I Got Reincarnated as a Zombie Girl

Chapter 563 - 559 – A NEW APARTMENT AND SHOPPING TIME

  • Next Chapter

Stepping out of the Hunter Association building with a balance of 750,000 Credits inside her black-gold VIP Access Card, Sylvia’s steps felt extremely light. However, instead of immediately exploring the city market to search for unique items, the Queen of Death stopped in the building’s courtyard.

She looked at her clothing, then glanced at Sol and Noir. If she had to keep staying in public inns or return to foreign places filled with the coming and going of mortal humans, her comfort would be disturbed. Before spending her pocket money on merchandise, the first thing she needed was a private residence, a temporary base where she could rest without interruption.

To the right of the Hunter Association building stood a two-story neoclassical-style building with clean stained-glass walls. Above its door was a large gold-plated nameplate: ’Black Lotus Elite Housing & Property’.

Sylvia smiled faintly. An extremely strategic location. Placing a property sales office right beside the Hunter Association where Zombie Hunters and mages had just liquidated their abundant hunting results was a very clever marketing trick. Hunters whose pockets had just been filled would very easily be tempted to immediately invest their credits in a safe residence inside the city.

Without hesitation, Sylvia stepped into the property office.

The moment the glass door opened, a neatly suited male sales staff standing near the reception desk immediately turned. The man’s eyes instantly sparkled brightly as though he had found a pure gold nugget in the middle of the road. Sylvia’s extremely elegant appearance, her expensive evening gown, and the presence of two mysterious-aura-emitting magical animals were an undeniable signal of a high-class buyer.

"Welcome, most elegant Miss!" the salesman greeted with the friendliest smile and a highly trained bow. His hands swiftly guided Sylvia toward an exclusive lounge area filled with soft leather sofas. "It is an honor for us to receive your visit. I am Raymond, a senior property consultant here. Are you currently looking for a dream residence in Black Lotus City?"

Sylvia sat on the leather sofa with extremely graceful movements. Sol leapt from her shoulder and curled leisurely in the lap of her evening gown, while Noir chose to sit silently beside the sofa’s leg, staring at Raymond with its cold red eyes.

"I need a place to stay," Sylvia said without preamble, her voice calm and flowing beautifully. "Something comfortable, safe, and ready to move into today."

"Of course, Miss!" Raymond responded with full enthusiasm. He quickly waved his hand, activating a magic projector above the teak-stone table. Three-dimensional images of various luxurious buildings immediately appeared and floated in the air.

"If Miss desires the highest comfort and prestige, I highly recommend the God Garden Villa in the Upper District," Raymond promoted with sparkling eyes, pointing at a miniature three-story villa equipped with a magical swimming pool and a vast flower garden. "This villa possesses independent magic-circuit defenses, an extremely spacious courtyard, as well as a direct view toward the city lake. It is a true symbol of luxury for high-ranking officials and high-level mages!"

Sylvia gazed at the three-dimensional projection of the gigantic villa. Its appearance was indeed magnificent, yet she slowly shook her head.

"Too spacious," Sylvia replied casually. "I did not bring a retinue of servants here. Maintaining a place of that size just for myself and these two small animals would be troublesome and inefficient."

Raymond was momentarily stunned, yet as an experienced salesman he quickly shifted the magic projector’s display to another category.

"Ah, a very practical and wise thought, Miss!" Raymond praised quickly. "In that case, how about a Penthouse unit in the Silver Tower Apartment Building? Located on the topmost floor of a fifty-story structure, close to the city center, possessing a high-level security system, and sized perfectly for a quiet private residence."

Sylvia observed the three-dimensional floor plan of the apartment. The unit had an extremely spacious living room with gigantic glass windows overlooking the entire city view, two main bedrooms, a quiet study, and a private balcony open to the sky. The interior decoration used dark teak wood and white marble, appearing elegant yet not excessive.

"Suitable," Sylvia assessed. The space was large enough to give Sol and Noir freedom of movement, yet not so vast that it felt empty and troublesome. "I wish to see the location in person right now."

"With pleasure, Miss! Allow me to take you there using our company vehicle!" Raymond exclaimed joyfully.

Raymond immediately guided Sylvia out toward a special parking courtyard behind the office. There, a glossy black magical limousine powered by a mana-crystal engine was already parked. Raymond very politely opened the rear door for Sylvia, ensuring the girl’s evening gown did not get caught.

The magical vehicle glided smoothly through the concrete streets of Black Lotus City. During the journey, Sylvia observed the city scenery from behind the protective glass windows. It took only about ten minutes before the limousine stopped in front of a magnificent skyscraper made of steel alloy and black stained glass, the Silver Tower Apartment Building.

Raymond guided Sylvia upward using a high-speed magical elevator straight to the topmost floor.

The moment the elevator doors opened on the fiftieth floor, the fragrant scent of sandalwood and clean air from the magical filtration system immediately assaulted the sense of smell. Raymond opened the gold-engraved double doors leading to the penthouse unit.

The apartment’s interior looked even more astonishing in person than in the projection. The afternoon sunlight streamed in through the gigantic glass walls of the living room, refracting golden colors across the gleaming white marble floor. The furnishings inside were made of high-quality materials, arranged extremely neatly and cleanly without a single speck of dust.

Sol leapt from Sylvia’s shoulder, trotted across the marble floor, then jumped onto the soft sofa in the middle of the room and scratched its body contentedly. Meanwhile, Noir walked toward the gigantic glass windows, gazing at the vast panorama of the entire Black Lotus City spread out below.

"The atmosphere is quite good," Sylvia said, walking around the living room and testing the softness of the sofa material with her fingers. "The view is beautiful, and most importantly, this place is sufficiently quiet."

"This place is equipped with sound-isolation arrays and external magic-sensor inhibitors, Miss," Raymond added confidently. "Your privacy is guaranteed one hundred percent safe here."

"Good. I will take this place," Sylvia decided without the slightest hesitation.

Raymond’s eyes widened with joy. "An extremely outstanding choice, Miss! For the registration process and transfer of ownership rights, the total price for this Silver Tower Penthouse unit is 100,000 Credits, already including all furnishings and security-circuit maintenance fees for five years!"

One hundred thousand credits was an extremely fantastical figure for ordinary residents, enough to purchase ten ordinary houses in the lower districts. Yet for Sylvia, who had just pocketed 750,000 Credits from selling a few ordinary monster cores, this price felt extremely cheap. It was like buying a bottle of drinking water by the roadside.

"Complete the documents now," Sylvia said.

She took out her black-gold VIP Access Card. Raymond, with trembling hands, brought a portable alchemical transaction device. With a single light swipe, 100,000 Credits officially changed hands. Raymond quickly processed the magical ownership documents and handed the main crystal key along with a special resident access card to Sylvia.

"Congratulations, Miss! The Silver Tower Penthouse unit is now fully yours by law!" Raymond bowed deeply, handing over the notarized ownership papers. "If you require any assistance regarding maintenance or additional services, you only need to press the summoning button in the living room."

"Thank you, you may leave now," Sylvia said calmly.

After Raymond excused himself and withdrew with a beaming face because he had just received a large commission, Sylvia allowed her unit door to close automatically. She walked toward the outer balcony, enjoying the cool evening breeze on the fiftieth floor.

"Not a bad roosting place for the next few days," Sylvia murmured to herself.

Yet she had no intention of remaining idle in the room. Now that the housing matter was settled and a temporary base had been obtained, the real time for enjoyment had arrived.

"Let us see what can be bought with the remaining 650,000 Credits," Sylvia’s smile widened.

She called Sol and Noir. Sol leapt back onto her shoulder, while Noir entered her shadow. Sylvia walked down using the magical elevator, left the Silver Tower, and stepped out toward the main shopping district of Black Lotus City, which was now beginning to be illuminated by thousands of colorful magic lamps.

The night market in the main district of this large city was truly a visual feast. Rows of shops and luxurious stalls displayed various miraculous goods rarely found elsewhere. There were potion sellers displaying neon-colored liquids in crystal bottles, alchemy-material sellers offering rare monster hides and bones, and magical jewelry shops radiating captivating glows.

Sylvia walked from one shop to another leisurely, enjoying the shopping experience in this new world.

The first shop she entered was a large-scale exotic spice and food-ingredient store. Here, Sylvia used her credits without hesitation to buy various types of local magic tea, mutated plant seasonings with unique aromas, and the highest-quality herbivore monster meats that had already been cleansed of mana toxins. Although this food did not increase her power, Sylvia greatly enjoyed the taste and culinary sensations of every new dimension she visited.

The next shop that caught her attention was a gallery of antiques and pre-apocalypse artifacts. In this place, Sylvia purchased several old history books of the Tianhua Kingdom, more detailed maps of outer regions, and several ancient engraved crystal jewelry pieces that, although possessing no combat value, held extremely high artistic aesthetics.

Sol was not left out of receiving its "share" of this shopping event. At a specialized Tamer materials shop, Sylvia bought several pure Light Element Crystal Stones. Although for Sol those crystals tasted no better than lightly flavored hard candy, the golden dragon in cat form greatly enjoyed the moments of chewing the crystals atop Sylvia’s shoulder.

Every time Sylvia took out her black-gold VIP Access Card to pay for the items she bought, the shop owners would immediately bow respectfully and serve her like a goddess. In less than two hours, Sylvia had spent tens of thousands of credits purchasing various items that caught her interest, storing them all into her Spatial Ring dimension without burden.

Walking beneath the canopy of the city’s glittering magic lamps, surrounded by the bustling traffic of mortal humans, and accompanied by her two pets, Sylvia fully enjoyed this moment of leisure.
