Duan Rong walked in. A few people, seeing his unfamiliar face, questioned what he was doing there. Duan Rong pointed to the southeast corner of the training camp grounds and said he was there to see Tutor Yao Che.

Noticing that he knew Yao Che’s name and was pointing to the right location, which was indeed Yao Che’s residence, they assumed he was an acquaintance and didn’t bother him further.

Duan Rong stood before a certain wooden hut in the southeast corner, hesitating as he looked at its simple structure.

He remembered that Yao Che lived around this area but wasn’t sure which hut exactly.

Just then, someone came out of the hut, shirtless, carrying a wooden basin. He tossed a basin of dirty water outside.

Duan Rong’s eyes lit up immediately, and he called out, “Tutor Yao!”

Yao Che was slightly taken aback and turned his head. He saw a well-built young man approaching him.

“Duan Rong?”

Duan Rong smiled and said, “Tutor Yao still remembers me!”

Though half a year had passed, the fact that Duan Rong had defeated a family of baboons soon after entering the Tower Forest left a deep impression on Yao Che.

Moreover, he had heard that later, Duan Rong entered Yunfu Peak and became Zhu He’s direct disciple.

“Come in and sit.” Yao Che chuckled lightly and went inside.

Duan Rong promptly followed.

Yao Che set down the empty wooden basin, changed into a shirt, and pointed at a wooden stump chair for Duan Rong to sit.

Duan Rong sat down.

Yao Che fastened his shirt, looked at Duan Rong, and asked, “So? What brings you back to Tower Forest?”

Duan Rong replied, “Tutor Yao, I wanted to inquire about someone in the Tower Forest.”

Yao Che asked, “Someone? Who?”

“Xiao Yu!”

After about half a stick of incense’s time, Duan Rong walked out of Yao Che’s wooden hut, his mood low.

As he somewhat expected, half a year had passed, and Xiao Yu hadn’t broken through the True Qi Realm Third Level. Yao Che had said inside that, based on his years of tutoring experience, Xiao Yu’s chance of achieving Great Perfection and leaving the Tower Forest was slim.

Duan Rong walked with his head down, sighing, nearly bumping into someone.

Duan Rong glanced behind Liu Shushan and saw the tent he used to live in. He realized that he had unwittingly walked to this spot and happened to run into Liu Shushan.

Liu Shushan eyed Duan Rong and asked, “Brother Duan, you seemed gloomy just now. Why the worry?”

Duan Rong didn’t answer but grabbed Liu Shushan and said, “Come, I’ll take you for some wine. We’ll chat while eating and drinking.”

They hadn’t seen each other for over half a year, and meeting old friends now how could they not be enthusiastic?

“Wine?!” At the mention of wine, Liu Shushan’s eyes lit up. It had been over half a year since he last tasted any.

However, cautious by nature, he hesitated, saying, “The Tutor told me to wait in the tent. Can I really leave?”

Duan Rong, having experienced this, replied, “It’s not a problem. Just be at the annex beneath Cuiwei Peak on the day of the Taiyi Pavilion worship.”

“Really?” Liu Shushan’s tone was still somewhat doubtful.

Duan Rong, eyes flickering, said, “How about this? Let’s inform Tutor Yao, and then we can go out without any issues.”

Liu Shushan smiled easily and said, “That would be best indeed.”

“Then let’s go!”

Duan Rong immediately dragged Liu Shushan towards Yao Che’s wooden hut.
