“They’re really good at hiding.”

Shen Bai had been constantly monitoring his surroundings with his Void-breaking Red Eye.

He hadn’t spotted anyone from the Demonic Forces, and everyone seemed to treat him like a local. Shen Bai himself hadn’t detected anything out of the ordinary.

‘I’ll try to grab a wisp of this magma Qi.’

Unable to find anything unusual, Shen Bai decided to try and capture a wisp of Magma Qi first. After all, this stuff was clearly extraordinary.

With that thought, Shen Bai flew toward the next wisp of Magma Qi as soon as it appeared.

Seeing fewer and fewer people around, Xu Sheng Taoist’s suspicions grew by the day.

‘Could this really be so simple?’

‘Did Shen Bai really not come down here?’

‘Then what in the world is he up to?’

Numerous thoughts raced through his mind.

Monk Mingxin pointed in a certain direction. “Over there.”

Just then, the wisp of Magma Qi happened to be flying in the direction Monk Mingxin had indicated.

Dean Hou waved his hand. “After it!”

This particular wisp of Magma Qi gave them the perfect excuse to give chase.

Soon, numerous members of the Demonic Forces, split into groups, pursued the Magma Qi.

Shen Bai’s Speed was extremely fast. It didn’t take long for him to reach the wisp of Magma Qi.

He reached out, his hand enveloped in the light of his Flawless Divine Soul Body, and grabbed the Magma Qi.

The moment the Magma Qi was in his grasp, Shen Bai felt a frantic, searing heat surge toward him, trying to bore into his body.

‘According to the Artifact Refining Sect, this stuff can not only be used for Artifact Refining, but it can also nourish the body. It seems trying to enter my body is how it nourishes you.’

But how could Shen Bai let such a mysterious substance enter his body? He circulated the Qi within him, and the wisp of Magma Qi vanished completely.

The people chasing it saw this and assumed Shen Bai had absorbed the Magma Qi. They stopped their pursuit and headed off toward another wisp.

Shen Bai didn’t give chase again.

He understood that this Magma Qi was useless to him, so he lost all interest in pursuing it.

Instead of chasing this stuff, he might as well look for anomalies. After all, rumors said that anomalies existed within the Molten Rock Forbidden Land.

Thinking of this, Shen Bai mentally asked Amber a question.

“Have you sensed the presence of any anomalies?”

As soon as he asked, Amber replied immediately.

“Master, I think I sense something, but the trail is very faint. I can’t pinpoint the exact location.”

“It’s probably because we’re not close enough. Master, you can fly around, and I’ll let you know when we’re near enough.”

Shen Bai nodded. He changed course and, following Amber’s guidance, flew off in a new direction.

The Magma Qi was extremely important to the people of Molten Rock City. Along the way, Shen Bai even saw many people come to blows over it.

Some had even died for it.

But this all seemed to be an unwritten rule. No one intervened, and what’s more, no one seemed to think there was anything wrong with it.

Shen Bai continued his search. Before long, Amber’s voice echoed in his mind.

“Master, I’ve detected a trace of the anomaly. It’s right below you.”

Below me?

Shen Bai turned and scanned the area beneath his feet.

Below him was a sea of molten rock, and even from a distance, the temperature was clearly immense.

Shen Bai frowned and began to fly downward, soon approaching the surface of the magma.

But just then, figure after figure began approaching his position.

Furthermore, all one thousand of them were heading directly for his location.

‘It seems this must be the Demonic Forces,’ Shen Bai thought.

There was no Magma Qi here, yet all these people had converged on this spot. That alone was enough to arouse suspicion.

After a moment of contemplation, Shen Bai executed Shadow Kill, melting into the shadows and concealing his presence.

He had just vanished when, a moment later, the thousand-strong group arrived.

Xu Sheng Taoist scanned the surroundings and asked, “Is this the place?”

Monk Mingxin nodded. “Yes, this is it.”

Dean Hou frowned. “Why haven’t we found Shen Bai yet? Could he really have not entered the Magma Domain?”

Xu Sheng Taoist said, “Dean, don’t worry too much. If we haven’t found Shen Bai, it just proves he really didn’t come in. That’s a good thing for us. Once we’ve accomplished our goal, it will be time for Shen Bai to die.”

Dean Hou sighed, knowing it was true.

Still, a part of him was worried because everything had gone far too smoothly.

Xu Sheng Taoist was about to order his men to break open the magma below when, at that exact moment, an ordinary-looking man suddenly appeared before them.

The man’s appearance immediately drew everyone’s attention.

“Who are you!” A heart-pounding black Qi emanated from Monk Mingxin.

The crowd drew their Weapons, ready for a fight.

The man had appeared so abruptly that even they hadn’t had time to react.

Shen Bai smiled. “You don’t recognize me?”

Xu Sheng Taoist frowned. “If you’re looking for Magma Qi, please leave immediately. There is none here.”

He was certain he had never seen this man before.

Shen Bai’s expression cleared as if in sudden realization. “Oh, I almost forgot. I’m still wearing this face.”

As his words fell, the Qi inside Shen Bai’s body began to circulate.

Then, an utterly astonishing scene unfolded before their eyes.

The ordinary-looking man before them suddenly changed shape. His height and build shrank slightly.

Not only that, but the man’s facial features gradually became handsome and well-defined.
