I Hate Systems

Chapter 10: Tricky Situation

Chapter 10: Tricky Situation

‘W-W-What the hell was that?’ Compass Carburettor was barely able to think as even his thoughts were in a fluster. The System that went away looked no different to a deer, even if it was four times bigger.

But when he looked at it, intense dread filled up his entire being. This was being transmitted from the part of the Money-Making System that had been turned into his. It was also what had been allowing him to sense the threat of other Systems.

And, the deer registered in his mind as a mountain, unscalable and unshakable. If he was being targeted by a being of such a scale, then it was easy to just give up on his life, surviving was impossible.

It took him a couple of hours to regain his bearing as he barely stood up, taking in ragged breaths as he shook his head, calming himself down to a controllable extent. Just as he planned to cross the trench, he noticed that he was no longer able to sense a sense of threat from the other side.

It seemed the System he was planning to track had already gone on to its next world.

Sighing, he closed his eyes, sensing the directions of other sense of dangers, soon picking out the weakest among them as he arrived at a spot behind a boulder, peeking out to see a relatively huge System that was three metres in height stand in the place.

It was a long vertical column that was covered by chains. And placed at the end of each chain was a collar, constricting the neck of what seemed to be heads. And, judging by their facial features and their long flowing hair, they all seemed to be women from various races, all beautiful.

They were lacking their bodies, chained down by their necks. And, what he thought of as a pillar was the core of the System. And, another pair of chains appeared from its front, pierced into the body of a humanoid figure that barely spanned a metre in height, sporting short, stubby limbs and a bulging stomach.

It was green in colour, sporting a hat that looked like the upper jaw of a person. The figure had large-overgrown pair of eyes that darted around in fear from time to time, hurrying as its belly continued to bulge.

Twenty minutes later, it spat out a murky green fluid that outlined a circle. All the murky green fluid seeped into the circle as it expanded in size, soon turning into a portal that was three metres in size, enough for it to enter inside.

The tiny figure walked forward, easily dragging the pillar with it as the numerous heads chained to it groaned in pain from time to time. The portal showed the image of a busty woman that was seated on a throne.

She had a regal aura around her just based on her seated posture alone as she gave commands. And, the receiver seemed to be kneeling on the ground before her. And judging by the way the point of view changed from the woman to touch the ground and repeated numerous times, it seemed the target was kowtowing.

There were quite a few figures that stood as guards in the place, all humans. Moreover, standing behind the Queen were those that seemed to be puppets of sorts as they didn’t seem lifelike. But they moved from time to time based on the Queen’s orders.

‘Alright, this is a world with humans. At least, that’s a plus. And, they have puppets with them that can move, probably golems. I’ll enter this world and understand the gist of things of being a System Slayer first. And, this System seems weaker than Money-Making System, so hopefully, I can target it later.’

Compass Carburettor summoned his gun and carefully aimed at the portal as carefully as possible so that he wouldn’t alert the System of his existence. His heart continued to thump in tension as he took in deep breaths, calming himself as he steadied his aim.

Soon, the moment the pillar belonging to the System entered the portal, the portal began to shrink, looking like it would disappear within a second. Without any hesitation, Compass Carburettor took a shot.

There wasn’t even the sound of a gunshot as that was one of the traits of his gun, no gunshot sounds and no knockback. The bullet landed on the portal as he immediately felt his vision blur for a moment before he found himself in a hallway.

Right at this time, the loud voice of a woman resounded through the place, “Regriel, as part of Royalty, you have failed to possess any talent and have only managed to scourge through our kingdom’s funds. Hereby, I strip you of your status and banish you from the Imperial Palace.”

The voice was thunderous, causing the guards posted through the hallway to shudder in fear as the armour they wore even rattled a little. Once the shout died down, a couple of guards escorted a fat man in his twenties by dragging him on the floor and exited the palace.

The hallway Compass Carburettor had arrived at was one of the paths that led into the throne room. So, it was heavily guarded. Until now, as all the guards were distracted by the loud noise and seemed to be internally cheering the target of abuse; they failed to notice his figure that had appeared in the place as naturally as air.

Once the fat prince had been escorted out, their attention fell on him almost instantly as they directed their swords at him, surrounding him.

“Halt!”

Upon seeing the swords pointed at him, Compass Carburettor hurriedly raised his hands, not displaying a hint of resistance while thinking, ‘I don’t know their language, but for some reason, the meaning is automatically getting conveyed to me. That’s a convenient perk.’

As he had appeared in the hallway right next to the throne room, he was immediately surrounded by more than twenty guards. One of them immediately entered the throne room and reported about him to the Queen.
