Chapter 282: Void Slasher

Logan entered the palace without continuing the conversation any further. Lilith stood there for a few minutes before letting out a sigh and entering as well.

Inside, Mercer was pacing back and forth. Once Lilith entered the palace, Mercer looked directly at her.

"Princess, it’s bad," he said hurriedly.

"What happened?" Lilith asked with her brows furrowed.

"The dragon and orc races were supposed to attack us after some preparation. It should have taken at least two to three weeks. But after their members died in the Thunder Valley, they have sped up their preparations. It won’t take more than three days before they surround our borders. And..."

"And?"

"That Merrick informed his family about his uncle’s death. He was carrying an artifact, and we failed to notice it. So...

We can expect knights from the Ninth and Eighth heavens as well. This fight is not going to be easy."

"Then what do we do?" Lilith asked with a worried expression.

Mercer didn’t reply. He didn’t have any answers for that.

"We can easily help you with this. Why worry so much? Didn’t Master already promise to help?" Yami said.

"It’s not that easy," Mercer said. "Earlier it was just for a few minor advantages. But now, they are coming for revenge. They are coming for..." Mercer stopped and looked at Logan. "They are coming for that sword of yours. You will help us this time, yes. But will they stop after this? No. They will return. And they will return with more power and numbers. There’s no possibility of collaborating with the Navana Empire anymore. How long can we survive?"

The hall became silent again. After some time, Logan looked at Yami. "Head to the upper realm with Lamia and Renata. Once you find that treasure, let me know. I will wait here until then."

Lilith’s face lit up upon hearing that. But both Renata and Lamia frowned at once.

"I am not going, Master," Lamia said.

"Don’t even imagine that I will go," Renata said sharply.

Hearing their answers, Logan let out a sigh. "This isn’t going to be long, you guys."

"Even if it’s only for a second, I am not going," Renata said.

"Me neither," Lamia added with a pout.

Yami couldn’t help but grin. "It’s alright, Master. I alone will be enough. You take care of yourself here. And..." He leaned toward Logan and whispered. "Beware of them. They are planning something bold."

"What are you filling Master’s head with, Yami? Move your ass already." Renata glared at him.

Lamia was also shooting daggers at him.

Yami raised both hands in surrender. "I was only telling the master to be aware of the people from Ninth Heaven. That’s all." Saying that, he immediately brought out a weapon. A double-bladed axe.

The moment it appeared, the air shifted instantly.

The handle of the axe was a mixture of silver and black. Fine white runic lines ran along the surface of the handle.

And the two blades were carved like half moons on both sides, radiating a sharp aura. They were silver in color. The sharp edges glinted against the room light.

Gasp!

"That’s..." Lilith covered her mouth in shock. Nearby guards also froze. Mercer wasn’t that shocked. "That’s Void Slasher. The ninth legendary weapon." Lilith whispered.

"Master, if you kindly allow me, I want to take this with me."

"Sure. But still be careful," Logan said.

"I will, Master."

After that, Yami swung the Void Slasher.

Shing!

A sharp tearing sound echoed. Instantly, a black line appeared before Yami. And then the line stretched to opposite sides, a rift appearing in the middle.

"Space rift," Mercer said. "So that’s its special ability. It’s quite handy. To think they have so many legendary weapons. The Demon Sword, the Ranging Inferno’s Wings, The Thunder Ghost, the Reaper’s Fist. And now this. What a horrifying group."

Yami slowly walked through the space rift and vanished.

"Master." Renata immediately walked up to Logan. "It was a tiring day for you. Let’s go. You need to take some rest." She then turned toward Mercer. "You, goofy bull, go prepare a room for my Master."

Mercer looked left and right, then pointed a finger at himself. "Are you talking to me?"

"Who else?"

Mercer was about to refute, but then noticed there were some other members present as well. "I will arrange it soon."

"Let’s go, Master." Renata slipped an arm around Logan’s and started pulling in the opposite direction Lilith was standing.

Lamia also looked like she was in a hurry to leave with Logan. Logan couldn’t help but smile with a sigh. "You two, calm down a little."

He then looked toward Lilith. "I will stay here for the moment if that’s not a problem," Logan said.

It sounded a bit strange because Renata and Lamia had already ordered Mercer to prepare a room. But he knew it was better to talk it through properly. "Since you all are worried that they won’t stop until they have taken their revenge, I will stay here and help you guys till I can. You all can think of a better solution during that time for what you will do when I am gone."

"Thank you very much," Lilith said with warmth in her voice.

Logan nodded, then left with the girls. Mercer guided him to a room in the east wing of the palace.

"Are you three going to stay in the same room or separate?" Mercer asked.

"Separate," Logan said. But...

"Of course in one room." The two girls said almost in unison.

"Master, why would you stay in a separate room? You worked hard today. We should take care of you." Renata said.

"Yes," Lamia added.

Logan pretended to glare at them. "Don’t think I don’t know what you two are thinking."

With that, Logan entered the room in front. Renata and Lamia were about to follow, but Logan shut the room behind him.

Both the girls pouted.

Mercer couldn’t help but chuckle.

But Lamia and Renata both glared at him.

His smile vanished instantly. "Let me show you your room." He said and started walking without waiting for their reply, but he could feel the cold gazes on his back.

"That Princess looks suspicious," Renata whispered.

"Definitely," Lamia added in a hushed voice, as if they were discussing a serious matter.

"We need to keep him away from that brat," Renata said.

Lamia nodded.
