I Can Enlighten Everything
Chapter 56: Crazy Positioning!
Chapter 56: Chapter 56: Crazy Positioning!
Seeing the man’s posture, a hint of helplessness flashed in Vierlia’s eyes. Although she was a queen, it was just as he had said. They were currently allies, not superiors and subordinates. However, Vierlia looked down at the faintly glowing mobile phone in her hand. This world was not that simple.
"COUGH COUGH."
The two light coughs breaking the silence made the black-robed man instantly raise his longsword, turning to block in front of Vierlia.
On the small road outside the residential house, a silhouette stood silently atop a streetlight. It was Shen Yun, who had chased after them.
"Sure enough, there are accomplices," Shen Yun said. His gaze briefly swept over the young girl, and he couldn’t help but feel a trace of awe at her beauty. But it was just awe. When it came to resisting beauty, he had already been trained to an outstanding level by Xiaojiu.
"To think you could actually catch up," the black-robed man muttered. He then raised his voice. "I said before, I have no intention of making enemies out of you."
"Is that so..." Shen Yun placed his hands behind his back and narrowed his eyes slightly. "But your actions don’t tell me that. You should know, if you had succeeded tonight, what would welcome us would very likely be war."
"If I didn’t do that, you would face a fate far more tragic than war—being enslaved by the darkness." The man’s flat expression seemed to say that they should be thanking him for it.
So much so that Shen Yundu couldn’t help but laugh. He laughed out of sheer anger. There really were such shameless people in this world.
"I don’t care where you came from, nor do I care what your purpose is." Shen Yun raised his palm. A pellet mixed with rings of lightning danced at his fingertips, his tone filled with danger. "Now, you have violated our rules. If you don’t surrender without a fight... you will very likely die."
As if to reflect his words, RUMBLE RUMBLE echoed high in the sky as a bolt of lightning streaked across the heavens behind Shen Yun. The intimidating intent was on full display.
Vierlia sighed softly in her heart.
"Step aside, Alberta. You were the one who attacked first. We should avoid meaningless battles," she could only say.
However, the man named Alberta did not move an inch. Hearing Vierlia’s blaming tone, a trace of anger suddenly flashed through his originally resolute gaze. Even two or three veins bulged on his forehead.
"A Paladin will not yield to any threat of force!" he said in English, then stared fixedly at Shen Yun. "Although you are a Great Saint, you are not a true Warrior at all. As for me, I have fought to protect the Holy Light for two hundred years. Therefore, the result of this battle will definitely be me injured, and you dead."
His English had an obvious stiffness to it, but he had managed to express his meaning using the most concise words: even though your realm is higher than mine, I have the experience, so you cannot win.
"I’ll teach you a phrase as well," Shen Yun said, shaking his head. "Skill is completely useless in the face of absolute power."
The instant his voice fell, the pellet in his hand mingled with lightning and shot forward, transforming into a laser beam that was difficult for the naked eye to discern.
Alberta’s pupils shrank abruptly! Before he even had time to react, the greatsword in his hands suffered a heavy blow. The ground beneath his feet cracked apart as he was forced back dozens of steps. The webbing between his thumb and forefinger split open, and the greatsword continuously emitted a vibrating wail.
He wondered how this was even possible. His eyes were filled with horror. He wasn’t horrified by the speed of the attack, but rather by the fact that he hadn’t seen the slightest hint of attacking intent on this person’s expression just now! The advantage in experience he spoke of wasn’t just empty talk. A person who had experienced hundreds of battles possessed a powerful mastery over combat. They would absolutely never overlook the enemy’s attacking intent!
"The next strike won’t be aimed at your sword," Shen Yun said, his gaze sweeping over his opponent’s body.
This kind of Electromagnetic Cannon was a weakened version of the one used against the Azure Emperor previously. Neither its speed nor its power was as great, but it won in terms of swiftness. To Xiaojiu, it was merely a matter of constructing a model.
Alberta already had cold sweat on his forehead. He stared dead at Shen Yun’s eyes, his focus pushed to the absolute limit. His experience could not possibly lose to a guy like this!
And the opponent’s next strike...
It was aimed at his leg!
Alberta quickly placed his greatsword horizontally at his leg. However, in the very next instant, a laser viciously struck his shoulder. The immense force sent him flying and spinning a full thousand and eighty degrees before he smashed heavily into the ground with a muffled THUD.
PFFT.
Spitting out the blood in his mouth, Alberta struggled to get up. There was no need to look; his left shoulder was already incapable of combat. But what he found unacceptable was the reasoning behind it.
"Why?" he asked.
He believed in his own judgment. The intent of this person at the moment he attacked was clearly to strike his right leg.
Even Vierlia, who was standing to the side, had a slightly astonished expression. As a Paladin who had long since reached the Saint Realm, Alberta’s combat experience was indeed phenomenal. He was even famous across the continent for it, always holding the respectful title of Combat Master. Yet now, he was making one misjudgment after another.
"It’s just a very simple misdirection technique," Shen Yun said, having also understood a bit. Without blushing or skipping a heartbeat, he instead revealed a faint trace of mockery. "Would you let an opponent see your attacking intent?"
"...I take back what I said earlier," Alberta said, taking a deep breath to suppress the roiling blood and qi within his body. "You are very strong, but I will not lose!"
The moment his voice fell, gripping the greatsword in his right hand, his entire body rushed fiercely toward Shen Yun with bizarre footwork. The distance of dozens of meters was crossed in a mere instant. He wanted close-quarters combat!
BOOM.
Another Electromagnetic Cannon blasted out, hitting his body dead center and viciously sending him flying outward. Even a body tempered through a thousand trials found it difficult to resist such tremendous force.
Alberta’s expression had already turned somewhat crazed. After climbing up from the ground, he didn’t say a word, and his speed increased once more. He seemed to be leaping left, right, forward, and backward, even producing a series of afterimages. He was no longer paying attention to Shen Yun’s intent. Instead, he was focusing on positioning! Frantic positioning! Just like that, he inched closer and closer to Shen Yun!
"I don’t believe you can still hit me!"
Even his voice came from all directions, repeating back and forth in the reverberating air. His speed shattered large patches of floor tiles, sending stones splashing up and dust scattering. As long as he could get close, Alberta had complete confidence in the dominating power of his combat skills.
Shen Yun’s gaze swept across the afterimages that had blurred into a single mass before him.
"Master, there is absolutely no problem," Xiaojiu said with equal confidence.
Only then did Shen Yun let out a sigh of relief.
"I thought you were actually formidable, but it’s all just flashy and useless tricks." He surprisingly just closed his eyes. There was no helping it; this person was moving around so much that it made his eyes hurt.
Alberta felt a trace of hesitation. He wondered if this was a trap or merely a bluff.
