I Dumped My Mate—Now Every Beast King Wants Me
Chapter 89: Kicked an Iron Plate!
Chapter 89: Chapter 89: Kicked an Iron Plate!
"That’s right, little female! We’ve known you for a while now, but we still don’t know which tribe you’re from."
Ophelia had been waiting for this exact question. "I’m from the Fuzu Tribe."
"The Fuzu Tribe? Never heard of it. Which Beast Clan is that?"
"Isn’t your mate a Dragon Beast? Aren’t you from the Golden Dragon Clan?"
The males were rather confused upon hearing the words "Fu Clan." In the Beast World, tribes were all named after Beast Clans. They had never heard of a strange name like the Fu Clan before.
"Yes, I was originally from the Golden Dragon Clan, but now I’ve branched out and established my own tribe," she said, making no effort to hide her former identity as a member of the Golden Dragon Clan.
"You established your own tribe? How could a little female like you create a tribe?"
Ophelia laughed in response. "Can’t a little female establish a tribe? What rule says little females aren’t allowed to build tribes?"
The male who had questioned her blushed. "No, there isn’t one. I was just too surprised. I’m sorry, little female."
Ophelia waved it off. "It’s fine. You’re not the first person to say something like that."
Forgiven, the male felt even more guilty and hurriedly changed the subject. "You said we could go to the Fu Clan to trade with you in the future. Are you planning to stop coming to the trading market?"
Ophelia generously shared her vision for the future. "Yes, I plan to build some stone houses in the tribe to serve as fixed trading spots. If any of you stall owners are willing, you can come trade your goods at the Fuzu Tribe.
"Once you arrive at the Fu Clan trading market, I will draw out designated stalls for you so you won’t have to travel back and forth in the wind, rain, or scorching sun."
Indeed, this was Ophelia’s ultimate goal in establishing her tribe: to build an integrated commercial hub, a tribe dedicated entirely to external trade.
"That sounds good, but would we have to pay a fee to set up a stall there?" The stall owners weren’t fools; they knew there was no such thing as a free lunch.
Ophelia shook her head. "No, at least not for the first three years.
"However, the stalls in the Fuzu Tribe won’t be unlimited. Once they’re all taken, they’re gone. But if you consider joining the Fuzu Tribe, I can give you a stall free of charge for life."
By offering free stone houses as stalls to the public, she was issuing a disguised invitation for others to join the Fuzu Tribe. Secondly, she wanted to consolidate all the trading markets near the Golden Dragon Clan and monopolize them within the Fuzu Tribe. That way, whenever anyone wanted to trade for fruit, rice, or other goods, the first place they would think of would be the Fuzu Tribe. When that time came, she would never have to worry about finding a market for the rice, fruit, and other crops she grew.
Under a tree, Zerev listened to Ophelia talking eloquently with the others. His silver eyes narrowed slightly as he took in her confident demeanor.
It turned out that this frail and slender little female also had such a bold and self-assured side to her. He really had underestimated her.
Initially, he only felt that this little female in front of him lacked the arrogant tempers and pretentious natures of the little females in the Holy Capital. Instead, she treated people with genuine sincerity. Whether they were little females, prime males, or elderly males who were no longer of use, she was courteous to them all.
In the eyes of the little females in the Holy Capital, elderly males were worthless existences who didn’t even deserve to live in this world. But they forgot that they too would grow old one day and lose their ability to bear children.
Zerev’s silver eyes carried an indescribable emotion. As he gazed at the little female shining brightly under the sun, his hardened heart softened.
After promoting the Fuzu Tribe, Ophelia only had two Golden Pears left to sell. Seeing that no one had come by for a while, she was just about to pack up her stall.
Right then, a delicate and weak voice rang out. "Loki, it’s Ophelia."
Ophelia pinched the bridge of her nose in annoyance. Why were they everywhere? They were like sticky plaster that she just couldn’t shake off.
"Loki, how come I’ve never seen this fruit before? I wonder if it tastes good." ℯ
Loki pinched Miche’s nose and said dotingly, "If you want to eat it, I’ll trade for it.
"I brought Crystal Stones today. I’ll definitely get this fruit for you."
Miche shrank into Loki’s embrace, her face full of shyness. "Oh, there are so many people around.
"I knew you were the best."
Ophelia watched the two of them flirt as if no one else was there.
BLECH!
Loki boldly took out the Beast Skin Bag tied to his waist and said loudly, "Ophelia, I’ll take both of these fruits."
"You don’t deserve to eat my fruit! Get lost!"
Loki’s face immediately darkened, and he raised his voice. "Ophelia, don’t reject a face-saving offer. It’s your blessing that Miche fancies your fruit."
He pulled a Red Crystal Stone out of his Beast Skin Bag and tossed it onto the ground with complete nonchalance.
"I asked around. At your stall, one prey can be traded for one fruit," Loki said.
"This Red Crystal Stone is worth ten pieces of prey. I’ll use it to buy your two fruits, and you don’t need to give me change. Just consider it a reward."
A hint of coldness crept into Ophelia’s light blue eyes. "Do you not understand human speech? You don’t deserve to eat my fruit. Get lost, and don’t ever appear in front of me again!"
"Ophelia, you can’t deliberately target Loki and refuse to trade him the fruit just because he dissolved his mate relationship with you," Miche began, her voice dripping with judgment. "You’re being too petty.
"Besides, Loki isn’t even asking for change. What is there to be angry about?
"It’s precisely because you’re so stingy and calculative that Loki doesn’t like you. If you don’t change your ways, what male will dare to become your mate in the future?
"Males all like gentle little females. Your personality is just too stubborn." Her tone heavily implied that Ophelia was a lost cause.
Displeasure flashed through Ophelia’s azure eyes.
Tyler also glared angrily at Loki with a cold face. "Hurry up and get lost. If you don’t, I’ll throw you out myself."
Unintimidated by his stance, Loki craned his neck and shouted, "Come here, everyone! Quick, take a look!
"This stall owner is so greedy! A Red Crystal Stone can’t even be traded for a single fruit. Don’t come to her to trade in the future, or else you’ll get scammed!"
The people nearby all knew Ophelia and naturally didn’t believe Loki’s words. However, everyone loved watching a good spectacle, so upon hearing his shouts, they all gathered around again.
"Loki, you..." Tyler was thoroughly disgusted by Loki’s behavior.
Sitting under the tree, Zerev took all of this in. He stepped forward, his tone calm but carrying unquestionable authority. "I’ll take these two fruits."
Hearing Zerev’s words, Loki’s expression immediately turned ugly. "Who are you? I set my sights on this fruit first. Why should she give it to you?"
He then leaned close to Ophelia’s ear and threatened in a low voice, "Ophelia, you wouldn’t want to ruin your reputation in this trading market, would you? If you know what’s good for you, give me the fruit, otherwise I’ll make it impossible for you to stay in this market!"
Murderous intent flashed through Zerev’s silver eyes.
Suddenly, a suffocating feeling gripped Loki, and the veins on his neck bulged.
