I Can Devour Monsters' SSS Talents
Chapter 483: The Divine Of Chaos
[Treasure Detected.]
The purple light between the pages of the Celestial Book of Treasure pulsed several times in a row.
Lian took his eyes off the book and looked again at what could be seen behind the thick layers of fog.
Broken towers, huge walls, and the shadow of a fortress that stood higher than all the buildings around it, several kilometers away.
But what caught his attention the most was the structure on top of the highest tower of the central fortress.
A crown.
Even from this distance, it was far too large to be considered a normal decoration.
He held the book in front of the map that he had completed with the World Memory.
A strand came out of the page.
At first, it moved along the lines of the Wolfgrave Frontier, then passed through several old structures and finally stopped directly on the central fortress.
The light moved up the tower and locked onto the same crown.
[Main Treasure Detected.]
[Location: Central Area of the Wolfgrave Fortresses.]
Lian looked at the notification without moving for a few seconds, so the treasure was not inside a hidden chest in some underground room.
The crown itself was the treasure and this treasure was completely in the open.
"It’s getting more interesting." He quietly muttered, the fact that something the Celestial Book of Treasure valued so much was this visible was not normal.
Such treasures were usually hidden or protected, and of course, this one also seemed to be protected.
Now he had to see what this treasure was.
One was standing beside him and its antennae were slowly moving in the foggy air.
He closed the book, but before he could put it inside his storage space, another notification appeared.
[Hidden Area Discovered.]
[Wolfgrave Fortresses.]
Lian raised an eyebrow, he already knew about the Wolfgrave Frontier.
That name was used for the entire large area that was made of dead forests, abandoned plains, old roads, ruined villages and the territory of several wolf packs. ℯℯ𝑙.
The humans of Base #9 also had a lot of information about its outer parts and it was one of the relatively famous hunting areas, although its inner layers were still known for their great danger and lack of information.
But the outer layers were the opposite and that was actually his first target as well.
But it seemed fate had another plan for him and now he had found a Hidden Area, this was also the second Hidden Area he had ever managed to find.
And this place seemed different.
This place was considered a separate area inside the Wolfgrave Frontier, a huge group of fortresses, watchtowers, old walls and military roads that had once been connected to each other.
Something like a special area hidden inside a larger area.
And apparently, no Awakened had officially discovered it until now, and the System confirmed this as well.
[First Discovery Registered.]
[You are the first Awakened to discover the Wolfgrave Fortresses as a Hidden Area.]
[First Discovery Reward is being calculated.]
A few seconds later, a faint blue light appeared around Lian’s body.
[You gained one Level.]
[Level: 23 → 24.]
[20 Fragments received.]
[Hidden Condition completed.]
[The title "Explorer of the Lost City" has met the conditions for Evolution.]
[Would you like to Evolve the title?]
At the bottom of the panel, another section appeared in a different color.
[Warning.]
[Title Evolution cannot be reversed.]
[The current effects of the title may be strengthened, removed or changed.]
[There is no guarantee that all abilities of the title will become better after Evolution.]
The young Vorhelm narrowed his eyes slightly.
For skills, there were many ways to replace them or even fuse them.
But titles were different.
A title was usually created by doing something special or reaching a special condition and it was not easy to find another one of the same type.
In addition, evolving them was also very rare and the requirements were very difficult and rare, not to mention that these requirements were also completely unknown.
However, the Explorer of the Lost City title had been related to discovery and exploration from the beginning, he had obtained it after discovering that Frost City together with Seris.
He thought for a few more seconds.
"Accept." He then said.
The light of the panel became stronger for a moment.
[Title Evolution has started.]
[The title "Explorer of the Lost City" has been removed.]
[New title created.]
[Pioneer of Forgotten Domains.]
[Main Effect: When discovering or entering Hidden Areas, the title can create Regional Traits based on the history, structure, creatures and laws of that area.]
[The number and power of the traits are not fixed.]
[Area Traits will become inactive after leaving the area.]
Lian raised an eyebrow slightly, if he understood correctly, every Hidden Area he found in the future could create a different effect on the title.
Almost immediately, the panel changed again.
[Wolfgrave Fortresses are being analyzed...]
[Area Trait created.]
[The title Wolf Slayer will have 300% efficiency in Wolfgrave Fortresses.]
[Fragment reward from killing wolf-based creatures ×3.]
The young Vorhelm smiled, this was a very good surprise.
The five wolves he had killed earlier had each given him two Fragments and now that amount would become six in this area, meaning he could get a total of 30 Fragments from killing five wolves instead of 10 Fragments.
Considering how many Fragments he needed, this was a very useful title.
One slightly turned its head toward him.
There was still one more thing he had to do before entering the main area.
After the battle several hours ago, the amount of free stats points he had suddenly become very high.
He opened his status panel.
[Name: Lian Vorhelm.]
[Race: Human.]
[Level: 24.]
[Strength: 1300.]
[Spirit: 600.]
[Speed: 500.]
[Mana: 1225.]
[Resistance: 725.]
[Free Stats Points: 1079.]
His eyes stayed mostly on Speed.
Five hundred.
For a long time, his Strength and Mana had become much higher than some of his other stats, but before this, the problem had not been so clear.
However, the battle with the Unborn Saint had clearly shown that if he could not react fast enough, having great power was not always useful.
Several times, only because of the difference in speed, he had been forced to use Thunder Step or Ash Step to save his life.
Spirit was also directly important for controlling skills like Frost Dominion and True Sequence.
Resistance too...
Lian remembered his own broken ribs, the Ancient Rank armor had helped a lot in this area but he should not forget that even that armor had a direct connection with his own Resistance.
Against opponents with much higher Levels, higher Resistance was also important.
He made his choices.
[Strength: 1300 → 1500.]
[Spirit: 600 → 800.]
[Speed: 500 → 800.]
[Mana: 1225 → 1400.]
[Resistance: 725 → 900.]
[1050 Stats Points consumed.]
[Free Stats Points remaining: 29.]
[Total Base Stats: 5400.]
A familiar warmth spread through his entire body.
His muscles tightened for a few seconds and then relaxed again.
His bones and joints felt heavier, while the flow of Mana inside his body clearly moved more smoothly than a few moments ago.
But the biggest difference was Speed.
Lian took only one step, his body moved forward more than he expected.
He stopped for a moment and then moved again.
He had no problem controlling it, the System somehow allowed his body to quickly adapt to the increase in stats but the difference was still very clear.
One turned its large head toward him, as if wondering what exactly its master was doing and why they had stopped for so long.
"It’s nothing, we can move." Lian looked at it.
And they moved again.
The farther they went along Wolfcrown Road, the more signs of the old civilization appeared.
Stone pillars came out of the fog and broken towers could be seen among the trees.
Walls that had probably once been part of huge fortifications were now buried under dry roots and black moss.
But there was something familiar about the architecture to Lian, not because he had been here before.
But because he had read about it, spirals without a beginning or an end and buildings that were intentionally not built symmetrically.
Plazas with eight pillars and bridges that had eight sections and patterns that repeated the image of an eye or a hand many times in groups of eight.
A few minutes later, they passed through a large gate.
On the left side of the gate, the remains of a tall statue still existed, the statue was almost completely intact from the waist down.
The upper part of the body had suffered heavy damage, but the eight hands could still be recognized and several broken eyes also remained on the face.
Divine of Chaos.
Lian stopped for a moment, this was the second time he had personally reached areas clearly connected to one of the Seven Divines.
The first one was the Divine of Light.
The same ruin where Kain had been trapped and which later seemed to have even affected his Evolution path.
But the Divine of Chaos was not only connected to this Ruined Realm.
According to the information he had read from the reports of previous Ruined Realms, symbols and temples related to it had been seen in several different Ruined Realms.
This was one of the biggest questions for the researchers of Earth.
Were the Seven Divines really beings that were worshiped in several separate worlds?
Or had there once been a civilization that had spread their religion across different realms?
