Chapter 39: Esabella vs akon
"Balor’s dogs have really forgotten their place," Esabella said.
Her voice wasn’t a whisper anymore. It was a dominant command that echoed off the place. She didn’t walk; she lunged forward, her hips swaying with a dangerous, lethal elegance. The high slit of her skirt flew open, completely exposing her long, flawless white leg as she swung the dragon-sword with absolute, monstrous strength.
SLASH!
A massive arc of crimson hellfire cut horizontally across the battlefield. The sheer heat of her strike didn’t just counter Akon’s lava vortex—it completely vaporized the liquid, turning the ground back into solid, cracked stone within a fraction of a second. The shockwave struck Akon’s front guard, forcing the four-meter captain to stumble backward three steps, his boots leaving deep gouges in the hardened crust.
Akon’s eyes went wide as he stabilized his balance. "The Vaelorix bloodline weapon... You actually awoke the Dragon-Core?"
"Shut your mouth," Esabella hissed, her beautiful face twisted into a ruthless smile. She spun the massive dragon-sword effortlessly, her long red nails catching the firelight. "You dared to insult my King. For that, I am going to chop your limbs off one by one, peel your volcanic scales from your flesh, and feed your core to the lowest trash mobs in the valley."
"Arrogant bitch!" Akon roared, his face turning purple with rage. "You’re just a queen without a throne! Die!"
Two northern demon soldiers tried to lunge from the side ridge to protect their captain, raising their volcanic axes to strike her back.
Esabella didn’t even turn her head. Her tail whipped backward like a lightning strike. The switchblade bone-shards popped completely outward, and the obsidian arrow tip pierced straight through the first soldier’s chest armor.
Without pausing, she twisted her hips, using the soldier’s body as a shield to block the second axe, before swinging her dragon-sword vertically. The burning blade sliced both demons in half simultaneously, their armor and bones melting into liquid slag before they could even scream.
’She really doesn’t hesitate,’ Dante thought, stepping out of the dried mire. He wiped a streak of ash from his cheek, his eyes locking onto Akon. ’Her combat efficiency is high, but that dragon-sword is draining her natural energy stores quickly. I need to break that kinetic armor now.’
Dante willed his left hand to move. For the first time since falling into the pit, he activated the ring on his middle finger: ’The Asura’s Eye of Fate’.
Buzz.
A sensation traveled down his hand. The dark stone eye embedded in the ring slowly cracked open, its pupil shifting like a tiny vortex. Instantly, Dante’s vision changed completely. The entire battlefield lost its color, turning into a grayscale matrix of lines and energy vectors. The smoke and the fire signatures vanished from his sight, leaving only the structural reality of everything in a five-kilometer radius.
Then, the second function activated: ’Weakness Extraction’.
Dante tracked the lines flowing across Akon’s four-meter frame. The captain’s Magma-Core Plate looked like a glowing wall of defensive energy, but Dante’s eyes locked onto a tiny, flickering red dot. The dot was located right at the small joint where the neck armor met the left collarbone—a single point where the kinetic conversion channels overlapped and created a second delay in energy absorption.
’There it is,’ Dante thought, a dangerous smirk appearing on his face. ’One clean strike on that dot, and the entire structural balance of that armor will collapse.’
Akon raised his glass axe again, his four arms pulsing with dark veins as he prepared a desperate, full-scale volcanic strike. "I’ll bury both of you under this mountain!"
Dante took a deep breath, his invisible blade humming silently as he prepared his stance. " Listen to me. Pin his left side down for two seconds."
Esabella’s eyes sparkled with fanatical excitement as she heard his command. "As you wish, my King!"
Captain Akon did not wait for them to coordinate. Realising the tide was turning, the giant commander let out a deep, guttural roar that caused the cracked floor to ripple. The veins along his four arms pulsed with a dark red light as he drew every drop of his internal energy into his greataxe.
"You think you can play games in my territory?" Akon bellowed, his glowing red eyes wide with desperation. "I’ll turn this entire ridge into an open grave!"
He slammed the butt of his greataxe into the stone. A blinding wave of primordial heat detonated from his position, expanding outward in a circle to scorch everything within thirty meters. The ambient air grew so hot that the iron fittings on the nearby transport carriages began to warp and soften.
Esabella didn’t back down. The fanatical smile on her face only grew sharper, her red lips parting as she shifted her grip on the massive dragon-sword.
"A dog barking at the sun," she mocked softly.
Moving with graceful speed, she lunged directly into the wave of heat. Her skirt parted completely along the high slit, her long leg slicing through the hot wind as she swung the burning blade in a rapid sequence of strikes. She didn’t aim to kill; she followed Dante’s directive precisely.
CLANG! CLANG!
The crystallized blood blade of her sword collided with Akon’s lower left and upper left arms, the sheer impact forcing his iron clubs out of his grip.
Before Akon could recover his balance or use his weapon to retaliate, Esabella twisted her hips in a seductive motion, sending her tail snapping forward like a whip. The switchblade bone-shards dug straight into the joints of his right shoulders, pinning his two right arms firmly against the stone pillar behind him.
"Now, Dante!" Esabella shouted, her muscles straining as she held the four-meter boss in place, her eyes locked onto Dante with pure adoration.
Akon thrashed violently, his kinetic armor flashing a dangerous, blinding white as it tried to absorb the pressure. "Get off me, you royal parasite! You can’t pierce my core!"
"She doesn’t need to pierce it," Dante said, his voice arriving like a freezing draft through the heat.
