Alta Marchesi and her girlfriend Eira Medwin have earned themselves a nice, long vacation away from the dangers and academic toil of Dungeon School. Making their way to an island resort on the Swordwind Sea, just past the borders of the Mortal Kingdoms, they plan on getting some sun, sand, waves, and fancy cocktails with the little umbrellas in them. But things, as they always seem to, start getting increasingly strange. Disappearing resort guests, reports of monstrous creatures emerging from the depths, rumors of a mysterious structure in the deep tropical jungle that hums in the moonlight, and rising tensions between two factions of what seem to be surfer cults are threatening to disrupt Alta's romantic getaway. On top of that, a looming dread approaches. Alta will finally meet Eira's parents.
