I Can Program My Body?
Chapter 757: Mind Hive Module System
As Nash began virtualizing each law, his mind wandered to the Eternal Time Virtual Server.
This server had previously been used to simulate and study the Eternal Military Outpost. It had vast processing power and a complete simulation of matter and energy up to the Tier 8 realm.
Naturally, while powerful, it also cost 100 Merit Source every magnitude of time. With 5 million Merit Source, they could accelerate the time in the virtual server up to 50,000 times!
Seeing the empty field, Nash called Julius to gather all the runic engraver elites they recruited from the Eternal Star Alliance.
This time he planned to do something big. Even with the number of users reaching over 9 septillion, the number of individuals who could engrave a runic pattern was still small. Thus, instead of free-rein runic engraving, he planned to gather all the elites who could engrave runic patterns in one place and accelerate time.
With trillions of elites they had gathered, coupled with 50,000 times acceleration, his mastery of runic patterns could be accelerated at a staggering speed.
---
Soon, after being notified and given permission to enter the Eternal Time Server, a large number of people began to pour in, quickly filling up the area.
After waiting a while, the Eternal Time Server slots filled up.
"7 trillion. The limit is still too low."
This number wasn’t the limit of elites proficient in runic pattern engraving, but the limit of merit source that they could use to accelerate time. The virtual server only had a budget of 5 million Merit Source each day. To reach the most efficient state at 100 Merit Source per magnitude of time acceleration, they could only keep the number as it was.
"Supreme Leader. All the top runic engravers are here. There are over 5 trillion more waiting outside and can fill up at any time." Julius reported.
Out of all the 9 septillion users of the Universal Runic System, only about 12 trillion were proficient in runic pattern engraving. The rest would need much more effort and trial before they could succeed.
Naturally, because the number was limited, they could only choose the elite of the elites. This included many of the foreign cosmic elites recruited from the Eternal Star Alliance.
Stepping out in front of the crowd, Nash first thanked everyone for their dedication. "Thank you for attending this ambitious project of mine. You should’ve been briefed before about the rules of this place. Thus, if you want to quit now, please do so, as it would not be possible to leave later on."
This project would last for years, or even a few decades. Accelerated at 50,000 times, they might stay here for hundreds of thousands or even a million years.
"We already know this, Supreme Leader Nash. We still want to stay..." Everyone answered, determined to stay.
They were here for a large reward. What they meant was the monumental contribution points they could earn! For every runic pattern, they could earn 1,000 contribution points, which were each worth 10 Void Source Crystals.
What’s more, these contribution points could buy anything within the Eternal Star Alliance. Whether it’s resources, weapons, technology, or even a spot in the leadership.
Of course, if that were all, it would be nothing more than an empty promise. After all, couldn’t they do the same outside? Why suffer under the harsh time dilation? Yet that same time dilation gave them hope.
At 50,000 times acceleration, they could earn 50,000 times more than what they could earn outside. Although the logic was a little skewed, the massive difference might let them catch up to those high-and-mighty talents from the outside world.
"Good, don’t worry. I wouldn’t truly make you spend the whole time here. Every 50 years in here, you can take a walk outside for at least 24 hours. Afterward, you can return."
It would be equivalent to working for 8 hours, then having a 24-hour rest. While they were resting, the remaining 5 trillion outside could fill in. Of course, it had to run in a rotational cycle, ensuring the Eternal Time Server’s full capacity was used at all times.
Meanwhile, hearing that they could rest every 50 years, everyone couldn’t help but cheer up. Before coming here, they had already prepared to be stuck for hundreds of thousands of years; they didn’t expect they would still be given a reprieve.
If Nash knew what they were thinking, he would just roll his eyes. Hundreds of thousands of years without a break? Even he might have gone insane in such a long stretch of time.
According to a previous project he had done with various scientists and professionals, a Tier 6 powerhouse could last only a few hundred years in such an accelerated environment before their mind distorted from time dilation.
Furthermore, prolonged exposure to such a time differential could slowly corrupt their soul, leading to collapse.
Thus, what Nash didn’t tell them was that besides the breaks, he would be giving them a dose of Faith Potion at regular intervals.
This potion could not only strengthen the soul, spirit, and will, but could also anchor them in the universe. Based on previous observations, taking Faith Potion regularly could negate all aftereffects of the time dilation.
Of course, even with the break and potion, staying in such an environment could still break someone’s spirit. Thus, before tackling the Forbidden Dimensional Array, Nash took on this project while those scientists and professionals rested.
Nash didn’t have to worry about spirit collapse. Most of the time, his consciousness was in the runic space, protected from the severe time corruption. All symptoms of time dilation, from loneliness, longing, isolation, and madness, would be minimized once he was inside.
For him, the time he spent in the runic space was like a dream, or like a book written with his experience. It was like looking at it from a third-person perspective and didn’t have any effect on his mental state.
Taking advantage of such a benefit, he naturally wanted to work himself to the bone as long as he could. Once things got busy again, he couldn’t focus on research even if he wanted to.
After explaining the rules, scheduling, rewards, and such, Nash asked everyone to begin the work.
The virtual world was modeled after a pastoral high-tech city. With residences of their own, they arranged their work a little and began engraving runic patterns, pushed on by the runic engraving system.
According to the rules, they had to engrave at least 3 runic patterns a day. Otherwise, they would not only be kicked out, but they would also forfeit all the rewards they earned.
This quota resets each day, meaning even if they engraved a hundred before, they still needed to do another three tomorrow. Fortunately, if they were feeling under the weather, they could apply for assistance, a break, or even a potion to restore them to the most optimal state.
Working with full concentration and watching their contribution points increase little by little, everyone was in a state of flow.
---
Meanwhile, unlike the others at 50,000 times magnitude, Nash was in his runic space working under 500,000 times acceleration.
Inside, tens of millions of runic patterns were being realized each second. As he comprehended each runic pattern, he pushed another set that he might need in his monumental project.
"This Mind Hive Module System is truly defying the rules of the universe..."
The further Nash went into the project, the more he realized how hard it was to rewrite the rules of the universe.
"However, while it was hard, it was not impossible..." Nash thought with a smile.
The Mind Hive Module is a module that can reverse consumption and generation. Runic Pattern was equivalent to the laws and origin of everything. As long as he mastered even the tiniest bit, he could manipulate or even reverse these inherent rules.
Currently, each user of the Universal Module System consumed computational power. Even with his current strength and other amplifications, he could at most bind 10 septillion people.
However, if the Mind Hive Module was successfully completed, he could reverse this logic and instead increase his computational power as more users connected to the Universal Module System!
Essentially, instead of providing power, every user would consume it themselves and even pay him a usage fee. The more users he had, the more computational power he could gain.
Treating all people as nodes to a hive, he could use a part of their minds to increase his own power.
Of course, such a rule-bending creation was extremely difficult. Even with trillions of people in the Eternal Time Server working at 50,000 times acceleration, he wasn’t confident he could complete it in a few decades.
Nash could only rely on the growing number of dark gates to further accelerate time, or on more elites becoming proficient in runic engraving.
Another worry he had was that the universe might punish him for breaking the rules. Although the module’s premise relies on the power of will, and others shouldered the consumption, it still reversed the natural flow of power.
"If I could create this, the mode of this cosmic competition would change." Nash smiled, looking forward to completing the Mind Hive Module System.
