I Can Program My Body?
Chapter 760: Monopolizing the Outpost Market
As data from the Eternal Military Outpost’s expedition into the unexplored domain reached the major-level teams, shock rippled through their hearts.
Feeling the budding threat, the vice leaders of the seven major alliances quickly gathered around. Their supreme leaders were still deep in seclusion. Not wanting to disturb them, they could only make the decision themselves.
Gathered in the virtual world, the seven vice leaders began discussing the Eternal Military Outpost.
"First off, should we inform the leaders of the Grand Race Sovereign Alliance and God Emperor Knight Alliance?" Hanna from the Chronos Alliance asked.
"Why bother? Although we call them a major team, they were nothing more than fodder in the grand scheme of things." The vice leader from the Ancient Race scoffed.
"Fodder? Who’s to say we aren’t the same?" the vice leader from the Azure Heaven Alliance said.
"Fine, we’ll call them."
Calling the representatives from both major alliances, they officially began their discussion.
"What do you say about the Eternal Military Outpost?"
"This must be the creation of Nash Navre, the supreme leader of the Eternal Star Alliance. Only he was capable of creating such an exquisite dark technology." Hanna said.
"Tsk, how enviable. Is your Chronos Empire a breeding ground of talent or what? First there was the Chronos Saint, now there’s this freak?"
"Hmph! So what?" Hanna replied proudly. Although they were still in a competitive relationship with the Eternal Star Alliance, they could still team up in crucial moments.
"Anyway, what do you say about the Eternal Military Outpost? Should we buy it or not?"
Based on the report they received, the Eternal Military Outpost was truly remarkable. Not only could it control a dozen dark gates with minimal maintenance, but it could also venture into an unexplored domain and run rampant without any problem.
The only thing they worried about was that if they bought it, wouldn’t that strengthen their enemy?
"Of course we buy! With such a powerful outpost, what does it matter if the Eternal Star Alliance gets a little benefit?" A vice leader from the Grand Race Sovereign Alliance said. In fact, before being invited here, they had already contacted the Eternal Star Alliance to order as many outposts as possible. The same was true for the God Emperor Knight Alliance.
While the seven major teams could take it easy and consider deeper implications, the two couldn’t stay idle. They still hadn’t built a dimensional stronghold; to venture out into the unexplored domain area, they had to suffer countless casualties and pay a steep price.
If they could minimize their casualties and expenses, why did it matter if they enriched the Eternal Star Alliance? Weren’t they doing the same for the other seven major alliances?
"The price is already at 1,000 units of mother core ships. Should we first try to lower the price?" One of them said.
In the past, a single Eternal Military Outpost cost only 300 mother core ships; now it had skyrocketed to more than three times that. If they held firm and negotiated for a while, they should be able to bring the price down to 500.
"Hah! Lowering the price? If it were you, would you lower the price? The Eternal Star Alliance could even refuse to entertain us before because we offered a low price. Now that the outpost has already proven itself, do you think they’re still willing to negotiate?" Hanna said in a mocking tone.
"Alright, since that’s the case, we’ll see if the Eternal Star Alliance could regularly supply us with the Eternal Military Outpost." The Vice Leader from the Mechanical Race, who had been silent until now, spoke.
The seven major alliances had always moved as one. This was not because they were friends, but simply because they wanted to maintain balance before the peace treaty ended.
Now, with the sudden appearance of three other major alliances, they had to tread carefully, mulling over every decision.
Coming to this meeting, they confirmed each other’s intentions. Although most were dismissive about it, the eagerness in their tone couldn’t be hidden.
At the end of their meeting, each representative began to contact the Eternal Star Alliance to inquire about the Eternal Military Outpost.
---
At the Eternal Star Alliance, upon receiving the calls from the representatives, there were smiles on the faces of the sales team.
"Haha, so the major alliances would also have a day when they come to beg us?"
"As long as we become stronger, what is a mere major alliance?"
"Eternal Star Alliance for the win!"
"Don’t celebrate too early! Remember the order of Lord Julius. We can’t offend the major alliances just because we have the upper hand."
Calming down, they began to process the requests of the major alliances, ensuring not to offend them while balancing their own interests.
In the end, out of the 1,125 Eternal Military Outposts they built this month, 600 went to the Grand Race Sovereign Alliance and God Emperor Knight Alliance, while the remaining 525 were divided among the other major teams, with 75 outposts each.
"Good! Once we finalize this transaction, the Eternal Star Alliance can develop even more outposts!"
To buy more, the two major alliances were willing to pay a premium of 1,100 per outpost, and coupled with the other seven major alliances willing to pay at 1,000 per outpost, they gathered a total of 1.135 million mother core ships, doubling their production capacity!
Furthermore, because they could deliver the Eternal Military Outpost, the others already asked when the next batch would arrive. Once they finished testing, they were willing to buy more at a premium.
"Tell them to come to us in a month. We will be auctioning over 2,000 Eternal Military Outposts for them." The trade captain told them, remembering Julius’s instructions.
Normally, they couldn’t do this. But with demand exceeding supply, they could only hold an auction to maximize their profit.
---
Meanwhile, as the other major-level teams received the Eternal Star Alliance’s reply, they were somewhat disappointed.
To start an expedition, they needed to have at least a thousand outposts. Otherwise, a few dozen was no different from deploying a few X-class battleships from the Mechanical Race.
Even then, once they received confirmation, they quickly made the payment and received the Eternal Military Outpost.
Possessing only 75 outposts, the seven major teams didn’t immediately deploy them to battle; instead, they began a process of violent disassembly and decryption.
No matter how expensive, if they could replicate the Eternal Military Outpost, they would earn a fortune! Even if it cost 10 or 100 times as much, producing such a strategic asset was a must.
This would not only free them from dependence on the Eternal Star Alliance, but also let them produce as much as they wanted, continuing to suppress this newly established major alliance.
Unfortunately, they were destined to be disappointed. Under the cooperation of their runic professionals and scientists specializing in energy, they couldn’t even make out what the runic engraving in the Eternal Military Outpost was.
The runic engraving seemed to be made of one giant block instead of interlocking nodes. Like one giant runic language written on a single gigantic sheet of paper, they felt like they were looking at an archaic pattern.
Unless they understood every symbol and stroke, only then could they backtrack and crack the accompanying runic encryption. Even a peak Tier 12 runic language professional might remain clueless about this giant block of rune.
Giving up on runic decryption, they focused on the technological content of the Eternal Military Outpost. If they couldn’t copy the runic blueprint, couldn’t they build the outpost and engrave the runic patterns themselves? Although it would be weaker, it would still be better than nothing.
Yet as they delved into the materials, composition, function, and core system of the outpost, they hit another obstacle.
Each time they disassembled a component from the outpost, the encryption distorted the material into a pile of mess. This mess wasn’t even consistent, different disassembly techniques, environments, and timing could affect the final result, preventing them from even analyzing the material composition of the outpost.
If they wanted to delve deeper, not only would it take more time, but the expenses and risk would skyrocket beyond what they could afford.
Since that was the case, instead of copying, wasn’t it better to just research similar technology themselves and build it from scratch?
"The Eternal Star Alliance really gave us trouble..."
Giving up on the whole thing, the seven major teams convened another meeting to discuss how to proceed. They couldn’t let the Eternal Star Alliance continue to take advantage and monopolize such a strategic technology.
After discussing different responsibilities, division of profit, and logistics, the seven major alliances gathered all their scientists into one place and began research.
The foundation of a major-level team was not just its surface-level strength and resources, but also a pillar of civilization: a Tier 8 Philosopher Saint!
The reason the seven major teams took charge and were able to rise above the rest was because of these hidden Tier 8 Philosopher Saints.
While the other top teams were reveling over and treasuring their Tier 7 Philosopher King, the major teams were playing on a whole different level.
While there was only a single tier of difference between them, a Tier 8 Philosopher Saint was more valuable than any number of Tier 9 Planetary Powerhouses.
Usually, a Tier 8 Philosopher Saint was already at the Tier 9 realm or above. To reach such a level while only at a law realm made them more valuable, a seedling bound to become a Tier 9 Scientific Paragon in the future!
To deploy them to such a perilous land, it could be said that the galactic territories behind the major-level teams had gone completely insane.
