Chapter 264: Chapter 244: An Unsolvable Frame-up Against the Li Family

As Li Kai stepped into the main hall of Lu Feng’s estate, his face filled with shock, then disbelief.

A group of people were waiting for him in the hall, as if they had been expecting him all along.

They were none other than Lin Jiao, Wang Cheng, and the other ability users who were supposed to have left the East Suburb Fortress to deal with One-Eyed Tiger.

But the crucial part was who else he saw.

One-Eyed Tiger was there, along with the ability users who were supposed to be his followers.

’This...’

In that instant, Li Kai understood everything.

’Lu Feng had already laid a massive trap here in the East Suburb, and One-Eyed Tiger was his man.’

’Damn it. This was exactly what I was planning to do, but he beat me to it.’

Realizing how bad the situation was, he hurriedly said to Zheng Lin, "We need to break out with everything we’ve got. Forget everyone else."

At these words, his men standing nearby subconsciously turned to look at him.

His men stared at him, utterly confused.

But the only answer Li Kai received was the sound of a door slamming shut.

The door to the hall was slammed shut, blocking their only escape route.

Li Kai instinctively turned his head and saw Zheng Lin standing before the now-closed door.

Li Kai was stunned for a moment, then roared, "Zheng Lin, what are you doing?!"

"Isn’t it obvious?" Zheng Lin said with a helpless wave.

"Damn you!" Li Kai cursed.

’I can’t believe even Zheng Lin is one of his men.’

With Zheng Lin, a fire Elemental Ability User, joining the enemy, the situation was now even more dire.

"I suppose it’s too late to surrender?" Li Kai asked Lu Feng with a resigned sigh.

"What do you think?" A laser rifle materialized in Lu Feng’s hand, and he immediately fired at Li Kai.

Li Kai obviously recognized the weapon. With a startled cry, he activated his beastification and dove to the side.

The laser beam shot past him and struck one of his men standing behind him.

As Lu Feng attacked, Lin Jiao and the others sprang into action, activating their abilities and charging at Li Kai.

One-Eyed Tiger also entered his beast form and lunged at Li Kai.

Zheng Lin didn’t hesitate either. Flames flickered in his hand, instantly coalescing into a fire arrow that he shot toward Li Kai.

With a wave of his hand, Lu Feng summoned Jinwen, who appeared at his feet.

’If Li Kai is looking for a death wish, I’ll be happy to grant it and make sure he’s one-hundred percent dead.’

The moment the Mutant Beast cub appeared, it locked its eyes on Li Kai. They shone with a peculiar light—the gaze of a predator.

"Get lost!" Li Kai roared, trading a punch with One-Eyed Tiger.

Both were Beastification Ability Users, but Li Kai was clearly far stronger. Just like before, One-Eyed Tiger was sent staggering backward.

At the same time, a fire arrow shot toward his face. He quickly twisted to dodge. The moment the arrow shot past him, it suddenly exploded. The shockwave slammed into his face, leaving it scorched black.

"Zheng Lin, if I make it out of here today, I swear I’ll hunt you down!" Li Kai yelled in a fury.

This only made Zheng Lin more ruthless. In the blink of an eye, he formed two more fire arrows and shot them at Li Kai in quick succession.

Li Kai tried to dodge again, but was stunned to see a small figure appear at his feet. It was a cat, he saw from the corner of his eye.

’A cat running out here to get in the way? Is it trying to die?’

He paid it no mind. But as he dodged the fire arrows, his expression twisted in horror. An excruciating pain shot up from his leg, which was now gushing blood.

And there was the cat, lifting a paw that was now covered in blood. It even shook the paw with a look of disdain.

’How could this be...?’

The thought had barely formed when Zheng Lin’s two fire arrows slammed into him. The terrifying blast sent him flying, and he coughed up a mouthful of blood.

Heavily injured, he had no way to fend off their combined assault. In a desperate move, he made the worst possible choice: he charged at Lu Feng.

In that same instant, he felt a sharp pain in his ankle. It was the cat again. Blood sprayed from the joint, and he stumbled forward, lurching toward Lu Feng.

Lu Feng raised his laser rifle. A beam of light shot out, striking Li Kai—now unable to dodge—directly in the head.

The result was gruesome.

THUD!

Li Kai’s body crashed to the floor.

MEOW!

Jinwen suddenly cried out. Lifting its bloody paws, it looked at Lu Feng with extreme dissatisfaction, as if to say, ’Clean me up, now.’

Lin Jiao and the others stared at the small cat in astonishment, having just witnessed it single-handedly wound a powerful ability user.

Only Wang Cheng knew the truth: it was a mutated leopard cub that had consumed the crystal core of the Mutated Leopard King.

"Clean it up," Lu Feng said to a subordinate, understanding Jinwen’s intent.

The man didn’t dare hesitate. He immediately stepped forward and gingerly picked up Jinwen.

Holding this terrifying little creature was surely a unique experience for him.

Next, Lu Feng turned his gaze to the men Li Kai had brought with him. They had already dropped their weapons and were squatting on the ground, their faces grim as they awaited their fate.

After all, they had no will to resist anymore.

Lu Feng gave a direct order to Guo Zhen: "Take these men away and interrogate them. Keep the ones we can use."

"Understood." Guo Zhen nodded.

As for those who couldn’t be used... well, they’d be dealt with.

Lin Jiao stepped forward. "Boss, now that he’s dead, the Li Family is sure to react quickly. But by the time they do, it’ll be too late. The people we sent should have already spread the news throughout the City East Alliance."

Lu Feng nodded. "Has the soil been neutralized?"

Lin Jiao nodded. "It’s all taken care of. I’ve already had people start replanting the crops. That whole area is several times larger than the new plot the Li Family was hiding."
