I Can Devour Monsters' SSS Talents

Chapter 465: Calamity Seed I

Lian kept his eyes on the man’s back, one of the safest places in the country, with hundreds of arrays, commanders, and suppression systems, had all become meaningless ...at least against that bell.

"Can that bell also move between worlds?" He thought about what he had seen a few moments ago.

The white-eyed man suddenly stopped and turned around, then gave him a big smile.

"Ah! You want to know how I entered your world, huh?" He hit his own chest with his other hand.

"The answer is that bell."

He narrowed his eyes slightly, so one of Gareth’s three questions had been answered very quickly.

The white-eyed man had not entered their world through the cracks, he had a tool that seemed to be able to move between worlds.

But this answer created another question.

What was that bell?

Even the System had not shown any information at that moment.

But the fact that the System had shown nothing was not the main problem, the main problem was what kind of artifact had the ability to travel between worlds.

And how did it even work?

Whatever it was, he felt that getting that bell might not be a bad thing, that artifact had really caught his attention.

Lian did not ask anything for now and the man started walking again.

At first, the entrance of the cave looked completely natural, ice walls, dark rocks, and icicles hanging from the ceiling.

But only a few dozen meters ahead, everything changed, thin lines could be seen inside the ice.

Several semi-transparent tubes passed through the walls and a green liquid slowly flowed inside them.

Blue mushrooms had grown in the corners of the path, giving off a weak light.

A little farther ahead, there was a weak smell of blood, mixed with unknown materials and large glass containers were placed beside the walls, with unclear organs floating inside colored liquids.

Lian looked at one of them, it looked like an eye, but it had three pupils, so he immediately looked away.

The farther they went, the less the cave looked like a cave and the more it looked like the inside of a huge creature.

Finally, the path opened and a huge space appeared in front of them.

He stopped, there was a laboratory in front of them, but it looked nothing like the laboratories on Earth.

Some parts of the equipment were made of metal and other parts looked almost alive, tubes like veins moved along the walls.

Unknown organs were floating inside containers.

Cutting tools were placed beside tables whose surfaces were covered with old blood marks.

But Lian’s eyes stayed on them for only a few seconds because something in the center of the cave caught all of his attention.

A huge egg, almost ten meters tall, with a transparent shell.

A dark liquid slowly moved inside it and hundreds of thick veins connected from the walls of the container to whatever was inside.

It was a creature, its body was still incomplete, its hands were crossed over its chest and very thick bones could be seen under the half-formed flesh.

Parts of its body were covered with black natural armor, its head still did not have its final shape.

But he immediately saw the similarity, it was the same creature from the border city, or at least something made through the same process, but this one was different.

More organized and even in its incomplete state, it looked much more dangerous, even though they looked similar, they were also different.

It was clear that this was not the same creature, but he was certain that parts of that creature had been used to make this one.

"So this is the real version?" Lian stayed silent for a few seconds and then asked.

Was this what this man had really been working on? Was this his goal all this time?

"Yes and no." The white-eyed man stood beside the container.

The young Vorhelm looked away from the creature and looked at him, and the man placed his palm against the transparent shell.

"I told you I came back to take my masterpiece back, right?"

He smiled.

"What you saw in the city was not the final masterpiece itself. It was a part, a container, and a stage." He tapped the shell a few times with his fingernail.

Tap.

Tap.

"I only wanted some parts of it." His eyes moved lovingly over the creature inside the container.

"The good parts."

"I am sure that when the Federation took that creature, it was complete, how did you get these parts?"

"Curious people see many things, but because they think they see everything... they fail to see exactly the important things."

Lian said nothing, a few hours ago he might have thought this claim was an exaggeration.

But this same man had escaped from one of the safest prisons in the country a few minutes ago without activating even a single alarm.

Stealing a few parts from a body that was being studied no longer seemed that strange.

So this man had been playing with the Federation all this time, he had even managed to play with an Overlord, this was no longer just madness.

It was a crazy kind of genius, something that truly deserved admiration, no matter how crazy he was, he had still done something that Lian had never thought he would have the courage to do.

The white-eyed man took his hand away from the shell and took two steps back.

"You asked what a Calamity Seed is, right?"

This time Lian gave him his full attention, this was something he wanted to understand, he could make some guesses.

The man stayed silent for a few seconds and a small change appeared on his face, the calm smile slowly disappeared and something like seriousness could be seen in his expression.

"If you know about the Five Calamities...then you should know what a Calamity means."

He started walking around the container.

"Things that eat worlds, crush civilizations, erase generations, and when nothing is left, they move on to the next world."

He stopped for a moment.

"My world saw one of them too, but there is something you don’t know." The corner of his mouth rose slightly.

"There were not five of them from the beginning."

The silence of the cave became heavier.

"There were six positions."

The young Vorhelm’s eyes narrowed for a moment, he did not show much on the outside, but he was shocked in his mind.

Six Calamities? He had only seen five Calamities in the memories of the Black Silence, and everywhere else he had heard about them, he had always heard the number five.

But six? He had never seen anything that confirmed this number, but the man in front of him was saying that there had been six Calamities at the beginning.

What was the truth now?

"One of them was destroyed a very, very, very long time ago." The white-eyed man continued and his eyes moved away for a moment.

"But it was killed."

"How?" Lian asked immediately, even he himself had not been able to kill a Calamity alone and had swallowed it with the help of the Heart of Ruin.

So how had someone managed to kill another Calamity?

"I don’t know!" The man almost shouted and then moved his hands angrily.

"Nobody knows! The story is so old that even my people only had pieces of it. Some said something from outside the world killed it, some said the other Calamities ate it, some said the world itself turned against it."

Suddenly all the anger disappeared from his face and he shrugged.

"It doesn’t matter."

The young Vorhelm gave him a short look, it was very clear from his tone that it actually mattered a lot, but the man did not want to stop at something he did not know the answer to.

"After it died, the position stayed empty, and then...interesting things started happening." The man went back beside the container.

His smile returned.

"Sometimes, in different worlds, creatures were born that were not like the others. They grew, they changed, they broke their own limits, and changed again."

He raised his index finger.

"They are Seeds.....Calamity Seeds."
