“I’ve destroyed all of the Celestial Net Department’s Secret Treasures.”

“So no one can have them.”

Han Yuan said softly.

“COUGH COUGH COUGH…”

“It doesn’t matter…”

“Even without the Nautical Chart… we can still find the Immortal Sect!”

Wooden Snake laughed maniacally.

Han Yuan frowned at his words.

POW!

He wasted no more words on Wooden Snake, ending his life with a single punch.

“Director Cheng, where is the Treasure Pavilion?”

Han Yuan glanced at the Celestial Net Department’s battlefield.

Cheng Xuan and two other Divine Sea Experts were still locked in a fierce battle with the other three High Priests.

Han Yuan had no intention of offering support.

His only thought now was reaching the Treasure Pavilion.

“To the east!”

Cheng Huang, who was in the middle of a deadly fight with Deceitful Bull, heard Han Yuan’s question and roared in response.

“Got it! Just hold on a little longer!”

“The Imperial Family’s reinforcements should be here!”

Without another word, Han Yuan turned and sped east.

He sped past countless buildings before finally stopping in front of a massive structure.

It was a seven-story tower built from gray stone, simple yet grand in its design.

At this moment.

Dense Array Patterns had appeared around the enormous building, surging with a terrifying, destructive divine light.

It was clear that a mysterious and powerful Array guarded the Treasure Pavilion.

Two Spiritual Technique Abnormal People stood at different points on the Array Patterns, using the power of the mysterious Array to engage a mysterious man in black.

On the ground lay three corpses, each with a pierced throat.

They were fallen Spiritual Technique Abnormal People.

The mysterious man in black was simply too powerful; even with the Array’s aid, they were no match for him.

RUMBLE!!

Streaks of brilliant, divine light shot out, only to be dodged by the mysterious man in black.

Just as the mysterious man in black was about to strike down one of the Spiritual Technique Abnormal People, he suddenly felt a world-shaking killing intent wash over him.

WHOOSH!

A streak of black light shot in from the distance at incredible speed.

The mysterious man in black sensed the killing intent, his expression changing in alarm. Without a moment’s hesitation, he turned to flee.

He possessed an incredible leaping ability. With a single bound, he shot high into the air, seeming to push off the air itself. After a few more leaps, he swiftly vanished from Han Yuan’s sight.

‘That guy… must be the Rabbit among the Twelve High Priests.’

A glint appeared in Han Yuan’s eyes.

‘When Wooden Snake was spouting all that nonsense, I knew something was off.’

‘Just as I thought. Another High Priest was trying to use the chaos at the Celestial Net Department to sneak into the Treasure Pavilion.’

‘It’s a good thing I got here in time.’

‘Any later, and those last two Spiritual Technique Abnormal People would have been killed. The Array wouldn’t have been able to protect the Treasure Pavilion.’

‘Then, the Nautical Chart might have actually fallen into the hands of the Immortal Sect Organization.’

“Are you two alright?”

Han Yuan looked toward the two Spiritual Technique Abnormal People.

These two Abnormal People were already near the end of their natural lifespans. After their battle with the man in black, they were completely spent, holding on by a thread of sheer will.

With Han Yuan’s arrival, that thread finally snapped.

“Young man… tell the Director… we old-timers defended the Treasure Pavilion.”

One of the Abnormal People said with a weak chuckle.

“I will.”

Han Yuan sensed their physical condition and gave a calm nod.

“I thought I’d just fade away and die unknown!”

“Never expected I’d get to defend the Treasure Pavilion one last time before I died.”

“This was worth it.”

The other Abnormal Person began to laugh heartily.

Both of them sat down cross-legged, slowly closed their eyes, and their life force gradually faded away.

Han Yuan let out a slow, heavy breath. “May you journey on peacefully, seniors,” he said softly.

After that, Han Yuan went nowhere, choosing to stand guard over the Treasure Pavilion.

He sat boldly on the steps and began circulating his Five Emperors Great Demon Divine Skill, generating Wood Evil Qi to rapidly heal his body.

This was the terrifying power of the Five Emperors Great Demon Divine Skill: each of the Five Elements Evil Qi possessed a different ability.

Wood Evil Qi could rapidly heal injuries, while Water Evil Qi could rapidly restore True Qi.

This meant that as long as Han Yuan wasn’t killed instantly, he could almost always continue fighting at peak strength.

Just as he was recovering, a massive explosion suddenly ripped through the air from a distance!

BOOM!!!

The blast felt as if a colossal bomb had been dropped from the sky. Even from his position at the Treasure Pavilion, Han Yuan could feel the ground tremble violently.

Han Yuan’s eyes narrowed as he looked toward the source of the explosion.

It was the direction he had just come from.

The explosion was horrifyingly powerful, and he could feel an intensely malevolent aura from it.

“Looks like one of the Immortal Sect High Priests self-destructed…”

Han Yuan muttered to himself.

However, he didn’t get up to investigate, choosing to remain where he was.

‘In this situation, as long as I guard the Treasure Pavilion, the Immortal Sect Organization’s entire plan will be for nothing.’

A short while later, several more rumbles echoed from even farther away.

That was the direction where the monstrous behemoth had appeared.

The battle there must have reached a fever pitch.

But Han Yuan remained as still as a mountain. No matter what happened, he would continue to stand guard here.

After a long time… the downpour finally ceased.

The pale white of dawn was breaking in the distant sky.

Han Yuan saw Cheng Xuan approaching.

The Vice Director of the Celestial Net Department was covered in wounds, staggering as he walked.

“Thank goodness you were here… Otherwise, the Treasure Pavilion would have been in real danger.”

As he spoke, Cheng Xuan sat down beside Han Yuan.

“You should be thanking them…”

“They asked me to give your Director a message.”

Han Yuan gestured to the two lifeless Abnormal People and the other corpses on the ground.

“What message?” Despite his grave injuries, Cheng Xuan’s expression grew solemn when he heard this.

“Young man, tell the Director, we old-timers defended the Treasure Pavilion.”

“Those were their exact words.”

Han Yuan said softly.

Cheng Xuan took a deep breath and said earnestly, “I will relay the message to the Director.”

Han Yuan nodded, then asked, “How many of the Immortal Sect High Priests escaped?”

“Shortly after you left, the Crown Prince arrived with masters from the Imperial Family. We joined forces against the three Immortal Sect High Priests and the prisoners who’d escaped the dungeons. Deceitful Bull saw that the situation was turning against them and immediately self-destructed… covering the escape of Soul Chicken and Resentful Pig,” Cheng Xuan said gravely.

“Deceitful Bull… was he Du Honghao?” Han Yuan asked quietly.

He wasn’t entirely sure himself.

“Yes… No one ever imagined he was hidden that deep.”

“And for him to self-destruct just like that, without a second thought.”

Cheng Xuan let out a soft sigh.

Deceitful Bull’s self-destruction had caused grievous casualties among the Celestial Net Department’s ranks.

“Wooden Snake’s plan was truly brilliant…”

Han Yuan said quietly.

“And yet, you were the one who saw through it in the end.”

Cheng Xuan said, a note of relief in his voice.

If anyone other than Han Yuan had seen through the plot today, it likely would have been for nothing.

Han Yuan’s strength was definitely approaching the level of Ling Yunzi and the Director.

“I felt something was off from the very beginning, but I couldn’t put my finger on it…”

“It was only after I asked Zhou Mingwu that I was sure.”

“In fact, Wooden Snake even had Evil Tiger set up an ambush to kill me on the way here.”

Han Yuan said quietly.

“It’s incredible that Wooden Snake planned for almost everything.”

“A pity for him he never anticipated that you would be so terrifyingly strong.”

Cheng Xuan nodded.

“Let’s put that aside… what’s the situation at the city gates?”

Han Yuan inquired.

That was another main battlefront.

‘If Ling Yunzi and the Director of the Celestial Net Department working together couldn’t even stop that monstrous behemoth, my only choice is to leave first.’

“The monster dissolved into countless streams of black energy and vanished…”

“It’s just… after tonight… the number of dead and wounded will surely exceed a million…”

Cheng Xuan said, his voice laced with helplessness.

The initial chain of explosions had already caused a great number of casualties.

But the worst was when the monstrous behemoth appeared and tore down the city wall.

That single moment alone caused several hundred thousand deaths and injuries.

Han Yuan didn’t know what to say and could only let out a soft sigh.

“Actually, this outcome is better than it could have been.”

“If the Immortal Sect Organization had managed to get the Nautical Chart…”

“I’m afraid all the people of the Great Li Dynasty would have suffered a terrible fate.”

Cheng Xuan said quietly.

“Before Wooden Snake died, he told me that even without the Nautical Chart, they can still find the Immortal Sect’s location.”

Han Yuan looked up and said quietly.

“That’s impossible…” Cheng Xuan frowned.

He figured Wooden Snake was just bluffing.

“That… I’ll leave for you to investigate.”

Han Yuan said.

“Mm… I’ll be sure to look into it.” Cheng Xuan nodded.

He, too, was afraid that the Immortal Sect Organization might actually have another way.
