Chapter 482: Chapter 297: Mechanical Talent: Electromagnetic Induction
Yu Fei was quite satisfied with this outfit, custom-made by a Martial Saint. Not only was it practical, but its appearance was also magnificent. A golden Vermilion Bird was embroidered on the scarlet greatcoat.
The combat boots and gloves also had ornate golden patterns.
"Senior Sister, does this awesome armor have a name?"
Zhuo Feiming fastened the row of Profound Crystal Stone buttons on the greatcoat, eyed her work for a moment, and clapped her hands in satisfaction.
"A name? Then let’s call it the Red Lotus Battle Armor!"
She was nominally Yu Fei’s senior sister, but her true age was greater than his grandmother’s. However, relative to the long lifespan of a Martial Saint, she hadn’t even lived through a third of her years, and her mentality was still that of a youth.
She had poured her heart into making this piece of armor, but she hadn’t planned on giving it a special name.
With all preparations complete, Yu Fei took out a white mask, put it on, and set off following the map’s directions. As he left, deafening cheers erupted from the temporary base behind him.
Zhuo Feiming had used the ingredients Yu Fei provided to throw a team-building party, and the group was ecstatic to see a grand feast that looked, smelled, and tasted wonderful.
They had been in the Sky Palace Ruins for nearly three months, their taste buds thoroughly tormented from eating energy bars that tasted like pig slop every day.
His spatial ability was incredibly valuable, providing him immense convenience through combat enhancements, powerful resupply capabilities, and a reliable means of escape.
This also made Yu Fei realize he had far too few supplies stored in his personal dimension. With a diameter of thirty kilometers, the space was larger than a giant city, yet most of it was utterly empty.
’Looks like it’s time to head back to the Golden Stone Gang Realm for another round of mining. I need to stock up on more resources, at least so my storage dimension doesn’t feel so vacant. If I ever get trapped where my teleportation fails, I’ll be able to hold out much longer.’
According to the map, more than half of the Sky Palace Ruins had already been cleared. Every Shenxiao Corps sortie was led by a Grandmaster. They always operated by concentrating superior forces and would never engage without the power to utterly crush their opposition.
The Tier 9 mechanical bodies within had long since been dealt with by Tianwen’s Martial Saints. Such precious resources were never going to be left for the Shenxiao Corps.
The map also contained a great deal of intelligence on the Exiled Machines. These mutated mechanical bodies were considerably weaker, with some having even lost their primary combat functions. Of course, a small minority had actually grown stronger.
Yu Fei exited the City of the End, still clad in his Energy Battle Armor. In this border zone, he valued its integrated radar scanning capabilities above all else.
He then headed toward an area labeled Y-34.
When he arrived, he found himself in a huge, labyrinthine city of junk.
His faceplate’s radar immediately lit up with densely packed markers for the Exiled Machines. Yu Fei took a quick look; there were over a thousand of them.
They were hidden in nearly every junk pile. He couldn’t figure out why, but according to his radar, the highest-level units were just two Tier 7s; the rest were Tier 6 and Tier 5.
Meanwhile, in his Reversing Destiny Vision, of all these Exiled Machines, an almost negligible number—less than 1%—possessed talent gems. Since the replication timer for his ability hadn’t reset, the few blue and green glimmers below held no interest for him. So, he decisively summoned Zhanming, intending to finally try the sword strike he had been holding back.
An endless, immeasurable torrent of Sword Qi poured into Zhanming, manifesting a terrifying aura of pure Sharpness that abruptly reached a critical limit.
Yu Fei felt the sword in his hand become as heavy as a mountain. He then brought Zhanming down in a heavy swing, and the labyrinthine city forged from metal junk dissipated like melting snow. Countless electronic components disintegrated, turning to dust and vanishing.
A sword gash several kilometers long was deeply etched into the scorched earth. The Tier 7 machine that had registered at the far end of the gash was gone without a trace, completely annihilated by the terrifying Sword Qi.
With that one strike, over thirty percent of the Exiled Machines were gone. The rest swarmed like a disturbed hornet’s nest. Spider-like machines of all sizes, tanks that had sprouted legs, and a type of flying spherical machine with energy guns welded to its surface all began firing at him.
Humans had never unlocked the technology for energy guns. These spherical machines would explode upon being destroyed—a self-destruct sequence that not even a Martial Saint could stop.
The Exiled Machines were bizarre and varied in their construction. They all had numerous parts that were not their own, forcibly attached in a hodgepodge fashion. This was also the reason their combat effectiveness was diminished.
Yu Fei flitted through them like a phantom. Zhanming’s blade appeared and disappeared unpredictably anywhere within a hundred-meter radius of him. At this point, traditional sword forms were rendered meaningless.
With the aid of his spatial ability, Zhanming’s blade could strike any target within that hundred-meter radius, from any angle.
Whether in cutting power or sheer force, these Exiled Machines were no match; they couldn’t withstand a single blow.
In less than ten minutes, the area was clear.
He didn’t touch the items the Exiled Machines left behind. Zhuo Feiming would arrange for a team to collect them.
Yu Fei checked off the location on his map and moved on to the next.
If this task had been left to the Shenxiao Army, it would have taken at least ten Grandmasters leading a hundred Gang Qi Martial Artists the better part of a day to clear this area.
They wouldn’t dare face so many Exiled Machines at once; to avoid damaging their armor, they’d have to drag the process out for half the day.
Five days passed in a blur. Yu Fei had already cleared twenty percent of the zones on the map, encountering all sorts of strange Exiled Machines along the way.
At noon on the sixth day, he arrived at a small cluster of Exiled Machines. It was then that an orange glow in his vision caught his attention.
The highest energy signature here was only Tier 6, and there were fewer than ten machines of various models. Yu Fei quickly dispatched them all, leaving only the source of the special orange glow, hidden deep within a pile of dilapidated electronic junk.
