The rest of the floors were the same.

One had to find the staircases, then beat the mini boss. Those bosses were the pleasure to everyone as they gave those juicy stats after beating. The upper mini bosses were stronger and so the stat bonus!

Only Maria had it the worst if one excluded the battle with bosses.

Each floor needed her to be the bait for the ghosts. Those ghosts were disgusting, scary and annoying together with the influence coming from the tower. She was always crying and screaming before becoming the bait which was also saddening the husband.

However, nothing could be done!

"This is the key."

One of the keys to be precise!

After Kyoya's party arrived at the top and cleaned its content, the small orb that was like a soul popped from the boss. It floated without any owner, so Kyoya just grasped it and put it within his inventory.

It was one of the keys required to the throne room.

"I think others could see that we have taken this tower for ourselves."

Josef spoke during the return while giving his back to his girlfriend. At some point, Kyoya and him expected the arrival of other adventurers, but no one of these appeared here. Of course, it was unlikely that everyone stepped into the dark castle, but if they did so, then other towers should be under conquest as well.

"It sucks because we are losing mini bosses."

"That's what I thought!"

"Me too!"

"Damn mini bosses… Why were there so few of them? My heart needs more of these to cure!"

Since the party was stacked in the equipment, medicines and even had a healer, the mini bosses weren't a problem unless their intangible bodies became too problematic. It was all reduced to the keen eyesight to find those clues.

As the party found themselves on the first floor, Kyoya told everyone to prepare as there might be traps set out outside.

"There is that twin tail woman and the guardian family's woman. Two parties at most with some adventurers…"

"Yes, what's the plan? I think our clearing speed was fine, but we can't underestimate other parties."

"I get it, Xiaoxiao… Let's strike others."

"You sure, Kyoya?"

"Yes. We can't lose the minibosses, can we?"

The bonuses from the mini bosses were just too good. The ghosts were like souls, but the same should apply to the other bosses no matter what kind of form they might be. Kyoya believed it to be the truth solely because all of these were born out of the death god's divine energy.

When the doors opened, Kyoya's eyes scouted the surroundings, then he stepped outside. It looked like there weren't any traps and the same could be said about other adventurers. No one was around here meaning that they should be within the other towers.

"Six more, so let's go for this one. It should have the adventurer party inside."

It was easy to tell whether the tower was occupied as the flags atop these were flapping too much. Besides, the deathly aura was continuously exuded by the towers so it was surely the ghosts or other monsters having their own fun within those.

Thus, the husband took the closest tower and stepped inside.

As one would have guessed, the first floor was dead silent. It was void of any soul and body, but upon closer inspection Kyoya could see through the darkness and spot some battle marks.

It wasn't easy, but it seemed like conquering one tower was giving them an ability to see through more things in this pitch darkness.

"Oh, I can see the key to find staircases."

This made Maria scream with happiness, then the rest of the party nodded. However, Xiaoxiao reaction was a bit late and she herself had her eyes going all over the floor. It seemed like she was the next target of the floor's influence, so Kyoya turned his attention to her.

There was no way he would just brush it off and ask for the effects.

First of all, Kyoya took Xiaoxiao's hand gently and made her look into his eyes.

"How do you feel, Xiaoxiao?"

"I think… I saw something… This floor should make some hallucinations or something similar to this."

"I see. If it becomes too unbearable, then immediately tell me."

"Of course, leader. I will immediately reach out for you."

As Xiaoxiao flashed her usual and sweet smile to reassure the husband, she took the spot behind him as that was what Kyoya wanted her to. They could use these hallucinations to their advantage and different tactics had to be used with another party already clearing up floors here.

That was why the party slowly moved forward with the key within their hands.

At the fifth floor, Kyoya and his party could hear the sound of the battle going on. In the middle of this room, a woman with a huge scythe behind her back stood out! Her short, black hair seemed spiky and a little tomboyish! Her whole equipment was seeming noble as she wore a general like suit. Her movement wasn't disturbed at all and when the ghost monster emerged from the shadows with its intangible body, the lady just swung her scythe that let out the dark aura. The monster that passed through her allies couldn't do the same against her scythe! And her aura had a similar feeling!

This aura was similar to the death god's divine energy which tinged the husband and Xaya's senses!

'It looks like she casually cut through the ghost… or she found a clue already… But I would bet on the former.'

'Me too.'

'I agree.'

The party whispered between themselves as they eyed the woman from the guardian family. Her weapon totally betrayed her affiliation, but did she need to hide it at all? The husband narrowed his eyes as he tried to see through the origin of her scythe!
