Chapter 2945: Good Thing It Was Me
Chapter 2945: Chapter 2945: Good Thing It Was Me
"Damn!"
As the bullet entered his body, Lin Yi felt all the muscles in his body spasm.
His body lost balance and leaned forward.
But at the moment he landed, a strong will prevailed.
Lin Yi knelt on one knee and did not fall.
The girl he had saved also suddenly panicked, completely at a loss for what to do.
As an ordinary person, she had no concept of a shooting in her mind.
She just thought that perhaps some other accident had occurred in such an environment.
"What happened to you..."
Lin Yi did not speak. Instead, he held the girl and dashed towards the wall, trying to hide.
Just at this moment, another gunshot rang out.
Luckily, Lin Yi dodged in time, and the bullet grazed his thigh, leaving a deep bloody mark.
"Damn it!"
Lin Yi cursed through gritted teeth. When the first bullet came, he knew it was a conspiracy.
A conspiracy targeted at him!
And his instinctive reaction saved his life at that moment!
Otherwise, with the second bullet coming, whether he would have survived was a question!
The piercing pain made all his nerves spasm together.
"Are you, are you okay, why is your leg injured?"
"I’m fine."
Lin Yi said through clenched teeth and then reached for the dagger at his back waist.
In case the one who fired from the darkness appeared, he wouldn’t be caught off guard.
"Lin Yi!"
"Is the sound coming from your side!"
Liu Qingfeng’s voice came, but Lin Yi did not respond.
"I..."
"Don’t speak!"
The girl was about to speak but was interrupted by Lin Yi.
Lin Yi leaned against the wall, unable to let down his guard.
The person hiding in the shadows might become desperate.
If Liu Qingfeng came, there might still be danger.
At that point, it would not be worth the risk.
During this time, Lin Yi heard chaotic footsteps, but for a long time, they did not appear before him.
This confirmed that the one who fired from the darkness should have left.
At the same time, Lin Yi felt a chill rushing from behind.
Very likely, the fire outside had been brought under control.
The danger on his side had greatly reduced.
"I-I am over at the escape room..."
Lin Yi spoke weakly into the walkie-talkie.
Soon, Ding Fei and three others grabbed fire extinguishers and opened a path from the outside.
Without fire-resistant suits, they could only charge in this way.
When they saw the injury on Lin Yi’s leg, all three were shocked.
No one expected that such a thing could happen to Lin Yi with his physical prowess.
"Lin Bro!" Xu Chunyu exclaimed.
"Qingfeng, you take the girl out, I’ll carry Lin Yi, Chunyu, you clear the way!"
"Yes!"
Responding in unison, everyone took on their tasks.
But as Ding Fei went to pull Lin Yi, he heard him scream.
"There’s an injury on the back."
"Damn it, I really want to give you a kick, tell you to be careful."
Cursing, Ding Fei supported Lin Yi under the armpits, ready to lift him up.
Just then, the three saw the injury on Lin Yi’s back.
Xu Chunyu was alright—he was recruited from the public and didn’t know much.
But Ding Fei and Liu Qingfeng were different; they were both veterans returned from service.
They instantly recognized that the injury on Lin Yi’s back was a gunshot wound!
The two exchanged a terrified glance, completely shocked.
Though they had seen gunshot wounds before, such injuries were uncommon even during active duty.
Let alone now, after leaving the military.
"Don’t stand there stunned, quickly pull him up, I’ll carry him." Ding Fei said loudly.
The situation was urgent, and Liu Qingfeng dared not waste time, carefully lifting Lin Yi onto Ding Fei’s back.
Then he carried the girl and walked outside.
"Is the ambulance ready!"
Ding Fei shouted into the walkie-talkie.
"It’s on the way, coming soon!"
"Damn it, make them hurry. If they’re late, I’ll break their legs!"
The ones guarding outside were stunned, no one expected Ding Fei to suddenly lose his temper.
Finally, with teamwork, they managed to escape the scene.
At this moment, the members of Team One were watching from afar, waiting for Lin Yi to come out, planning to visit the spa later that evening.
"What’s the situation, why is someone being carried out?" Zhang Chaoyue said.
"The fire doesn’t seem as severe as imagined." Shao Jianfeng said.
"Damn it."
By now, Lin Yi had removed his helmet, plus being someone Team One spent every day with, they immediately recognized him.
Without hesitation, Team One rushed over.
Their minds were filled with questions.
With their leader’s skills, dealing with such a small scene would be a piece of cake; they knew something was wrong.
Team One couldn’t understand, but felt a bit anxious.
"Stay back, the fire isn’t fully under control yet!"
Seeing Team One approach, Ding Fei shouted loudly.
"Hand him over to us, we’ll take care of everything regarding him." Xiao Bing said as he revealed his credentials.
Ding Fei was even more puzzled—where had these people come from?
"Quick, carry him to the ambulance, it’s a gunshot wound!" Luo Qi shouted.
"Who the hell did this? I’ll kill him!" Zhang Chaoyue cursed loudly.
"Everybody calm down!" Yu Siying said:
"Yun Hu, you take control of the ambulance."
"Xiao Bing, Luo Qi, you follow and get on the vehicle, head to the hospital in the guard area."
"Brother Qiang, you and Chaoyue lead the way in front."
"Jianfeng, you follow me as the rear guard, quickly get the leader to the hospital."
"Okay!"
With tasks distributed, Team One took action, giving no chance for others to intervene.
The entire operation was smooth and seamless; Team Three was bewildered, not understanding a thing before the vehicle drove away.
"Squad leader, where did these people come from?" Liu Qingfeng asked.
"I don’t know, it’s too strange, but I am sure these people are definitely not ordinary." Ding Fei replied:
"Let’s report this back and see how the higher-ups handle it."
"Alright."
Meanwhile, Team One had already taken over the ambulance.
The medical staff onboard were all scared stiff.
Luo Qi was taking care of the treatment, while Xiao Bing kept an eye on the vehicle surroundings, armed.
The most absurd part was seeing Luo Qi extracting a bullet from Lin Yi.
This was a sight they wouldn’t dare dream of.
"Luckily, it didn’t hit the nerve, less than a centimeter away from the spine, really close." Luo Qi breathed a sigh of relief.
"The situation on site was chaotic, likely affecting their aim."
"Boss, lucky it was you; for an ordinary person, it would’ve gone straight through. Even for us, if it went in two centimeters deeper, we’d end up with a disability for the rest of our lives."
"Indeed, I’m fortunate, lucky it was me." Lin Yi sighed.
