I grow stronger by making my wife happy.

Chapter 432: 432:Online.
Silver gave her a flat look.
"Because pulling beast cores out of nowhere in the middle of the academy seems like a terrible way to keep my storage ability private."
Ravenna considered.
"I didn’t think of that."
He smiled.
"What did you think I meant?"
"Nothing."
"You definitely thought something."
"I didn’t."
He leaned closer but she pushed his face away with her free hand.
"Walk."
He laughed.
They continued.
Ravenna eventually asked, "If it’s suitable, when do you think I should integrate it?"
"Not tonight."
"I wasn’t going to."
Silver looked at her.
Ravenna looked forward.
"I wasn’t."
"Atleast you know that."
"If course, we have lessons tomorrow I’m not in that much of a hurry."
"Keep that up."
Ravenna sighed.
"You’re going to become unbearable now that you’re pretending to be responsible."
"Pretending? Why would I do that?"
"You drove through the night because you wanted to reach academy admissions."
Silver paused.
"That was responsible."
"That was insane."
"I still made it."
"That doesn’t make it responsible."
He thought about arguing but decided she had too much evidence.
"Anyway, we’ll inspect the core first."
Ravenna nodded.
"If it doesn’t suit you, we find something else."
"You don’t mind?"
Silver frowned.
"Why would I?"
"It’s your core."
"So?"
"Tier Two cores aren’t worthless."
He looked at her.
"Ravenna."
She looked back.
"If it makes you stronger, it’s not wasted."
Her expression softened.
Silver continued before she could become too sentimental about it.
"Besides, if you become ridiculously strong, I can make you carry everything."
Her expression immediately flattened.
"You almost said something sweet but you just had to go ahead and ruin in," she said in frustration.
"I did say something sweet," he defended himself.
"Then you ruined it," she snapped back.
"I improved it."
Ravenna shook her head.
Silver smiled.
They had reached the point where the road divided toward the male and female dormitory districts.
Both slowed automatically.
Yesterday they had spent an embarrassing amount of time here refusing to separate.
Silver remembered the repeated kisses. Ravenna apparently did too because she looked toward him and smiled.
"We have to be awake early."
"Unfortunately."
"And Peter said seven."
"I remember."
"I want breakfast first."
"Six?"
"Six fifteen."
Silver grimaced.
"That’s unreasonable."
"You survived a Rank Six beast."
"Everyone keeps using that against me."
She laughed.
He looked at her.
"Six fifteen."
"Good."
They remained there for another moment.
Silver still held her hand. Ravenna looked down, then back at him.
"We’re doing it again."
He knew exactly what she meant: standing there and not leaving.
"Apparently."
She stepped closer.
Silver placed a hand lightly against her waist. She kissed him, a warm and comfortable kiss. When they separated, Silver kissed her forehead.
Ravenna smiled.
"Goodnight."
"Goodnight."
She started to release his hand but he held on for another second.
Ravenna raised an eyebrow.
He finally released her.
"Six fifteen," she repeated.
"I’ll be there," he replied.
"If you’re asleep, I’m sending someone upstairs again."
"That’s abusive."
"Goodnight, Silver."
She turned and left. He watched her walk several steps before Ravenna looked back.
He was still there.
She smiled and waved. He waved back. Then they finally went in opposite directions.
---
Male Dormitory Seven was considerably louder than it had been yesterday.
Everyone had now completed their first official academy day, which apparently meant every corridor had become a debate hall.
Silver heard arguments about class placements before he even reached the third floor.
Class One was strongest.
No, Class Three had more ranged specialists.
Class Six had several excellent general-entry students.
Class Four had three top-ten leadership candidates.
Someone claimed the leadership board didn’t matter.
Someone else immediately asked why they were ranked if it didn’t matter.
He ignored all of it and continued through the semi crowded dormitory hallway.
He reached Room 314 and opened the door. Antony was lying sideways across his bed, Jude sat at his desk reading and Dillian was cleaning his sword.
Antony looked toward Silver.
"There he is," he cheerfully said.
Silver closed the door.
"Unfortunately."
"How was Class Four?"
"Fine."
"That’s all?" He said incredulously.
"What do you want?" Silver asked in resignation.
"Drama."
He thought about Shirley.
"Some."
Antony sat upright.
"I knew it."
Silver immediately regretted speaking.
"What happened?" He asked.
"Nothing important, now go back to sleeping."
"You can’t say drama and then say nothing important."
"I can."
"That’s cruel."
Jude didn’t look away from his reading.
"How was your class, Antony?"
Antony turned to him, clearly pleased with the attention.
"Traumatic."
Silver started removing his uniform jacket.
"What happened?" He asked.
"They made me do the physical assessment twice."
Silver stopped, then laughed.
Antony pointed at him.
"Exactly the wrong response."
"Male and female?"
"Yes."
"That makes sense," Silver said.
"Rebecca said the same thing."
"Because it makes sense."
"I had to do endurance twice."
Silver smiled.
"Sounds educational."
"I hate this academy."
"You were celebrating admission yesterday."
"People change."
Dillian finally spoke.
"Within twenty-four hours?"
"Growth can be rapid."
Jude turned a page.
Silver sat on his bed. His body felt pleasantly tired. It was a very different feeling from the crushing fatigue of Death Row Valley.
He preferred this.
Antony continued complaining about his instructor. Silver listened with half an ear, as his thoughts returning to Ravenna.
Strength beast.
He’d inspect the core tomorrow. Maybe use Insight if the system...
Silver froze.
Something had changed inside him. A sensation he hadn’t realized he’d been missing until it returned.
Antony was still speaking.
"...and then she tells me my female configuration has better balance, as though I didn’t already know that, but apparently..."
Silver heard a sound.
A notification.
His eyes widened slightly, then another appeared.
[Synchronization: 100%.]
Silver stopped breathing for half a second.
Finally.
Antony’s voice faded into the background.
A second prompt appeared.
[System Upgrade Completed.]
Silver stared in anticipation. After days of silence, the familiar interface unfolded before him.
Then the words he had been waiting to see appeared.
[Happiness System Online.]
Silver leaned back slowly, a smile spreading across his face.
Antony stopped talking.
"Why are you smiling like that?"
Silver looked at him.
"Nothing."
Antony narrowed his eyes.
"That’s never true."
Silver barely heard him as more notifications appeared.
[Stage One Relationship Requirements Completed.]
[Final Synchronization Confirmed.]
[Accumulated Rewards Calculating...]
Silver’s smile disappeared.
Accumulated?
Then the notifications began arriving.
One... then another... Then another... And another.
Silver sat straighter.
Antony stared his confusion becoming more appearent.
"Are you sure you’re okay?" He asked
Silver didn’t answer as he stared at the series of notifications.
The Happiness System had been silent for days and apparently it had been keeping count.
