Chapter 124: Chapter 97: Isn’t This Wishful Thinking?

Aside from their ornamental value, the rape flowers also had a practical application: the rapeseed oil they produced now had a [Moisturizing Effect +1].

Moisturizing meant using various methods to help the skin retain moisture, stay vibrant, and prevent dryness.

This could be achieved through various cosmetics and medicinal products.

Many modern skincare products focused on this very effect to attract customers, especially women. If a product had a genuinely good moisturizing effect, they would fall in love with it, and it would become an indispensable part of their makeup collection.

And now, this rapeseed oil had a [Moisturizing Effect +1] attribute.

This would undoubtedly become a sought-after item for female visitors.

The rape flowers’ blooming season was nearly over, and the rapeseeds had already grown in. It was almost time for this rapeseed oil to have its moment in the spotlight.

But no matter how good the effect was, you couldn’t just smear pure oil directly on your face.

The greasy feeling alone would be off-putting, regardless of the benefits. And crucially, it wouldn’t look good.

Therefore, turning the rapeseed oil into a moisturizing cream was the best solution.

’Even if the process dilutes the effect, it still has the system’s attribute. It should still be better than any product on the market, right?’

’Aren’t there plenty of people online who make moisturizing creams out of honey?’

’There must be a ton of recipes and methods for that kind of thing.’

’So what will happen when visitors discover that Li Yuan Farm has a product like this?’

’They’ll have to buy it, right?’

’Maybe some female visitors will even make a special trip to the farm just to buy it.’

’However, we only have 500 mu of rape flowers, and the seeds can only be planted within the farm’s boundaries, so the yield will be limited.’

’We’ll probably have to implement purchase limits, or maybe set conditions that customers have to meet before they can buy it!’ 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ

The only problem was, as a man, he didn’t really understand much about this sort of thing.

Even if he searched for recipe videos online, who knew if they were legitimate or how effective they would be?

He then thought of Lin Muxue and her team. The online operations department was full of women. ’They should know something about this, right?’

With that in mind, he gave Lin Muxue a call. As soon as the call connected, Senior Sister Lin’s voice came through first. "President Zhang, I was just about to look for you. I didn’t expect you to call first."

Zhang Lin was taken aback for a moment, then said, "Senior Sister Lin, you go first. What’s on your mind?"

Lin Muxue said with a hint of complaint, "President Zhang, I just saw the news about the farm creating the Flower Sea. This isn’t right. For a major farm project, our online operations department shouldn’t have to find out by watching a visitor’s video online."

"Isn’t the normal procedure for you to notify the online operations department first, so we can post a couple of teaser videos and build some suspense? Then we could generate discussion. It’s a great way to keep the topic trending, and now that opportunity has been wasted. So, in the future, if there are any new projects, could you please let us know in advance, President Zhang?"

Zhang Lin heard her and thought she made a very good point. He quickly replied, "You’re right, Senior Sister Lin. I wasn’t paying enough attention to that side of things before. In the future, for any new projects, I’ll be sure to let you know before we start."

Satisfied with his response, Lin Muxue asked, "So, President Zhang, you must have called for a reason. What can I do for you?"

Zhang Lin got straight to the point. "I wanted to ask you, Senior Sister, if any of you know how to make things like moisturizing cream."

Lin Muxue asked, puzzled, "President Zhang, why the sudden question? Are you planning to make a moisturizing cream? Zhang Yuan actually does a lot of DIY crafts in her spare time. She probably knows how."

Zhang Lin smiled and explained, "I’m planning to create a unique moisturizing cream for the farm. It could become our signature specialty product in the future. I just don’t know much about it, so, Senior Sister, could you bring Zhang Yuan over? We can look into it together."

Hearing this, Lin Muxue’s interest was piqued. "Alright, I’ll bring Zhang Yuan over to the farm!"

After hanging up, she immediately called over to Zhang Yuan, who was busy with logistics statistics, and they left the office together.

In truth, she had also noticed the issue of the farm’s specialty products. The farm was already very popular and had gained considerable fame, but when it came to a signature product, Li Yuan Farm didn’t really have one.

Now, it was clear that President Zhang had thought of this and wanted to put some effort into developing a specialty product for the farm.

Although making a moisturizing cream as a specialty product was a bit strange, this President Zhang never did things by the book. Perhaps there was something special about this moisturizing cream.

...

After hanging up with Lin Muxue, Zhang Lin found a small bag and headed toward the Flower Sea.

There were still plenty of tourists, but he could clearly see that the rape flowers were starting to thin out. Even with the system’s attributes, their beauty was no longer what it had been at the start.

However, compared to ordinary fields of rape flowers, his still had an overwhelming advantage.

He walked up to the edge of the Flower Sea and, just as he’d expected, saw plump rapeseeds growing on every stalk.

These tall rape flowers produced larger seeds, and each stalk yielded a considerable number of them. Some were already mature and full.

He immediately waved over a patrolling security guard.

"Boss!" the guard greeted respectfully as he approached.

"Pick some of the mature rapeseeds for me," Zhang Lin instructed, handing the small bag to him.

If he went to pick them himself, some busybody tourist would surely film him and upload it online with a title like: ’Classless tourist spotted picking flowers in the scenic area...’
