I Can Equip Infinitely
Chapter 52 - 50: Cultivation Technique x1
Chapter 52: Chapter 50: Cultivation Technique x1
The sensation caused by Chen Huangbei probably wouldn’t die down anytime soon.
Su Tan and the Little White Wolf had no interest in listening to them flatter each other anymore.
Su Tan had figured it out. Whether they were hyping Chen Huangbei, Yi, or Murong Chui... they all had their own brain-dead fans. It was just like the obsessive idol worshippers from his past life. He couldn’t understand why they didn’t focus on their cultivation properly instead of wasting their days on such nonsense.
A thin, wispy mist drifted through the Sea of Pillars. It blanketed the Sea of Stones, making it look like a true Immortal Realm.
The Little White Wolf led Su Tan all the way into the inheritance grounds of the Dominator Body.
A towering stone pillar stood before them, carved with countless motifs. There were bizarre-looking Exotic Beasts, ferocious Qilins, and incomprehensible patterns that resembled swimming dragons. It was a complete hodgepodge.
"This is the inheritance pillar of the Dominator Body, specifically used for the descendants of the Overlord Physique to comprehend the Dao," the Little White Wolf introduced.
"Then, how do I obtain the Cultivation Techniques on it?" Su Tan asked. In truth, there were hardly any living creatures in the Dominator Body area.
"If I knew, I would have emptied out all the Cultivation Techniques here!" the Little White Wolf replied.
"Actually, there’s no specific method for this. As long as you have an affinity with the Cultivation Technique and gain the pillar’s acknowledgement, the Cultivation Technique inside will naturally brand itself into your mind.
"Some people only have to touch it once to receive a Cultivation Technique. Others come up here every time to painstakingly meditate, sitting cross-legged for months on end until they move the pillar enough to obtain just one. Some just stare at the pillar, and the patterns on it will evolve on their own, converging into a Cultivation Technique that carves itself into their heads.
"Of course, there are also the so-called children of destiny. They don’t have to do anything at all. They just take a stroll through the Sea of Pillars, and various Cultivation Techniques practically throw themselves at them... I heard that ’Yi’ is one of those children of destiny!"
"So you’re saying that no matter what method you use, there’s a chance to awaken a Cultivation Technique?" Su Tan asked.
"Yeah!"
"Understood!" Su Tan nodded. He slowly approached the stone pillar.
He wondered if he could directly use the system to equip and fuse the Cultivation Method Manual since it was carved onto the stone pillar.
It was highly possible!
For a regular Cultivation Technique, the medium could be paper, jade slips, cloth, and so on. The system could equip all of them, extracting them into the equipment slots. For the Cultivation Techniques here, the medium was simply swapped out for a stone pillar. He should be able to equip them directly!
Su Tan felt a stir of excitement. He reached out and pressed his hand flat against the pillar.
The stone was freezing, as if he were touching a block of ice. The surface wasn’t smooth either; it had a rough texture. It was crisscrossed with grooves, carved with many unknown patterns.
DING.
"Detected Body Refining Technique Cultivation Method Manuals: x543!"
Huh? Five hundred and forty-three?
Su Tan’s expression brightened, his heart leaping with excitement!
Sure enough... With the stone pillar acting as the medium, the system could detect exactly how many Secret Manuals were on it.
"Equip!" Su Tan attempted to equip the Cultivation Techniques from the stone pillar.
BEEP BEEP BEEP.
"Warning! Detected that the Cultivation Techniques do not currently belong to the host. Unable to equip!"
Red lights flashed across the system interface.
"Why?" Su Tan muttered, watching his guaranteed prize slip right through his fingers.
DING.
"Currently, there is a barrier between the stone pillar’s Cultivation Techniques and the host. The host cannot truly extract the Cultivation Techniques, nor even come into contact with them. Please manually extract the Cultivation Techniques from within the stone pillar, or eliminate the fundamental barrier between the stone pillar’s Cultivation Techniques and the host before equipping!"
Su Tan frowned slightly. He understood what the system meant.
In other words, the stone pillar was equivalent to a locked chest. The 543 Cultivation Techniques were locked inside. To prove that these Cultivation Techniques belonged to him, he had to open the chest and make the barrier preventing him from directly contacting the Cultivation Techniques disappear. That was the only way it would work.
It seemed that obtaining the Cultivation Techniques from inside the stone pillar wouldn’t be simple!
"Then can I just directly equip the stone pillar?"
If he could equip the stone pillar itself, then forget the Cultivation Techniques inside—even the entire pillar would belong to him.
It had to be said that Su Tan’s imagination was quite unconventional. He was always coming up with bizarre workarounds.
DING.
"Yes, but the stone pillar exceeds the limits of a Level 1 item. The host has insufficient authority and cannot equip it!"
Su Tan was rendered speechless.
His method was viable. By equipping the stone pillar, the pillar would belong to him, not to mention the Cultivation Techniques inside. The only problematic issue was his insufficient authority.
How great would it be if there were no authority restrictions? He could just directly equip the entire world into his Inventory, making him the ruler of the world...
Of course, that was just wishful thinking. It was completely unrealistic.
If this didn’t work and that didn’t work either, then he could only rely on his comprehension!
Su Tan was blind. He began to use his palms to feel the patterns on the stone pillar. He traced every groove and every carving that seemed inlaid into the stone. They were incredibly lifelike. Since he could only rely on his hands to touch them, he took his time. There was no rushing this kind of thing, and Su Tan knew exactly how to pace himself.
However, the stone pillar was simply too massive. He spent a long time feeling around, yet only managed to cover a small area.
This small section depicted an Exotic Beast. It had four legs, two heads, and two horns on each head. Its body was lean and well-defined!
This was all the information Su Tan could gather through touch. There wasn’t a single clue about a Cultivation Technique.
"Does this stone pillar really hide Cultivation Techniques?" he thought.
He felt absolutely nothing. If it weren’t for the fact that other geniuses could extract Cultivation Techniques from the stone pillars, Su Tan would have suspected that this thing was just randomly carved and that the so-called Cultivation Techniques didn’t even exist!
"Heaven rewards the diligent; there will always be a chance. Tell you what, I don’t really have anything to do here anyway. I want to wander around the other floors to take care of some business. You can slowly comprehend things here by yourself. If I don’t come back later, just log out directly, and we’ll meet back at home!"
The Little White Wolf couldn’t stay any longer. It had once been stubborn itself, spending a significant amount of time bitterly searching within the Stone Forest. But alas... it had been forced to face reality. It felt that it was of no use staying here, so it wanted to go elsewhere to search for its own lucky encounters.
"Yeah, alright!"
This was the Void God Realm, so there was no fear of encountering any real danger. Therefore, Su Tan agreed to the Little White Wolf’s request.
The Little White Wolf gave him a few words of advice before leaving.
In front of the massive inheritance pillar of the Dominator Body, Su Tan was the only one left!
Silence! Utter deathly silence!
There wasn’t a single sound. He could only hear his own heartbeat and breathing. This was fine, too; he could peacefully study the stone pillar.
Su Tan continued to run his hands over the stone pillar...
One minute, two minutes, three minutes...
An hour...
Time trickled by. Su Tan still gained absolutely nothing. He didn’t trigger a single Cultivation Technique. It was as if those Cultivation Techniques had a grudge against him and refused to come into contact with him...
He didn’t have a single clue. It was no different from hugging a normal rock and studying it. Su Tan was certain that he had no relationship with destiny whatsoever.
Could this thing really grant someone an epiphany for a Cultivation Technique? Su Tan doubted it for the second time.
However, since the system had detected them, it shouldn’t be wrong! He continued fumbling around, hoping to suddenly get a pleasant surprise.
One hour, two hours...
Two hours passed. The stone pillar still didn’t emit the slightest fluctuation.
Su Tan was speechless. He had been touching it for so long; it should have given him at least some sort of reaction.
"Damn it... what the hell is this thing?"
BAM!
Feeling disheartened and exasperated, Su Tan slammed his fist into the stone pillar. The complete lack of a reaction was a huge blow to his self-confidence.
Sure enough, when it came to talent and luck, he just wasn’t as good as others. Since the stone pillar was completely ignoring him, he prepared to give up on comprehending it. He would think of other ways to obtain Cultivation Techniques, such as trading with others in the Void God Realm or purchasing them in the real world.
Either way, he felt that relying on this stone pillar was a lost cause. He simply wasn’t the chosen one destined for greatness. There really was nothing he could do about it.
DING.
"Detected that the host has knocked out a Cultivation Technique x1... Equippable! Do you wish to equip it?" the system chimed in.
Huh???
Su Tan was stunned.
Just as he was about to abandon these stone pillars, he actually received this notification.
What an unexpected surprise.
