I Can Devour Monsters' SSS Talents
Chapter 463: The Greatest Monster Maker II
"The White-Eyed Man’s cell." Gareth said in a low voice.
Click.
The last lock was released.
The huge black door first moved a few centimeters backward, the sound of heavy mechanisms moving inside the wall filled the area, and a moment later, the entire several-ton door slowly moved to the left.
Lian expected the cell to be directly behind it, but what appeared in front of him was another small room.
The walls of the observation room were almost completely black, and only a few white mana lines ran across the ceiling and floor, in front of them, several layers of glass covered the entire wall; dozens of small arrays were shining between its layers.
The White-Eyed Man’s cell was behind it, and the room was almost empty.
There was a metal table, two chairs, four gray walls, and there was no bed, no extra object, and not even something that could be broken and used as a weapon.
The White-Eyed Man was sitting on the chair on the other side of the table.
His wrists were locked with black mana suppression rings, two more rings were around his ankles, and a thicker ring was around his neck.
Short chains connected each of them to the chair and the floor.
Even so, his appearance did not look like a prisoner at all, he was leaning against the back of the chair, his shoulders were relaxed and his head was slightly lowered; as if he was not sitting in one of the safest prisons in the country, but sitting in his own home waiting for a guest who was late.
Gareth had only taken one step into the observation room when the man moved, his head rose, before the inner door of the cell had even opened.
His completely white eyes locked directly onto Vorhelm through the several layers of glass.
Only him.
He stayed silent for a few seconds and then a calm smile appeared on his face.
"You finally came." He said in an almost happy tone.
"I heard you missed me." Lian looked at him for a few seconds without changing his expression.
The man’s lips opened and a short, strange laugh came from his throat.
"Missed you? No, no..." The White-Eyed Man seriously shook his head, as if he was truly correcting an important mistake.
"That’s not a good word. I was curious. Very curious."
He slowly tilted his head to one side and his eyes moved across Lian’s body.
"I wanted to see how much my little piece has grown."
The inner door opened with Gareth’s approval, and the pressure from the mana suppression arrays inside the cell immediately became several times stronger.
As Lian crossed the entrance, he felt the mana inside his body become like a thick and useless liquid.
The commander also entered with him, and the White-Eyed Man did not take his eyes off Vorhelm.
"I said I wanted to talk to the boy." He said this time in a bored tone.
"And I’m staying here." Gareth stood beside the table.
The White-Eyed Man turned his white eyes toward him, looked at him for two seconds, and then simply shrugged.
"Okay." And he became silent.
Gareth waited.
Five seconds.
Ten seconds.
Fifteen seconds.
The White-Eyed Man only smiled at him, not a single word, not even an extra movement, he was completely silent.
The commander narrowed his eyes and understood what he was trying to do.
"Don’t think you can make demands from us in your current situation."
The White-Eyed Man slightly pursed his lips.
"I didn’t make a demand, I said I wanted to talk to him. You stayed, so I don’t talk." He slightly tilted his head.
"See? It’s very simple, even children can understand it."
A thin vein appeared beside Gareth’s temple, Lian felt that if this continued for a few more minutes, the interrogation would probably end before it even started.
He turned his eyes toward the commander.
"Let me try. Everything is being recorded, right?"
Gareth looked at him for a few seconds, it was clear that he did not like this decision, but in the end he nodded.
"Image, sound, mana changes, and every movement inside the room are recorded. The arrays are also active, and if anything happens, the forces outside will enter in less than one second."
Then he fixed his eyes on the White-Eyed Man.
"And I’ll also be right behind this glass."
"How reassuring." The madman said with a smile.
The commander ignored him and looked at Lian again before leaving.
"If he makes even the smallest move, you don’t need to play the hero."
The young Vorhelm nodded, and he left the cell, closing the door behind him.
Click.
The locks became active again, and now only two people remained inside the room.
Lian pulled back the chair across from the man and sat down, neither of them said anything for a few seconds, the quiet sound of the room’s air system was the only thing breaking the silence.
The White-Eyed Man was looking at him, but not like someone looking at another person’s face.
First, he examined his fingers, then his forearms, shoulders, chest, neck, and finally his eyes.
That look was less human than it was like the look of a surgeon seeing his favorite test subject again after several months.
And the young Vorhelm allowed it to continue for a few seconds before speaking calmly.
"If you’re only going to look at me, you could have asked for a picture."
"Pictures don’t breathe." The man answered without even thinking.
"Why did you want to see me?"
"I told you, I missed my remaining piece."
Lian said nothing, he only looked at him.
Three seconds.
Five seconds.
Eight seconds.
The man’s smile slowly disappeared. Then he moved his head back with childish annoyance.
"Ugh...you’re so boring, you don’t even play a little." He complained under his breath.
In the next moment, that annoyance disappeared from his face, as if it had never existed, and his bound fingers began tapping on the table.
Click.
Click.
Click.
"I only came back to take my masterpiece back, they took it. They cut it into pieces, cut it, measured it, looked at it, opened it up..."
His face became slightly angry for a moment.
"You’re very nosy."
Lian thought about the border city, that strange monster the White-Eyed Man proudly called his masterpiece.
And the conversation they had that same day, the man had asked him for something, his body, he had asked him to become part of the monster.
Had this madman brought him here again because of something like that?
"But you’re still missing one piece, let me guess." He finally said calmly.
The tapping of his fingers stopped and the man’s white eyes shone slightly.
And the young Vorhelm looked directly at him.
"You want me."
The White-Eyed Man suddenly leaned forward and the chains around his hands made a clicking sound.
"Smart!"
And he immediately started laughing.
"You’re really smart! That’s why I like you." He suddenly frowned.
"No, no...like is not a good word."
He thought deeply for a few moments.
"Am I happy to see you? No." He tilted his head again and then a big smile appeared on his face.
"I want you....Yeah. That’s better." His white eyes examined Lian’s body again.
Lian raised an eyebrow, he felt like he was talking to a pervert, and the man continued without caring.
"My offer is still there. You can become stronger, very, very much stronger. Even the strongest. I can make things from you that you don’t even know are possible yet."
He suddenly became silent and his smile disappeared, then his eyes became truly focused.
"Wait...you became stronger...no, much stronger, this growth is not like the others, and why...why! Why! Why do you smell like them?" His eyes opened wider and his body moved forward as far as the chains allowed.
"How? What happened? What did you do? What did you eat? Who did you kill? Did something change inside your body? Who opened you? Why do you smell like those bastards?"
"Did you come into contact with them? ...No! That’s impossible, we can’t see them."
The questions came out one after another, and his voice became more excited with every question.
"Enough nonsense." Lian frowned, he did not even understand what this madman was talking about.
Who exactly did he mean by that smell?
"I’m not going to become part of any of your strange creatures, let alone your masterpiece." He then added.
The man remained completely still for a few seconds, then a short sound came from his throat.
"Heh..."
"Hehehe..."
His laughter became louder, his head dropped and his shoulders started shaking.
"Oh...sorry." He said between his laughs and raised his head again....this time the laughter suddenly stopped.
"You think you still have a choice?"
The young Vorhelm remained silent, and the man also became completely calm for a moment.
"No, you don’t have a choice."
"To create my greatest masterpiece...to create a Calamity Seed...I need you."
