I Evolve 10,000 Times Faster
Chapter 194: Blizzard Array
The monster’s movements slowed. Its arms locked against its sides, its legs froze together, and finally its head became trapped under another layer of frost.
Only its face remained visible.
Its red eyes were still burning.
Still furious and locked on Lyra.
She walked toward it.
The Blood-Fiend was now a frozen statue of rage and mutation, sealed inside a block of blue-white ice nearly three feet thick. Only the faint red glow behind its eyes remained, becoming weaker as the cold spread across its face.
Lyra stopped two feet away.
She looked up at the thing that had once been her uncle.
"You hurt me." Her voice was quiet. "You hurt my family. You tried to sell me like property. You hired killers. And when everything came due, you swallowed that core instead of facing what you’d done."
She reached out and placed her hand against the ice. Frost began to spread from her fingertips across the surface.
"You don’t have any power over me anymore."
The red eyes flickered.
Something moved behind them. it was not recognition or regret. Just the last fading pulse of a creature running out of everything that had kept it alive.
"You belong in the past," Lyra said.
She turned away and didn’t look back.
"Holden."
He was already moving.
Holden stepped past her, past Emric and Renna, toward the frozen block that held what remained of Aldric Sterling.
He raised the Solar-Forged Sword.
The blade ignited.
Hellfire Cleave at maximum output.
Every ounce of Holden’s energy poured into the blade at once.
FWOOOOOSH!
He swung.
The fire struck the ice and vaporized it.
Three feet of frost disappeared in a fraction of a second, and the attack continued straight through to the monster in it.
The blade passed through the Blood-Fiend below the ribs, cutting through armor, flesh, bone, and the mutated Blood-Demon Core buried in its gut in one clean arc.
The creature split at the waist.
Shhhhhhk.
Both halves crashed onto the floor.
The red light in its eyes went out.
Dark red tissue began to dissolve as the mutation’s energy faded with the destruction of the core that sustained it. Armor plates cracked and fell away. The claws retracted. The monstrous body shrank, the flesh slowly pulling back toward something almost human before breaking apart into ash.
Tsssss.
Ten seconds later, there was nothing left.
Only a pile of dark gray ash remained on the floor, along with the fading smell of smoke and burning flesh.
Then a glow appeared.
Platinum light filled the space above the ashes, bright and clean, almost white.
A Platinum Chest appeared inches above the floor and slowly spun in place.
Holden reached up and grabbed it.
The chest dissolved into his System Inventory, and the light disappeared.

The Tribunal Hall fell silent.
Lyra lowered her spear and set it on the floor carefully, like someone finally putting down a tool she had carried for far too long.
Then her knees buckled.
Holden caught her before she reached the ground.
His arms went around her, one hand supporting her back while the other cradled her head. Lyra’s fingers grabbed the front of his Phantom-Weave Armor and held on.
She was shaking.
Years of fear and anger seemed to be leaving her all at once. The weight of a family that had hurt her. The fear of an uncle who had controlled her. Everything she’d carried for years came out in shuddering breaths she couldn’t stop.
Holden said nothing.
He simply held her, his chin resting lightly against the top of her head. His heartbeat remained slow and steady, a rhythm she could feel through the armor.
Emric and Renna stood near the wall.
Emric had lowered his shield to the floor. Renna’s bow hung loosely at her side.
Neither of them spoke.
Renna’s eyes were wet. She wasn’t crying, but she blinked quickly and looked toward the ceiling.
Emric stared at the pile of ash, his expression carefully neutral. One hand remained wrapped tightly around his shield strap.
The silence lasted three minutes.
Finally, Lyra pulled away.
Her eyes were red, but her breathing had steadied and her hands had stopped shaking.
"It’s over," she said.
"It’s over," Holden replied.
"House Sterling is gone."
"It’s gone."
She wiped her eyes with the back of her hand. A small, almost invisible smile touched her lips.
"I told him he belonged in the past."
"He did," Holden said. "Now he is."
Lyra took a deep breath.
The kind that filled her lungs completely and reminded her that she was still standing.
"Okay," she said. "I’m okay."
Holden looked at her and didn’t let go for another ten seconds. Then he released her gently, keeping one hand on her arm until he was certain she was steady.
"Team Soup." His voice was quiet but firm. "We’re done here."
Emric picked up his shield. Renna slung her bow over her shoulder. Lyra retrieved her spear.
Together, they walked across the ruined hall.
They passed the broken screens, the overturned benches, the scorch marks, the frost residue, and the pile of ash that had once been a man who believed money made him untouchable.
Holden pushed open the heavy doors.
The hallway outside was packed.
Soldiers, reporters, and students filled the corridor, all of them waiting and listening to the sounds of the fight that had come through the sealed doors.
They fell silent when Team Soup emerged.
Four people stepped out of the wreckage of the courtroom, covered in dust, frost, and ash.
Vespera stood at the far end of the hallway.
Her eyes moved from Holden to Lyra, then to the ruined hall behind them. Lyra stood beside Holden, steady and composed.
Vespera’s gaze settled on Holden.
"Is it done?"
"It’s done."
Vespera nodded once.
The expression of someone who had expected exactly this outcome and was satisfied to have it confirmed.
"Good. Clean this up. I have a kingdom to run."
She turned and walked away.
