I Can Evolve Spirit Elementals
Chapter 71: Death of the Frostfang Tyrant
Chapter 71: Chapter 71: Death of the Frostfang Tyrant
After one final clash, it stumbled backward before crashing heavily onto one knee.
BOOOM!!
The entire chamber shook.
Damon stopped several meters away.
His chest rose and fell steadily.
His blood was still racing.
"So..."
"You’ve still got some fight left."
The Tyrant slowly forced itself back to its feet.
Even Damon couldn’t help respecting it.
"You’re stubborn."
"I like that."
Freya’s excitement poured through their connection.
One more?
Damon smiled.
"One more."
Lightning flowed into the spear once again.
Their pressure rose together.
Across the battlefield...
Sylphie moved first.
Her wings beat once.
Twice.
The wind screamed.
Hundreds of compressed wind blades spiraled together into a single massive vortex before crashing directly into the Tyrant.
BOOOOM!!
The beast instinctively raised both forelegs to defend.
Its vision disappeared behind the raging winds.
Perfect.
Damon’s smile widened.
"I’ve got an idea."
Freya immediately understood.
Her excitement almost burst through their bond.
Do it!
Damon sprinted.
Not toward the Tyrant.
Around it.
His footsteps became lighter.
Faster.
He circled until he found the perfect angle.
The beast never noticed.
Its attention remained trapped inside Sylphie’s storm.
"There."
He planted one foot firmly.
His body twisted.
Every muscle tightened.
Wind gathered around his arm.
Lightning wrapped around the spear.
Instead of thrusting...
He threw it.
"Lightning Art..."
"Skybreaker Javelin!"
BOOOOM!!
The spear disappeared.
The throw alone shattered the ground beneath Damon.
Wind pushed it even faster.
Lightning swallowed it whole.
Halfway through the flight...
Freya awakened.
Her own power erupted from within the spear.
Silver lightning exploded around its shaft.
The spear accelerated again.
Even Damon lost sight of it.
Only a silver line remained.
The Tyrant finally sensed danger.
It turned...
Too late.
CRAAAAACK!!!
The spear punched clean through its chest.
Not pierced.
Punched through.
The impact erupted from its back in a violent explosion of lightning.
Silver currents burst from every wound across its body.
The frozen armor shattered all at once.
The beast screamed.
"RRRRAAAAGGHHH!!"
Its enormous body lifted off the ground before crashing backward through three massive crystal pillars.
BOOOOM!!
Even Damon stared with wide eyes.
"...That..."
He blinked.
"...wasn’t supposed to be that strong."
Freya proudly laughed through the connection.
Sylphie chirped excitedly in agreement.
Damon couldn’t stop smiling.
"We’re definitely keeping that one."
The spear spun back toward him.
He reached out.
His fingers wrapped around the shaft perfectly.
The returning force nearly pulled him forward.
Instead...
He used it.
The momentum flowed through his body.
His feet barely touched the ground before he spun with it.
One smooth motion.
One clean rotation.
The shaft hummed.
Lightning burst from both ends.
Damon’s grin became wild.
"Let’s finish this."
The Tyrant barely managed to raise its head.
It saw him.
It saw the spear.
Then...
Damon vanished.
He appeared directly beside its neck.
The spinning shaft struck first.
"Lightning Art..."
"Thunderwheel Break!"
BOOOOOM!!
The reinforced shaft crashed into the side of the Tyrant’s jaw with overwhelming force.
Lightning erupted across the point of impact.
The blow snapped its head sideways.
The shockwave rippled through its entire body.
Cracks spread across the frozen crystals covering its neck.
Its massive frame spun helplessly before crashing into the ground one last time.
The chamber trembled.
Silence followed.
Only the crackling of silver lightning remained.
Damon slowly lowered the spear.
A grin still rested on his face.
"...Now that..."
"That felt awesome."
Damon let out a long breath.
"It’s over..."
Only after confirming the Frostfang Tyrant had truly stopped breathing did he finally allow himself to relax.
The excitement from the battle slowly faded.
The adrenaline disappeared with it.
What replaced it was pure exhaustion.
His legs gave out.
"Yeah... I think I’ve earned this."
He dropped onto the ground with a tired laugh.
At almost the same time, the silver spear in his hand dissolved into countless sparks.
The light gathered beside him before Freya returned to her fox form.
She looked just as tired.
Without saying anything, she quietly walked over and curled up against his side.
"Mmm..."
Damon smiled and gently rubbed behind her ears.
"You worked hard."
Freya happily closed her eyes.
Their connection carried the same feeling between them.
Fatigue.
Satisfaction.
And excitement.
Fighting as one had drained far more Aether than training ever did.
Even when Freya fought in her beast form, she had never felt this exhausted.
Still...
Neither of them regretted it.
Not even a little.
"You were amazing."
Freya’s tails swayed weakly.
Nearby, Sylphie floated over with a tiny pout.
"Crii..."
Damon laughed.
"You too."
He reached up and scratched the little Roc beneath her beak.
"You were all over that Tyrant. I don’t think it even knew where you were half the time."
Her eyes immediately curved into happy crescents.
She proudly puffed out her chest.
Seeing the two of them made Damon’s smile grow even wider.
They had all become stronger.
Not just on their own.
Together.
That was what made him happiest.
He reached into his storage bag and pulled out another healing potion.
"Time for a break."
He took a few mouthfuls.
Warm energy spread through his body.
The soreness in his muscles eased almost immediately, and the heavy feeling in his limbs slowly disappeared.
He stretched both arms.
"Much better."
Without hesitation, he handed the remaining potion to Freya.
She licked it happily before Sylphie also took a small share.
Neither wasted a drop.
Healing potions weren’t just useful for injuries.
After a battle like that, recovering stamina was just as important.
Once everyone had rested for a few minutes, Damon clapped his hands together.
"Alright."
"Back to work."
Both spirits immediately looked away.
They knew exactly what he meant.
Harvesting.
Neither looked interested.
Damon smiled knowingly.
"I’ll pay you."
Two pairs of eyes immediately turned toward him.
"...With snacks."
Freya was already standing.
Sylphie chirped excitedly.
Damon couldn’t help laughing.
"I knew that would work."
The three quickly got to work.
Just like before, Sylphie was the most skilled, as her control over wind had become incredibly delicate.
