I Can Extract Divine Power

Chapter 747 - 224: Someone Is in the Forbidden Land

  • Next Chapter

Inside the Observatory’s five-story building.

Ding Quan had already left. Shen Bai sat alone, his thoughts on the Molten Rock Forbidden Land.

’What exactly are these Jianghu Demons trying to do with the Devouring Attribute of the Ten Thousand Gu Insects?’

Shen Bai tapped his fingers on the desk, his brow deeply furrowed.

’The Ten Thousand Gu Insects possess the Devouring Attribute. They wouldn’t be doing this for nothing. They must be using that attribute for some scheme involving the Molten Rock Forbidden Land.’

’But how could the Devouring Attribute of the Ten Thousand Gu Insects even be used?’

Shen Bai circulated the Qi within his body and cast the Infinite Divination Skill.

As the Eight Trigrams of the Infinite Divination Skill spread out before Shen Bai’s eyes, all he saw was a shroud of mist.

Shen Bai withdrew his hand. ’Someone has obscured the threads of fate,’ he thought. ’They were prepared for this. This won’t be easy.’

He had just attempted to use the Infinite Divination Skill, but had learned little.

The only thing he could be sure of was a vision of mixed fortune and misfortune.

Beyond that, he had learned nothing.

Red Makeup poured Shen Bai a cup of tea. Holding it by the rim with both hands, she offered it to him. "There’s no need to be so troubled, Master," she said. "It’s come to this. We have to go, no matter what."

Shen Bai took the cup, cleared his mind, and took a sip. "You’re right," he said.

His enemies’ intentions were clear: they wanted to use the Molten Rock Forbidden Land to cause trouble. As for who that trouble was for... Shen Bai didn’t have to guess. It was for him.

It was an open challenge, a plot laid bare, waiting to see if Shen Bai would take the bait.

’Since I have to face it sooner or later, I might as well put my worries aside for now. Grinding more Skill Level is the priority.’

With that, Shen Bai stopped overthinking. After finishing his tea, he began to grind the Skill Level for his Void-breaking Red Eye.

The room fell silent once more.

...

Time flew by.

Three days passed in the blink of an eye.

For the past three days, Shen Bai had been completely immersed in furiously grinding his Void-breaking Red Eye.

Although he hadn’t managed to raise Void-breaking Red Eye to Level 6, he was now very close.

As Shen Bai stepped out of his room, he happened to run into Wang Teng.

"I’m leaving the Observatory in your hands," Shen Bai said.

With Lingyun Dao now stable and the new Daoist Order having taken charge, it was time for Shen Bai to focus on the Molten Rock Forbidden Land.

And today was the day the Molten Rock Forbidden Land was set to open.

While the exact opening time of a Forbidden Land couldn’t be predicted, the fluctuations from the one in Cangnan Dao were growing increasingly unstable. Shen Bai needed to get there early and prepare.

Wang Teng cupped his hands. "Rest assured, Lord Shen. If anything goes wrong in Lingyun Dao, you can have my head."

Shen Bai smiled. "Your head is better off on your shoulders. Don’t be rash. Think things through carefully before you act."

Wang Teng nodded in agreement.

Shen Bai said no more. He was making this journey alone. He soared into the air, cast Divine Thousand Miles, and flew toward Cangnan Dao.

Wang Teng and the other members of the Observatory raised their heads, gazing at Shen Bai’s departing figure. "With Lord Shen on the move," one sighed, "I fear another Demonic Force is about to suffer."

This trust had been forged by Shen Bai, one sword strike at a time.

The trust the members of the Lingyun Dao Observatory placed in Shen Bai was absolute. They believed that every one of his journeys meant the end of another Demonic Force.

After watching for a moment, the Observatory members returned to their duties.

...

Cangnan Dao was adjacent to Lingyun Dao, so with Shen Bai traveling at full speed, it wasn’t long before he arrived at the city gates.

He descended from the sky, landing right before a group of waiting members from the Cangnan Dao Observatory.

Their leader was a middle-aged man exuding a terrifying aura.

Upon closer inspection, Shen Bai sensed that the man’s aura had reached the peak of the Celestial Spirit Realm.

The middle-aged man saw Shen Bai, mentally compared him to a portrait to confirm his identity, and spoke. "I am Yu Li Xuan, Daoist Si of the Cangnan Dao Observatory. Greetings, Lord Shen."

Shen Bai cupped his hands in return. "Lord Yu. I am honored that you would come to greet me personally."

Yu Li Xuan laughed. "You’re too kind, Lord Shen. We both serve the Observatory; we are colleagues. This opening of the Forbidden Land is proving quite troublesome for Cangnan Dao. The fact that you would come personally to help shows you hold us in high regard. I can’t thank you enough."

Shen Bai smiled back. "You flatter me, Lord Yu."

Their exchange was brief, but it was clear from their few words that they got along well.

After the pleasantries, Shen Bai spoke.

"Lord Yu, matters in Lingyun Dao are also pressing. Perhaps we could go directly to the Forbidden Land?"

He had come specifically for the Forbidden Land and didn’t want to waste any time.

Yu Li Xuan nodded. "This is Jiao Hong, Jia Shou of our Jia Division. He will take you to the Forbidden Land. I have official duties and cannot go myself. I hope you are not offended, Lord Shen."

Jiao Hong stepped forward and bowed respectfully. "Greetings, Lord Shen."

They were both Daoist Si of the Observatory; they understood the weight of the position. It was indeed inconvenient for Yu Li Xuan to personally escort Shen Bai.

Sending a Jia Shou was already a sign of great respect.

Shen Bai rested his hand on the hilt of his Cold Moon Sword. "Then let’s be on our way."

The pleasantries were over. It was time for business.

Jiao Hong, along with a dozen or so Observatory members, began to lead the way.

Without dawdling, Shen Bai followed them away from the city gate.

...

The Forbidden Land was, of course, not within the city itself. Its location was over a hundred li west of it, on the other side.
