I Dumped My Mate—Now Every Beast King Wants Me
Chapter 154: Zerev Wants to Return to the Holy Capital
Chapter 154: Chapter 154: Zerev Wants to Return to the Holy Capital
Ophelia carefully selected from the sheepskin scroll and finally found two relatively suitable plots of land.
There wasn’t much empty land left around the Fuzu Tribe, only five thousand square meters remaining. Thus, Ophelia divided the remaining fifteen thousand square meters into three portions, all situated around the Fuzu Tribe and the Golden Dragon Clan. This way, the patrolling males of both tribes could keep an eye on them.
After purchasing the territory, Tyler tried to usher Ophelia back to the tribe.
Zerev, who had only just gotten to see Ophelia, naturally wasn’t willing to let her go. He blocked their path, staring gloomily at Tyler. "Why are you leaving so quickly?"
"If you want strange males coming and going in your home every day, then you can spend a little more time with the Princess."
Zerev pressed his lips into a tight line. Although he knew Tyler was telling the truth, he still felt displeased. He looked down at Ophelia. "I want to stay with you tonight."
Ophelia glanced at Tyler guiltily, while Zerev shot him a provocative look.
Tyler fell silent for a moment before rubbing the top of Ophelia’s head. "Princess, I’m fine. Just agree to his request." Rather than having the Princess take on other males, he was more willing to not stop her from being intimate with Zerev.
Zerev pulled Ophelia into his arms and planted a kiss on her forehead. "I’ll come back early tonight."
Meeting Zerev’s burning gaze, Ophelia’s cheeks flushed crimson. "I-I know," she stammered. With that, she grabbed Tyler and fled out of the City Lord Mansion.
Zerev watched their flustered retreating figures, a pleasant, low chuckle escaping his throat.
Moye, who was standing nearby and saw his young master smile, sighed slightly in his heart. This little female was truly formidable; she could so easily sway the young master’s mood.
After a long while, Zerev finally withdrew his gaze and turned to head back to the stone house to continue working.
Seeing that he was in a good mood, Moye spoke up. "Young Master, the Family Head has already sent people to urge you several times, asking when exactly you will return to the Holy Capital.
"This time, the Family Head issued an order. If you don’t go back soon, he’ll have Princess Sophie come and fetch you."
Hearing the name Sophie, Zerev’s face darkened. He turned around, his silver eyes fixed intently on Moye, causing the latter to break out in a cold sweat.
"Young Master, this wasn’t my idea!
"Princess Sophie is the future mate the Family Head has chosen for you. If he finds out you’ve already mated with Ophelia, the consequences will be severe.
"I suggest you make a trip back to the Holy Capital. Otherwise, if they come here, it won’t just expose your relationship with Ophelia, but it will also lead them to discover the existence of the little masters."
Zerev had been avoiding the matter of returning to the Holy Capital recently, but he knew he had dragged it out long enough, and his father was already growing suspicious. If Sophie really came, Ophelia would be in danger.
"I’ll discuss this matter with Ophelia."
Hearing his young master say this, Moye finally breathed a sigh of relief.
Originally, Zerev had been in a delightful mood because he would be staying with Ophelia that night. But now, because of Moye’s words, his heart sank back to rock bottom.
After he entered the room, a Beast Servant wanted to continue reporting matters to him but was stopped by Zerev raising his hand. "Leave for now."
"Yes, Young Master." The Beast Servant could sense his depressed mood. However, the first rule of being a Beast Servant was to never question the master’s decision, no matter the time or place.
After the Beast Servant left, Zerev sat alone in the room for a long time. It wasn’t until the sky outside gradually darkened that he slowly stood up, smoothed out his linen garments, and prepared to return to the Fuzu Tribe.
Meanwhile, in the Fuzu Tribe, Tyler was making dinner. Ophelia stood nearby, cautiously observing the expression on his face, looking for all the world like a wife caught cheating by her husband. Although the kitchen was large, Ophelia followed closely on Tyler’s heels, causing them to bump into each other from time to time.
Seeing Ophelia acting so cautiously, Tyler let out a soft sigh. "You don’t need to worry, Princess. Zerev is also your mate; it’s only right that you stay with him."
Ophelia looked up. "Then can you please not be mad?"
Seeing her worried appearance, Tyler could only speak against his true feelings. "Alright, I’m not mad. You don’t need to feel burdened, Princess."
Seeing that Tyler truly didn’t look angry, Ophelia finally breathed a sigh of relief. She was already walking on eggshells with just two mates. If there were a few more, her fragile little heart probably wouldn’t be able to take it.
Although mating with Zerev hadn’t been her original intention, after spending time together, she could feel that Zerev genuinely liked her. And she had fallen for Zerev too. Even though the Beast World was traditionally a polyandrous society, and she hadn’t had a change of heart toward Tyler, she still couldn’t help but feel a bit guilty toward him. Therefore, in their daily life, she always wanted to treat Tyler better and better.
To put Ophelia at ease, Tyler reached out, pulled her into his arms, and gently kissed her on the lips. "As long as the Princess has me in her heart, I’m already very happy."
To him, the Princess had originally been an unreachable moon. Just to be graced by her moonlight was already a massive blessing. The Princess was so wonderful; the males who liked her would only increase in the future. He had no right to demand that Ophelia take him as her sole mate.
Zerev returned right at this moment and saw this scene. A sour feeling welled up in his chest, and his eyes grew hot. Ophelia was already biased toward Tyler. He didn’t dare to imagine if, after he left and a long time passed, Ophelia would forget him, or if even her tiny bit of affection for him would completely dissipate.
"Zerev, you’re back." Upon seeing Zerev, Tyler took a slight step back.
Without a word, Zerev grabbed Ophelia and pulled her out of the kitchen. His grip was so strong that it made Ophelia’s wrist ache.
"Zerev, my hand hurts."
Hearing her cry out in pain, Zerev loosened his grip. However, he didn’t let go of her completely. Instead, he led her by the hand to a large tree outside the stone house. Moonlight shone through the treetops, and a gentle breeze brushed against their faces.
Zerev pinned Ophelia against the tree and kissed her without a word of explanation. His kiss grew fiercer, and he even bit down hard enough to break the skin of her lips.
Ophelia pushed against him. "Zerev, what’s wrong?"
Zerev lifted his head, their eyes meeting. Ophelia couldn’t read what was going on in his mind. Tightening his arms, Zerev locked her in his embrace and buried his face in the crook of her neck.
Just as Ophelia was about to struggle, his heavy voice sounded in her ear. "Ophelia, I have to return to the Holy Capital."
Ophelia froze. The hands pushing against him slowly relaxed and instead wrapped around his lean waist. Before she could say a word, she felt a streak of warm liquid slide down her shoulder.
Ophelia parted her lips. Was he crying?
Zerev’s profound sadness washed over her. She gently patted his back and asked softly, "Why do you have to go back so suddenly?"
"My father has grown suspicious of my continued stay in Ten Thousand Beasts City.
"He sent a message saying that if I don’t go back soon, he’s going to send people to fetch me.
"If his people come, they’ll inevitably discover you and the children. You’d be in danger."
"Don’t worry," Ophelia replied. "I have my spatial dimension. Even if they find out, we’ll be perfectly fine."
Zerev shook his head. "I can’t risk that ’what if.’ I have to go back."
