Chapter 158: Chapter 158: White Dragon Clan Members Arrive

The White Dragon Clan Leader narrowed his eyes slightly. "If we can cooperate with the Fu Clan and also learn their method of growing rice, we will hold the key to endless wealth."

The young male instantly understood his father’s implications. However, his brows quickly furrowed. "But... will Ophelia be willing?"

A steady, composed expression settled on the White Dragon Clan Leader’s face. "If she isn’t willing, I naturally have other methods." He looked entirely confident in his plan.

"Father, do you mean—"

"You don’t need to worry about that," the Clan Leader interrupted. "Bai Ma, go prepare a generous gift. The day after tomorrow, you will bring Balunbu and accompany me to the one-month-old celebration."

Bai Ma was the young male’s name, and Balunbu was his son—the White Dragon Clan Leader’s grandson. Although Bai Ma had his suspicions, he didn’t press the issue since his father clearly wanted to keep his plans under wraps. Since his father had ordered him to prepare a generous gift, he would simply focus on doing just that.

Two days later, the day of the little dragon cubs’ one-month-old celebration arrived.

The males of the Fuzu Tribe voluntarily woke up early to hunt in the forest, returning just as the sun began to rise. Ophelia and Tyler also got an early start. Tyler got the bonfire going and began roasting meat, while Ophelia brought out the fruits she had "picked" from the mountain over the past few days to entertain their incoming guests.

Around ten o’clock, the clan leaders of various tribes began to arrive with their entourages. To show their respect, they were accompanied today by either their Young Clan Leaders, their wives, or the young females of their households.

By the time the meat was perfectly roasted, all the invited guests had arrived. However, some tribes from farther away had also caught wind of the celebration and came bearing gifts to offer their congratulations. Even though the Fu Clan had no prior dealings with these tribes, they couldn’t exactly turn them away when they had come with generous offerings.

As everyone ate and drank, a few clan leaders took a tour of the chicken coops, guided by the Fu Clan members, before focusing their attention on the pigpens. The piglets in the pens had already grown to the size of adult wild boars, though they weren’t quite as plump yet. Still, the pigs were highly energetic, making it clear that they would easily survive to adulthood. Once they reached maturity and birthed their own litters, the tribe’s pig-farming endeavor would be a complete success.

Raising pigs that had already been domesticated for a generation would be much easier. The only question was whether Ophelia would be willing to share her expertise—or perhaps even part with a few piglets.

With this in mind, several clan leaders gathered their partners and daughters and approached Ophelia. The males shot meaningful glances at their families, prompting the females to speak up with bright smiles.

"Fu Clan Leader, you’ve raised these three little cubs so well!"

"Indeed! They don’t look like they’re only a month old at all."

"May we ask who their father is?" ℯ𝕝.

Ophelia had long prepared an answer for these inevitable questions from the males, allowing her to lie without so much as blinking. "They are Tyler’s children. Because they were nourished so well while I was pregnant, they’ve grown a bit sturdier."

Since Ophelia stated it so directly, no one was going to explicitly jump out and contradict her. However, one young clan leader, who looked rather simple-minded, blurted out, "But the scent of these three little cubs... why does it smell a little different from Tyler’s?"

The other clan leaders shot the young male a sharp look before turning their gazes back to the three adorable cubs. Faced with the male’s questioning, Ophelia didn’t show any anger. Her cheeks still carried a polite smile.

"They like to play in the woods, so the smell on them is a bit strong. It’s perfectly normal that they don’t smell like him to you."

When the crowd noticed the dirt smeared on the faces and arms of the eldest, Kohen, and the second cub, Dan’er, their suspicions completely dissipated.

"Little cubs are always so lively."

"Being lively just proves how healthy they are!"

Seeing the other clan leaders chime in, the young male belatedly realized that he had misspoken. He cast a guilty glance at Ophelia. Seeing that her face still held a gentle smile with no trace of displeasure, he finally breathed a sigh of relief.

Rebecca walked over, accompanied by the Golden Dragon Clan Leader, Leon. Knowing it wouldn’t be appropriate to keep surrounding Ophelia, the other clan leaders drifted to the side to chat and exchange information with Leon.

Rebecca beamed from ear to ear as she looked at her three grandchildren, kissing one and then the next. Wendy giggled happily at the kisses, and Dan’er didn’t have much of a reaction. Only the eldest awkwardly turned his head to wipe the saliva off his cheek.

Seeing Kohen’s reaction, Rebecca pretended to be heartbroken. "Does Baby Kohen not like it? Do you not like Grandmother? Are you rejecting your grandmother? BOO-HOO!"

Seeing his grandmother so sad, Kohen pursed his lips. He thought, "No, that’s not it. I didn’t."

However, because Rebecca shared no direct blood relation with him, she couldn’t understand his inner voice at all. To her ears, he was just babbling incomprehensibly.

"What is Baby Kohen saying? I can’t understand you," Rebecca continued to tease.

The young females standing nearby smiled until their eyes crinkled into little crescents. Kohen finally realized he was being teased. Blushing furiously, he buried his face in Tyler’s chest.

Seeing her son getting embarrassed, Ophelia quickly stepped in. "Mother, stop teasing him. Kohen is getting upset."

"Don’t be angry, Baby Kohen," Rebecca coaxed. "It’s my fault. I’m not actually upset, so please don’t be mad at Grandmother, okay?"

After a long while, Kohen turned his head back around and gave a soft nod.

Right at that moment, the White Dragon Clan Leader walked over with his son, Bai Ma, and his grandson, Balunbu. Catching sight of Rebecca from a distance, the White Dragon Clan Leader called out a warm greeting.

"Cousin Rebecca."

Hearing this sudden, unfamiliar address, both Ophelia and Rebecca turned their heads in confusion. They saw a middle-aged male with a shrewd face, though his eyes held no obvious calculation. Rebecca thought for a long while before finally recalling his identity.

"Cousin White Dragon?" she asked uncertainly.

"It’s me, Cousin. It has been a very long time since we last saw each other."

Feeling a bit guilty for almost failing to recognize him, Rebecca offered an awkward smile. "My memory still can’t compare to yours, Cousin."

White Dragon smiled gently, not the least bit annoyed that she had nearly forgotten him. "I’ve changed too much. It’s perfectly normal that you didn’t recognize me. You, on the other hand, have been taken care of very well by the Golden Dragon Clan Leader all these years. You’re still just as young and beautiful."

No female could resist being praised for her beauty. Hearing White Dragon’s compliments, Rebecca began to recall fond memories of their childhood playtime.

White Dragon then turned to look at Ophelia. "Your daughter has grown to be just as beautiful as you. In the blink of an eye, she’s grown up so much. And she’s so capable, too, having established her very own tribe. It’s no easy feat for a young female to build a tribe."

He then beckoned for his son and grandson to step forward, introducing them affectionately. "Cousin Rebecca, this is my eldest son, Bai Ma, and my grandson, Balunbu. Bai Ma, Balunbu, come say hello."

Bai Ma led his three-year-old son, Balunbu, forward to greet them.

"Hello, Aunt Rebecca," Bai Ma said.

"Hello, Great-Aunt," little Balunbu echoed.

"Hello, Cousin Ophelia," Bai Ma added.

"Hello, Aunt Ophelia," Balunbu finished.

As the saying goes, you shouldn’t turn away a smiling guest. Ophelia welcomed them warmly. "Thank you for coming to the cubs’ one-month-old celebration, Uncle, Cousin. Please, make yourselves at home and enjoy the food and drinks."
