I Carry a Game World With Me

Chapter 417 - 392: Tyrannical Clauses! All Are Schemers

The uproar from the crowd could finally no longer be contained.

"This product is unbelievable! It really improved my vision so much, so quickly."

"Yes, my vision has improved too! And that sensation… it was just amazing."

"When that warm sensation appeared, my eyes felt so comfortable. This kind of treatment will be welcomed by everyone with myopia."

"Mr. Yasna, did you bring us here to discuss a partnership for this product?"

Someone couldn't help but ask eagerly.

At the same time, quite a few people shot sympathetic glances at Bowens.

Everyone had seen what Bowens was trying to do earlier—he was here to crash the party.

But now, not only was there no party left to crash, but the situation had also become a huge slap in his own face.

To be fair, the product Bowens had just announced was indeed advanced enough to lead the industry. You could even call it revolutionary.

But the Xuanfeng Alliance's product was simply too miraculous, too out-of-this-world. "Revolutionary" didn't even begin to describe it.

Bowens's product simply couldn't compare to this one from the Xuanfeng Alliance.

If you put the two products side-by-side, only a complete idiot would choose Bowens's, right?

"Mr. Yasna, we at Yigui Road would like to become a distributor for your medicinal wine." Bowens was truly a seasoned veteran of the business world. Realizing his own product had just been rendered obsolete, he immediately adjusted his mindset and spoke to Yasna in a low voice at the first opportunity.

The speed of his turnaround astonished the representatives from the other eyewear companies.

Then, they too snapped out of it and began bombarding Yasna with questions.

"Mr. Yasna, what are the partnership options for this product?"

"That's right, we want to be a distributor! Our company is the largest eyewear company in Germany. We have the biggest distribution channels available for your product."

"Mr. Yasna, while we don't specialize in manufacturing glasses, we do have vast distribution channels within the vision care industry."

"We're a multimedia company with a huge number of fans and users among the nearsighted community. Mr. Yasna, please consider us!"

"…"

Suddenly, a sense of tension filled the air among the eyewear industry representatives.

They were afraid, after all, that the Xuanfeng Alliance wouldn't license the product to just anyone.

If the Alliance only selected two or three companies, most of them would be left out in the cold.

For them, that would be an absolute disaster.

Everyone understood that failing to secure distribution rights for the Xuanfeng Alliance's product would lead to one of two outcomes: either their company would go bankrupt, or they would have to somehow reverse-engineer the product.

But a product like this couldn't possibly be easy to reverse-engineer.

Besides, no one had ever managed to reverse-engineer any of the Xuanfeng Alliance's other blockbuster products.

So, they didn't entertain any unrealistic fantasies. They weren't skilled in reverse-engineering, and besides, the product was a wine—a completely different industry from their eyewear business.

'This is like them dropping a nuke on us from a completely different industry.'

Yasna had, of course, anticipated this reaction.

It's often said that in this day and age, distribution channels are king, but that only applies to ordinary products.

When a product is truly game-changing, so-called "channels" become irrelevant.

A product that powerful can destroy existing distribution networks and create entirely new ones from scratch.

If that happened, they would be utterly obsolete.

Seeing the desperation on their faces, the corners of Yasna's mouth curled into a smile.

'The more desperate they are, the better,' he thought.

He spoke slowly and deliberately. "Ladies and gentlemen, the Xuanfeng Alliance will be selecting a few companies to partner with. We will not, however, be partnering with everyone."

"You are all welcome to submit your proposals to the Xuanfeng Alliance, and we will conduct a review and selection process."

When you have a game-changing product, the worst mistake is to partner with everyone. You must cooperate with some and reject others.

This allows you to select for obedience and leaves you with the leverage to replace partners at will.

Just as expected, the eyewear companies from around the globe immediately grew more anxious.

It was just as they had feared: the Xuanfeng Alliance was not going to partner with everyone.

Some of them were now facing elimination.

Elimination meant that, before long, they would completely lose their business related to vision correction. For an eyewear company, this was a devastating blow.

Therefore, they had to secure the distribution rights for the Xuanfeng Alliance's product at all costs.

Yasna smiled. "However, let me make one thing perfectly clear. As a basis for our partnership, you must grant us full access to and control over your vision-care distribution channels. Furthermore, the terms of the distributorship will be dictated, determined, and interpreted solely by us."

His words sent a fresh wave of clamor through the crowd. These were dictatorial terms.

Without waiting to see their shocked reactions, Yasna turned and walked away, leaving the stunned representatives to finally process what he had said.

But Yasna was already gone, leaving them to simply stare at one another in dismay.

Just then, Bowens spoke up. "Everyone, it seems the Xuanfeng Alliance thinks they have us cornered. They believe their product is so miraculous that we have no choice but to accept."

"But we do have another option. We can unite. If none of us accept their terms, they'll have no distribution channels to use."

"The very fact that they want to partner with us proves they need the channels we control. If we stand together, we might be able to negotiate better terms for ourselves instead of letting them walk all over us."

His words sent a murmur through the crowd as people began whispering amongst themselves.

Because Yigui Road was the industry leader, and because it was Bowens saying this, his words carried some weight.

If Yigui Road were to take the lead, it might actually be feasible.

"I think Mr. Bowens has a point," said the head of a large international eyewear company.

A representative from another major eyewear company chimed in, "He's right. We can band together. With Mr. Bowens leading the charge, our collective power can't be underestimated. I'm sure they'll be forced to make some concessions."

One by one, every eyewear company of significant size voiced their support for Bowens.

After reaching a verbal agreement, the crowd finally dispersed, leaving the superyacht and returning to their respective accommodations.

The moment the head of one major eyewear company returned to his hotel, he gave his subordinate an immediate order: "Draft an application right away. Say we want the distribution rights and are willing to cooperate fully with the Xuanfeng Alliance."

The owner of another large eyewear company did the same. "Let Bowens take the heat. Only an idiot would actually team up with him. Hurry up and get that application sent to the Xuanfeng Alliance."

Meanwhile, back in his own hotel, Bowens said to his secretary, "We've already made a bad impression. Let those other fools go and provoke the Xuanfeng Alliance. We need to write our application immediately. No matter what it takes, we have to secure the distribution rights for this product. Otherwise, we won't just be losing our position as the industry leader—it'll be much worse than that."
