Chapter 3753 - 3744: Red Envelope for Addressing-In-Laws
Chapter 3753: Chapter 3744: Red Envelope for Addressing-In-Laws
"Bringing a child and luggage can be inconvenient, it’s normal to be slow, don’t worry."
"I’m mainly curious about what my new sister-in-law looks like. I asked my brother for a photo, but he wouldn’t give me one," Ning Yue said angrily:
"The most annoying thing is, he wouldn’t even let me see a picture of the child."
"Maybe second brother wants to give us a surprise, so he hasn’t revealed much."
"I still have to talk to him, it’s just too much."
"I think I see second brother."
"Where? Where?"
"Just outside the door, wearing a black top."
"I see him too, let’s go over there quickly." Ning Yue pulled Qu Xuanhe’s hand and ran towards the entrance.
"My brother said my sister-in-law is a civil servant, but she doesn’t look like one."
Qu Xuanhe nodded, "She really doesn’t seem like one, but it’s possible she has a naturally good demeanor. After all, second brother has always had good taste."
"It feels like my sister-in-law wasn’t a civil servant before. She might have gotten such a job through my brother’s connections after getting together with him."
"That’s entirely possible."
They quickened their pace, getting closer and closer.
Lin Yi and Liang Ruoxu also saw Ning Yue.
Before this, Liang Ruoxu had recognized everyone in Lin Yi’s family through photos.
Although there were some differences between the photos and real people, she recognized them at a glance.
"Sister-in-law, I’m Ning Yue, this is my husband Qu Xuanhe."
"Hello, hello."
Liang Ruoxu said warmly, not showing any signs of nervousness, and was very composed.
This also had a lot to do with Liang Ruoxu’s work. People from large families almost always have such abilities.
After exchanging greetings, Ning Yue squatted down and picked up Little Lin Cheng.
"Let Aunt have a good look, he’s so handsome, much better looking than your dad."
Little Lin Cheng was less bold than Little Nuonuo when facing strangers and started crying, reaching out for Liang Ruoxu to hold him.
"Why are you crying when Aunt holds you, such a scaredy-cat."
Once in Liang Ruoxu’s arms, Little Lin Cheng stopped crying immediately but would sneak glances at Ning Yue.
"Brother, sister-in-law, let’s get in the car. Mom and Dad are waiting for you at home."
"Let’s go."
The family of three got into Qu Xuanhe’s business car. Ning Yue, holding pre-bought chocolates, kept playing with Little Lin Cheng, and before long, the two hit it off, and he didn’t cry even when held.
About an hour later, Qu Xuanhe drove the car to the orphanage.
Wang Cuiping, Zhao Quanfu, Wu Feiyue, and his wife were all waiting outside.
To them, this was the least they could do to show hospitality; tradition was not to be neglected.
Seeing the car arrive, the whole family rushed to greet them.
Ning Yue, holding the child, was the first to get out of the car. Upon seeing Little Lin Cheng, the old couple beamed with joy, their smiles unable to hide.
"Grandson, let Grandma hold you."
But before Wang Cuiping could take over, Little Lin Cheng started crying.
The children from the orphanage stood at the back, their eyes full of confusion and curiosity.
"Nephew, you’re on home turf now, why are you crying?" Ning Yue teased.
"It’s normal; the child is recognizing strangers."
Ning Yue handed the child to Lin Yi, and Liang Ruoxu followed her out of the car.
Seeing Wang Cuiping and Zhao Quanfu, a trace of unease appeared on Liang Ruoxu’s face.
It wasn’t due to nervousness, but rather not knowing what to call them.
According to convention, she should call them Mom and Dad, but it was the first meeting, without any ceremony or atmospheric buildup, so she felt a little shy about saying it straight away.
"Mom, have you prepared the renaming red envelope? It’s the first time visiting, without the red envelope, our sister-in-law might just call you Uncle and Aunt," Wu Feiyue joked.
"Right, right, how could I forget about that."
Wang Cuiping took out a red envelope from her pocket; by its thickness, it was clear it contained 10001 yuan, symbolizing "one in ten thousand."
This was also a tradition at the orphanage, every time a child got married, Wang Cuiping would give this renaming fee.
Wang Cuiping handed the red envelope over; Liang Ruoxu accepted it without any hesitation and called out loudly, "Mom and Dad."
"Don’t just stand there; call her Sister-in-law," Wu Feiyue said.
"Hello, Sister-in-law," the children from the orphanage echoed in unison.
Although not nervous, Liang Ruoxu was slightly embarrassed by the scene.
"I’ve also brought gifts for you all, they’ll be delivered soon, so don’t worry."
This surprised Lin Yi a bit; he hadn’t expected Liang Ruoxu to have prepared gifts for the orphanage children.
Wang Cuiping’s smile grew even broader, her eyes narrowing, and she pulled Liang Ruoxu inside, momentarily forgetting Lin Yi.
Lin Yi’s gaze landed on Sun Lili.
"Judging by your sister-in-law’s condition, she seems about to deliver, right?"
"The due date is in five days; I was thinking of admitting her to the hospital, but she said she wanted to see you and meet the sister-in-law and child before going," Sun Lili replied.
"Your sister-in-law seems to be in good condition now," Lin Yi said as he looked at Sun Lili, "Sister-in-law, stretch out your hand and I’ll feel your pulse."
Sun Lili extended her hand, and Lin Yi placed his fingers on her wrist.
"Everything seems well; it should be a boy unless there’s a surprise."
"Oh no, your brother wanted a girl. When we went for check-ups, I wanted the doctor to check in advance, but he refused, fearing it’s a boy," Sun Lili laughed.
"That’s easy, you can always have a second child later. With my brother’s capabilities, raising two kids is no problem," Lin Yi suggested.
"That depends on the situation. Being pregnant is tough; having one is enough," Wu Feiyue said.
"Look at my brother, he looks like a good man through and through."
Sun Lili also laughed, happiness all over her face.
The family entered the house, and Wang Cuiping continued to hold Liang Ruoxu’s hand, chatting away delightedly.
Liang Ruoxu, being naturally welcoming, quickly became familiar with everyone.
Lin Yi sparked a conversation and suggested Liang Ruoxu bring out the prepared gifts.
"Your presence is enough; don’t bring things next time."
Liang Ruoxu took out the items she had bought; although many of them weren’t branded, it was clear to the discerning eye that they weren’t cheap.
"I didn’t get much, Mom; see if you like the styles."
"Like, like! I love this style."
Wang Cuiping compared the clothes with herself for quite a while.
Whether she genuinely liked them or not, she liked what her daughter-in-law bought.
"First sister-in-law, look at my sister-in-law’s poise, it’s truly impressive, and so different from the second sister-in-law."
"Your sister-in-law’s demeanor is more grand, her personality and looks more like someone from the North, it’s naturally different from your second sister-in-law," Sun Lili said:
"And she’s a civil servant while your second sister-in-law is in business; the difference is normal."
"I wish I had such poise."
"You’re not bad either," Sun Lili smiled.
The family’s atmosphere was lively, chatting pleasantly for quite a while.
Soon, Liang Ruoxu’s phone rang. After answering, she looked at Lin Yi.
"The things I bought for the child have arrived, let’s go pick them up."
