Chapter 542: Arrested in Brightcrest City

Tushan Shanhe’s silver eyebrows furrowed slightly. He released a faint trace of the pressure of a Tribulation Crossing expert and continued walking toward the teleportation array.

"Let’s go. Don’t waste time on irrelevant people."

"Oh!" Xiao Shou hurriedly replied.

Just as Xiao Shou was about to follow him, the beautiful young woman’s eyes widened. She shouted furiously, "Hmph! Since you’re not members of the Ximen Clan, I don’t have to show your clan any respect! You think a mere Tribulation Crossing cultivator gives you the right to look down on me? Purple Serpent, Black Serpent, Red Serpent, teach them a lesson!"

"Fifth Young Lady, fighting is prohibited within the city. Please allow this subordinate to teach them a lesson after they leave." As the beautiful young woman spoke, three figures suddenly appeared behind her. One was a graceful woman dressed in red, with delicate features and a curvaceous figure. The aura she exuded had reached the peak of the Tribulation Crossing Stage. She respectfully made this suggestion to the young woman in a gentle voice.

The other two men, dressed in black with ordinary looking faces, also possessed the auras of late stage Tribulation Crossing cultivators. Without saying a word, they lunged toward the trio.

The surrounding onlookers cried out in alarm and hurriedly retreated, unwilling to get caught up in the fight.

Facing the two attackers, Tushan Shanhe remained motionless. He glanced at Fu Young, who looked as though he were watching a good show, and Xiao Shou, whose face showed the helplessness of someone who had become an innocent victim of trouble.

"Tsk! What a nuisance!"

As he spoke, the phantom image of the upper half of a nine tailed Terrestrial Fox Dharma Form suddenly appeared around him. Its sharp claws slashed through the air, tearing apart the protective spiritual light surrounding the two men. Before they could summon their natal spirit treasures, the claws ripped through their armor and left three bloody gashes on each of their bodies.

The two men hurriedly retreated and summoned their spirit treasures, preparing to charge forward again. Just then, more than a dozen figures clad in identical armor suddenly descended from the sky. Among them, the only figure wearing a feathered crown spirit treasure shouted sternly, "How dare you violate the city regulations and fight within the city! Those who attacked, step forward and accept your punishment!"

As soon as he finished speaking, the surrounding onlookers immediately scattered, keeping their distance as they fled in all directions like startled birds and beasts. Left standing beside the teleportation array were Xiao Shou’s group, the stunning young woman’s group, and the three men: the dark skinned man, the white robed scholar, and the chubby cultivator.

Their reaction made it seem as though the newcomers were terrifying figures, and anyone who did not run away quickly would be in for a great deal of trouble. Xiao Shou had only just formed this thought when the figure wearing the feathered crown frowned at them.

To his surprise, the first person he addressed was the beautiful young woman.

"Murong Wan, it’s you again! It hasn’t even been a month, and I’ve already caught you causing trouble again. Please stop making things difficult for the City Lord."

"Tsk! I wasn’t the one causing trouble this time. Their attitude was simply terrible! They actually dared to ignore me. If I didn’t teach them a lesson, wouldn’t that bring shame upon the Murong family? Even if Cousin Ah Shuang is the City Lord, he should understand my position as a member of the Murong family."

It looks like they’re all on the same side. This is going to be troublesome.

Listening to their conversation, Xiao Shou reached the conclusion that would normally have followed from such a situation. However, just as he was thinking this, he saw the feather crowned figure, whom he had assumed was on the young woman’s side, move his fingers.

Several chains shot out from beside him, swiftly binding the beautiful young woman, the woman in red, and the two men in black.

Only then did he speak again. "Yes, the City Lord will understand your position, but the city laws will not. I’m afraid you’ll have to spend a few more days in the city prison."

"Ah! Fifth Young Lady, why are you always so impulsive? Now you’ll have to be locked up for another six days." The woman in red sighed and pressed a hand to her forehead.

After restraining the four of them, the feather crowned man turned toward Xiao Shou’s group and the three men led by the dark skinned cultivator.

"Regardless of who was right or wrong, you violated the rules by fighting within the city. You will all accept your punishment and spend a few days in the city prison reflecting on your actions."

"Captain Beichen, we didn’t participate in the fight! We were just bystanders!" The dark skinned man surnamed Mang hurriedly protested.

Fu Young also spoke with a faint, amused smile. "No one on our side lifted a finger either!"

"Hey! You people are so shameless! Even if you didn’t attack directly, you still used magic to injure my subordinates. Look, they’re bleeding!" Hearing Fu Young’s words, the stunning young woman immediately shouted in indignation.

Captain Beichen wore an expression of utter exasperation. He casually summoned several more chains and snorted. "My job is to arrest people. The City Lord can decide who’s right and who’s wrong. Will you come along willingly, or do I have to escort you there myself?"

"Don’t fight. Just go with them and see what happens." Seeing Fu Young step forward as soon as Captain Beichen finished speaking, Tushan Shanhe worried that the vicious little brat might start another fight over the slightest disagreement. He hurriedly sent Fu Young a voice transmission to stop him.

The three men led by the dark skinned cultivator had no choice but to nod helplessly at Captain Beichen’s words and smiling bitterly. Meanwhile, Xiao Shou looked at Tushan Shanhe questioningly.
