial Treasury, barely able to spot a few cultivators here and there.

They were all exceptional geniuses from their respective Clans and Sects. ‘They aren’t here too.’

He frowned, worrying immediately as he feared that the System Hosts had already reached the centre and were probably on the verge of defeating and seizing the treasures from the strongest of golems there.

“Faster.” He urged the Claw Wolf, using his Origin Art of Snag to hinder the golem attacks, allowing the Claw Wolf to dodge freely and head deeper into the region.

He passed through two doors along the way, with each signalling a region, starting from the outermost region where there were mostly Trash Grade treasures. Following it was the inner region with Human Grade treasures.

Currently, Compass Carburettor was proceeding through the core region where there were only Earth Grade treasures. Honestly, even he was interested to see what kind of treasures lay in here.

But, that could wait until he dealt with his enemies. After all, there weren’t many that were capable of seizing Earth Grade treasures. So, they would be more than enough for him to obtain.

He first had to take care of Velcorn and Holla. Thinking as such, Compass Carburettor passed through the third gate, arriving at the centre of the Imperial Treasury, instantly gasping in shock at what he witnessed.

For, he saw the figures of Velcorn and Holla, beaten and battered, thrown into a cage by a Platinum Golem that spanned a height of 50 metres, the biggest of its kind here.

“The heck?” Compass Carburettor was flabbergasted as he gazed at the unconscious figures of the two System Hosts, “This can happen?”
