Chapter 602: Chapter 602 - To The Headquarters

"I have to be there as well?" Leyvi hadn’t expected that.

He had assumed he could simply tell Gandolf what he had discovered and leave the rest to the Protectors.

"Hohoho. Of course you have to be there. They’ll definitely want to investigate the memory you discovered, and so far, you’re the only one who has managed to enter that deeper consciousness. Your assistance is necessary."

Leyvi couldn’t argue with that reasoning. His only concern was whether he could actually replicate what he had done.

His success had depended heavily on luck. His daughters had resonated with his mantra at the exact moment he needed more mental power, allowing him to overcome the repelling force. He had no idea whether they could reproduce the same phenomenon again.

Seeing Leyvi hesitate, Gandolf continued.

"It’s not just your mental power that we need. I’m sure your ability to understand the ancient language will be just as useful."

Leyvi raised his head and listened.

"Our headquarters has an entire vault filled with ancient relics and writings. We’ve long suspected that some of them might contain important records from that era. If you can translate them, we might be able to uncover some crucial clues."

He paused briefly.

"That’s something only you can do."

Leyvi smiled wryly.

He had a feeling that he was going to become involved with the Protectors quite frequently from now on, whether he liked it or not.

His Universal Language ability was practically the ultimate treasure for anyone studying the ancient civilization and trying to decipher its lost language.

Still, Gandolf was right. His ability could prove extremely useful in the current situation.

"Alright. I’ll come along." Leyvi agreed before adding, "But I’d like to bring my children with me."

"Your children?"

Gandolf clearly hadn’t expected that request.

"I’ve been mostly in seclusion for the past ten years, so I haven’t spent much time with them. They’ve also spent almost all their time here. Since we’re going out, I’d like to show them the world outside." Leyvi explained.

He also wasn’t completely sure whether he could overcome the repelling force on his own again. If his daughters could somehow replicate what they did earlier, their help might be necessary.

"Hoo... I see, I see. I don’t see any problem with that. Don’t worry, this old man will guarantee their safety." Gandolf gave his assurance.

They were going to need Leyvi’s help to resolve this crisis, so bringing his children along was a trivial matter.

"Senior Gandolf, I have something to say on my husband’s behalf."

Anda, who had remained silent beside Leyvi, suddenly spoke up.

Gandolf turned toward her and nodded, waiting for her to continue.

"I have some concerns about how people might treat my husband. His ability to understand and translate languages is a secret known only to our family. He has never intended to reveal it to outsiders because it would only bring unnecessary attention. This time, however, he has no choice but to expose it because of the situation we’re facing."

Her eyes narrowed slightly.

"Senior Gandolf, I hope my husband’s ability will remain confidential. And after this calamity is resolved, please don’t try to exploit him simply because his ability is highly beneficial to the continent. Everything should be done according to his willingness. If he doesn’t want to help with something, nobody should force him."

Anda said everything she wanted to say, but not quite everything she was thinking.

If you people ever try to exploit my husband for whatever reason, don’t blame me for being ruthless.

That final warning remained unspoken.

With their current means, they could simply leave the Cloud Continent and settle somewhere else. They didn’t have to risk themselves trying to save this place.

But Leyvi considered the Cloud Continent their home and wanted to remain here. That was the only reason he was getting involved in the first place.

If the Protectors tried to exploit him after he revealed some of his secrets to help them, however, Anda would not stand by and watch.

They could try making themselves her next Universe Airship ramming victims if they really wanted to test her patience.

Gandolf looked at Anda with approval.

This girl had always been protective of her husband. He still remembered the time she had completely lost control and slaughtered the people who had harmed Leyvi.

Just like Leyvi, Gandolf believed that Anda would become an extraordinary figure in the future.

There was a very good reason for that.

She possessed the Heavenly Fragrant Harmony Body, the same Unique Heavenly Body that had once belonged to the Devilish Fragrant Empress.

The Devilish Fragrant Empress from fifteen thousand years ago had been a notorious figure who enslaved the entire continent, but Gandolf hoped that Anda would walk a completely different path.

"Hohoho! Young Madam, it seems we have the same thoughts. There are certainly a few of my colleagues who will be quite eager to make use of his ability, but don’t worry. This old man will make sure they behave themselves."

Gandolf smiled confidently.

"Nobody will exploit your husband under my watch. They wouldn’t dare."

"Thank you, Senior Gandolf. Now I can be at ease."

Anda smiled.

For some reason, Gandolf couldn’t shake the feeling that if anyone ever tried to do something to Leyvi, this girl might prove more dangerous than the impending calamity itself.

...

Not long after, Leyvi departed with Gandolf and his disciples for the Cloud Continent Protectors’ headquarters in the Central Region.

This time, Gandolf flew much faster than when he had traveled to Bara City, even though he was carrying more people. He had deliberately held back his speed on the way there to conserve his energy in case he encountered a powerful enemy, but there was no need for such caution anymore.

According to Gandolf, they would reach the headquarters in just four days, including the time he needed to rest along the way. Compared to an average airship that would take more than two months to cover the same distance, his flying speed was astonishing.

Before they departed, Gandolf had already activated an utmost priority token to summon all the Protectors across the continent. By now, they should all be making their way toward the headquarters as quickly as possible.

This was the first time the token had been used since its creation. It could only be activated when there was sufficient reason to believe that the entire continent was facing a grave danger.

Knowing this, Gandolf could imagine how alarmed the other Protectors must have been when they received the summons.

Not many people accompanied Leyvi on this journey. Aside from Anda, his four children and his spirit beasts came along, which naturally included Lapin.

Anda had wanted Caterina to come with them, but she had refused. Most of the Protectors were respected seniors she had known in the past, so just like with Gandolf, she would feel embarrassed meeting them under these circumstances.

More importantly, Caterina felt that it was time for her to return to Holy Cat City and prepare for the impending calamity herself. She had lived there for a thousand years, after all. She couldn’t simply stand by and let anything happen to the city she considered her home.

Inside the special Qi barrier Gandolf had created to carry everyone at extreme speed, Leylin, Leyana, Leyina, and Leywini excitedly looked down at the scenery rushing past below them.

They had no idea where they were going, but simply being able to see the vast world outside Bara Territory was enough to excite them. Leylin was especially fascinated by the many flying demonic beasts they passed along the way, his eyes following them whenever one appeared below.

During the journey, Gandolf suddenly sensed an extremely powerful presence coming from Leyvi’s spirit beast bag. Lapin had tried his best to conceal himself, but with everyone traveling so close together, completely hiding his presence from a Soul Transformation Realm expert was impossible.

Worried that a powerful being might be hiding inside the bag and waiting for an opportunity to attack, Gandolf sent a sound transmission to Leyvi.

"Leyvi, this old man sensed an extremely powerful being inside your spirit beast bag. Are you aware of it?"

His tone was serious.

Leyvi wasn’t surprised. He had already expected that bringing Lapin along would eventually expose his existence, but he had decided to bring him anyway for everyone’s safety.

Since Gandolf had already noticed him, Leyvi couldn’t simply brush it off with some random excuse. That would only arouse suspicion, especially when they were dealing with such an important matter. The last thing he wanted was for mistrust to develop between them.

Besides, the Protectors were a group of righteous cultivators, so Leyvi believed it would be fine to tell Gandolf the truth.

He made his decision and immediately told Lapin to reveal himself.

The next moment, a gentlemanly man with long ears and buck teeth appeared beside Leyvi. The bloodline aura he had been suppressing was no longer concealed and freely spread throughout the surroundings.

Gandolf, who had been sitting cross-legged while controlling their flight, suddenly widened his eyes.

"This... a King Level Demonic Beast?"

"Senior Gandolf, this is Senior Lapin, my King Level Spirit Beast." Leyvi introduced him.

Gandolf was utterly dumbfounded.

A King Level Spirit Beast?

How in the world was such a thing possible?
