I Carry a Game World With Me
Chapter 215 - 198: The Conditions for Establishing a Country
Chapter 215: Chapter 198: The Conditions for Establishing a Country
Hearing his subordinate, Fire Silica frowned slightly. "Perhaps. After all, there’s no stopping human ambition."
’He was actually pondering the same question.’
Now that Dalat Town was essentially unified, he, like Feisen, had no choice but to submit.
The members of the Dada and Binda Clans had been mostly absorbed.
The other minor factions had either been driven out or had also submitted and been absorbed. No one in Dalat Town dared to defy that man anymore.
Moreover, Dalat Town was not small. In fact, one could say that its total number of combatants was no less than the standing border armies of several neighboring countries.
Furthermore, the total area of this lawless region was large enough to qualify as a small country.
’Under these circumstances, if it were me, I would definitely establish a country.’
After all, that famous rebel army wasn’t any stronger than the unified forces of Dalat Town.
They managed to establish a new government through armed rebellion, only to then pontificate to the world, "As inhabitants of this planet, we must not solve problems with armed conflict. Instead, we need to sit down and have a proper discussion!"
When that news first broke, people in every country must have been gobsmacked, right?
After all, you guys were the ones who fought the most ruthlessly in the first place.
It was like some hardened gangster single-handedly beating up a few guys, then turning around and earnestly lecturing everyone, "Violence doesn’t solve anything!"
If that armed rebellion could pull it off, the now-unified Dalat Town was in an even better position to do so. The only real threat was the neighboring countries, who might try to take advantage of the situation.
Although Dalat Town was unified, its fighting force had been drastically reduced. It was possible some fool, unaware of the real situation, might get the bright idea to make a move on Dalat Town.
Especially Cambodia.
They’d had their eyes on Dalat Town before.
They were something of a semi-militarized state themselves, just one with very little territory.
So, they also coveted this lawless region, hoping to annex it and expand their territory.
"Let’s go. To the Kudar Clan’s headquarters," Fire Silica said to his confidant.
’What does any of this have to do with me?’
’After all, if a nation was founded, I wouldn’t be the one in charge.’
With that, Fire Silica led his men out, heading for the Kudar Clan’s headquarters.
When he arrived, he saw Feisen, as well as Bulin and the man called Red Lizard.
Red Lizard’s reputation in Dalat Town had grown immense.
Everyone knew he was the one who had led the assault on the Dada Clan and beheaded Dalron. He was also the one who had dealt with most of the minor factions.
Moreover, everyone knew how formidable his special combat units were. Any of Dalat Town’s minor factions that dared to face them were instantly routed. They were clearly not ordinary men.
He didn’t recognize the others. Aside from Hadona, whose background could be looked up, there was no information whatsoever on the rest. This meant they had never appeared in Dalat Town before.
Chen Bo, in turn, was watching Fire Silica.
He had, of course, reviewed the files in recent days, so he knew what kind of hardened figure this man was.
The man had been the leader of a local faction.
The underworld figures of Tianzhou City were less than gnats in his presence—so insignificant they could be swatted away with ease.
As people filled the hall, they found their seats and sized each other up, all waiting for Lu Feng to appear.
Only when Lu Feng finally appeared did everyone rise to their feet in unison, their eyes fixed on him.
It was a clear demonstration of Lu Feng’s current authority.
"Please, be seated," Lu Feng said to the assembly. Only after he had taken his own seat did the others sit down.
Lu Feng glanced at Feisen, Fire Silica, and the others before speaking. "As you all know, there is now only one power in Dalat Town. Consequently, we will no longer be using the name Kudar Clan."
"Since we are all united, we will adopt a new name for this new force. As for what that name will be, I’ll inform you all once I’ve decided."
Feisen and Fire Silica sighed at his words.
’This was just as they had expected.’
’After all, anyone who reached this point would never keep the old faction names.’
At this, Bulin spoke up immediately. "Mr. Lu, we will follow your lead. Just tell me the name, and I will see to it that your flag flies over every corner of Dalat Town!"
He had chosen to pledge his loyalty at the earliest possible moment.
He paid no mind to Feisen’s feelings at a time like this.
’After all, at this stage, the right move was to latch onto the strongest backer as quickly as possible.’
’If Feisen had given up on his fantasies, he should learn from my example.’
Lu Feng gave Bulin a long look. He could easily read the man’s intentions to curry favor; they were blatantly obvious.
Besides, the man was already wearing an electronic shackle, so Lu Feng didn’t mind his show of loyalty.
Feisen, however, raised a practical concern. "Mr. Lu, how will Dalat Town be managed from now on? The soldiers from the various factions have been absorbed, but what about the issue of arms sales? How will that be handled under a unified command?"
Clearly, this was a question that also concerned Fire Silica, as he too turned his gaze to Lu Feng.
Lu Feng frowned slightly at the question.
’It was true. Dalat Town was unified, but he hadn’t really thought about how the town would sustain itself afterward.’
’Or rather, he’d thought about it, but not in any specific detail.’
’After all, Dalat Town had always been known for its arms trade. Now that I’m in control, how should I run the place?’
’Continue selling weapons?’
’To be honest, I haven’t really considered it.’
’He was actually somewhat resistant to the idea of selling weapons. After all, Qingfeng Network Company was a money-printing machine, more profitable than selling drugs. He had no need to make money from this kind of business.’
Just then, Bulin stood up again to propose an idea. "Mr. Lu, since you’ve already unified Dalat Town, and our territory is vast—it’s just been chaotic—we are now of one mind. We can absolutely put an end to this chaos. So, why don’t we establish a country of our own?"
The moment he said this, both Feisen and Fire Silica frowned.
’Of course. Someone was bound to bring it up.’
Feisen sighed deeply. He knew that the Kudar Clan was essentially no longer under his control. Bulin’s attitude had made that perfectly clear.
Bulin, however, stared at Lu Feng with a fanatical gleam in his eyes.
He had considered this possibility long ago. After all, people like Feisen had all entertained the same ambition at one point; they just lacked the power to achieve it.
He had known Mr. Lu was destined to unify Dalat Town. The question was, could a man like that resist the temptation to found his own nation? Bulin certainly hoped he wouldn’t, as his own status would surely rise with the tide.
Meanwhile, Chen Bo and the men he had brought with him were completely floored by the topic of conversation.
They had only ever been low-level underworld figures, people who could never make it onto the big stage. Who would have thought that after following President Lu to Dalat Town, they would be hit by one shock after another, each more stunning than the last?
’Now they’re talking about founding a nation?’
’Is President Lu really playing at this level?’
’This was something I couldn’t even dare to dream of. You could ask any director back home to make a film about this, and you could bet they wouldn’t dare.’
Lu Feng himself was taken aback by Bulin’s words.
’He had, after all, considered the possibility himself. He’d heard the talk about Dalat Town being a potential place to establish a nation.’
’He just never expected Bulin to be the one to propose it.’
And the temptation for a man to found his own country... that was something few could resist.
"Discuss this matter among yourselves and tell me your conclusions later," Lu Feng said, rising from his seat. "For now, I’m going to get some fresh air."
Getting fresh air was just an excuse; he really needed a moment to collect himself.
At the same time, he also wanted to look into the requirements for establishing a nation himself.
He didn’t believe founding a nation could be as simple as Bulin made it sound. There were bound to be countless other factors to consider.
Sure enough, after a bit of research, he found that establishing a state required four conditions: one, a defined population; two, a defined territory; three, a government; and four, sovereignty.
Of these, territory was usually the most difficult condition to meet, and the one that stopped most aspiring factions.
But Lu Feng realized that, for him, this had ironically become the easiest condition of all.
After all, the entire region surrounding Dalat Town was already under his control.
