"So delicious, meow~"

"Can I have another piece?"

"Delicious, one more."

Pearl, Zharok, and Liora had already finished their first slices and were staring eagerly at Ethan, wanting more.

It seemed everyone was very satisfied with the cake, Iris thought to herself, ’If the Human-Faced Spider likes this cake as well, that would be wonderful.’

She took another bite and shivered with delight.

"How’s the taste?" Ethan asked her.

"I-it’s too delicious... I’m really worried that once I go back, I’ll never be able to eat a cake this good ever again."

"Haha, you flatter me, it seems this cake should be fine, I’ll make another one to bring to her."

Ethan baked another strawberry cake and packed it into a box, he then led the group back to the Purple Forest.

Perhaps waiting for them, the Human-Faced Spider had returned to where they first met, eating fruit while watching them approach.

"You seem quite confident, let me see what delicious food you made." She smiled and extended a hand toward Ethan.

Ethan brought out the cake and handed it to her.

She inspected the cake curiously and asked, "What is this?"

"Strawberry cake."

"Are those wild strawberries on top? Is this thing edible?"

Instead of answering, Ethan cut a slice, placed it on a plate, and handed it to her, then he poured a glass of strawberry milkshake and offered that too.

The Human-Faced Spider sniffed the cake and the milkshake, then said coldly, "You didn’t poison this, did you? I’ll have you know I’m immune to poisons, you’d best not try any tricks."

"I don’t make a habit of poisoning food."

"Good, but if I’m not satisfied, don’t even think about discussing a trade."

"I know."

She picked up a fork, scooped up a piece of cake, and put it in her mouth.

The next second, she froze completely.

’I knew it, I knew it!’ Iris thought to herself, that was her exact reaction when she took her first bite of the cake, she waited nervously for the verdict.

"WOW, what is this?!!"

Right as expected, the Human-Faced Spider’s eyes sparkled with sheer excitement, she stared fixedly at the cake, her body trembling slightly as if looking upon a holy relic, she scooped up another piece of cake, put it in her mouth, and shivered with delight.

"It’s too delicious."

"I’m glad you like it."

Feeling that she couldn’t let this human get his way so easily, the Human-Faced Spider quickly backpedaled. "N-no, it tastes terrible."

"Is that so? Then I’ll pack this away—"

"No, don’t, you can’t take it away." Seeing Ethan reaching to pack away the rest of the cake, the Human-Faced Spider instantly panicked, she snatched the cake away and began devouring it hungrily.

Perhaps due to her exaggerated reaction, the initially terrifying atmosphere instantly turned rather comical.

The cake on her plate vanished in the blink of an eye, she licked the plate completely clean, then looked at Ethan longingly and asked, "I-is there more?"

"Are you satisfied?"

"Seems like you’re not. Then we’ll just eat the rest ourselves."

"...I am very satisfied, give it to me quickly." Seeing Ethan about to distribute the rest of the cake to everyone else, she looked like she was about to cry from anxiety.

Seeing this, Ethan had no choice but to give the rest of the cake to her.

The Human-Faced Spider took the cake, cut a huge slice, and stuffed it into her mouth, humming a tune as she ate, she didn’t stop until she had eaten half the cake, finally satisfied, she chugged the milkshake, let out a long sigh, placed the cake box onto the giant spider’s back, and declared, "Fine, I admit it — you win, you said you wanted to cultivate Doll Grass? Where do you want to plant it?"

"My fields are just a short distance ahead, I want to plant it there."

"Then I’ll come release my aura for you, however..."

"I will have strawberry cakes prepared."

"Haha, you catch on quick, kid." The Human-Faced Spider was in a great mood, she slung her arm around Ethan’s shoulder and burst into a hearty laugh.

It seemed they wouldn’t have to fight after all, Iris let out a long sigh of relief.

The Human-Faced Spider patted Ethan’s chest. "You’re quite interesting, much better than that guy who came by a while ago, he was also from the Chaos faction, but his personality was absolute trash."

"You’re talking about...?"

"A guy who looks a bit like you, goes by Doppelganger, truly a troublesome fellow."

"How long ago is a while ago, meow?"

"A few months ago, maybe? That guy suddenly ran into my territory and asked me to join them, completely absurd, I chased him out immediately."

"Join them? Does this mean the Doppelganger has a faction backing him?"

"I don’t know the exact details, but judging by his tone, it seems he was gathering Children of Chaos for some grand scheme."

"What grand scheme?"

"Who knows? Maybe they want to exterminate humanity completely?"

"What are you talking about, meow? Exterminate humanity? Hasn’t humanity already disappeared?"

"What? You guys actually don’t know anything?" She grinned.

"Do you want me to tell you?"

"I’ll make you a strawberry cake."

"Ehh~" She draped herself against the giant spider and began.

"The reason humans disappeared from this world is because they came into conflict with the Children of Chaos, the Children of Chaos wanted to monopolize this world, and humanity fought a fierce war to stop them, ultimately, humanity was defeated and disappeared from this world."

A single strawberry cake had actually bought an earth-shattering secret.

However, Ethan still had some doubts, what exact method did the Children of Chaos use to make humanity disappear completely?

"B-but isn’t there still a human right here?" Iris pointed at Ethan.

The Human-Faced Spider shook her head, staring straight at Ethan with her crimson eyes. "This human doesn’t seem to be from this world, am I right?"

"That’s right." Ethan nodded, he knew that for some reason, he had transmigrated from Earth to this world.

Zharok looked at him in surprise. "Really?"

"Yeah, it’s true."

"Why didn’t you say so earlier?"

"Is it that important?" Regardless of where he came from, he was human, that fact wouldn’t change, he felt there was no need to specifically emphasize it.

"That’s true, Ethan is Ethan." Zharok thought about it and felt Ethan’s words made sense.

Pearl wagged its tail beside them. "Now isn’t the time to be discussing this, meow, the important thing is how exactly the Children of Chaos exterminated humanity, and where humanity went, meow~"

"Also, what conspiracy the Children of Chaos are brewing this time."

"I don’t know the exact details, I’m not one of them."

"Useless, meow~"

"What did you say? Do you want a beating?" The Human-Faced Spider was enraged and raised her hand as if to strike Pearl.

Seeing this, Pearl hurriedly hid behind Ethan.

The Human-Faced Spider reached out to grab Pearl, Ethan quickly caught her hand and said, "Regardless, the information you provided is very valuable, to think the Children of Chaos actually exterminated the entire human race, and now they are stirring up trouble again, we really do need to be careful."
