I Can Copy And Evolve Talents
Chapter 1432: Cute And Funny
Northern did not move but a slight frown pulled his brows.
"Lord Northern, are you okay?"
"Lord Northern."
Amid the darkness that suddenly enveloped his sight, he could hear the voices of the two Dukes calling out to him with panicked voices.
However, he didn’t respond. Identifying his sudden threat was more important. Northern first thought that the Divinity of the sword had affected him, perhaps he had seen something he ought not to have seen.
However, he figured he was wrong barely a second after that thought.
[External Source discovered]
[Tracing Source...]
Someone, somewhere had willed him to go blind.
’That has to be one hell of a Will.’
Even though he wasn’t a full-blown Origin because he still had to properly go through the progression of ranks to become a Zenith, for the sake of his body. He more or less had the soul of one.
So to still be able to affect him with their will, this source, whoever they were, had to be indisputably strong.
Northern focused on the link of the source, while Aoi was looking for the source, he was searching to sever the link.
This was of course possible because of his eyes. Shingan was far more powerful that it would be a mountainous task to blind it, one that Northern would have noticed that someone was trying to mess with his eyes even if he was the most careless person in the world.
And even though he was careless, Aoi was not.
Which meant this person was an incredibly cunning existence.
’Ah, found it.’
Flow Perception could still perceive flow, but it was difficult to pull off than before and required more delicateness. In fact, this difficult task had earned Northern a deeper intuition towards that section of his Demonic Eyes and in return.
[Congratulations]
[Mastery of the Second Layer of Shingan has increased considerably]
[Flow Perception has leveled up]
’I’m surprised you have the time to update me on that... you’re lagging behind, I just might find the source on your behalf.’
[...]
Aoi said nothing, instead the weight of its silence seemed enough to be a silence.
Then...
[Source found]
[Radiant rank Drifter, tracing True Name...]
’Good, good, rat him out, let me steal his true name.’
[Blocked]
At the same time, Northern was just opening his eyes. He frowned in displeasure.
’Aoi? Can I see his Soul?’
[Peering Talent and Soul Information...]
[Blocked]
The frown on Northern’s face, now darkened.
If the person could shield their soul from his gaze, then truly he had to be wary. Aside from the fact that he wouldn’t be able to steal their talent.
Ranks did not stop him from seeing someone’s talent, which meant that just like Koll at a time, the person was actively doing something.
’This is irritating...’
Northern looked utterly disgusted.
General Sethran asked with a careful tone.
"Is there something that displeases you about the sword Lord Northern?"
Northern focused on what was in front of him. He was still holding the sword, and Duke Sethran and Amene were still standing before him, studying him with concern on their faces.
They were completely oblivious to the attack just now.
’Aoi... let’s go to him.’
[...]
[There will be no need for that...]
Northern tilted his head at the words that Aoi had spoken.
It happened barely a fraction of a second.
And he failed to register it.
A terrifying force slammed down on the tower, not just the tower, the entire area on the side of the mountain flattened in an instant as if an invisible monster had crashed its gargantuan foot on the ground and pulverized everything that existed in that area with just a step.
A vicious and devastating shockwave of dust rolled out of the area, assaulting the trees. Savages and Bestial rank monsters were shredded apart by the shockwave and weaker trunks of trees were bent awkwardly by it.
Nothing escaped the vicious maw of the shockwave and everything that was hit by it, was either terribly mangled or instantly torn apart.
What was left of the metallic tower could barely be called rubble. Something that stood so impregnable was flattened to the ground such that the parts that held it together were grounded to metallic rust and dispersed like dust.
It was very unnatural.
Northern pushed one hand out and a vast shockwave spread from the center. This one more friendly, clearing the fog of dust out of the way on their behalf.
In the center of the forest with a large, circular wasteland. Everything that was green and brown, everything that was structured and crafted in this place, simply was white sand and dust and a fog of smoke.
Northern’s white hair was covered in white dust too, along with his face.
Standing behind him both protected by two of his clones that had immediately appeared and bore the entire crash with their bodies.
As for the rest of the survivors, the servants, the soldiers that found a home here, the nobles that were freely eating in the restaurant, people at the museum, all of them... not even a bone of their body could be found anywhere.
General Sethran stared wide with trembling eyes. He staggered around and tried to look for survivors but he knew already that there was no one. He couldn’t sense the soul of any human within five hundred meters. Everything that stood proudly in his estate was as if they never existed.
As if someone wrote them off.
Northern watched the General, devastated by the immense loss. Although he couldn’t react so deeply, he was utterly disgusted by what just transpired.
He raised his head.
And there he was.
Slowly descending from the embrace of the sky.
He wore ragged clothes, and looked more like a beggar than anything, his wavy white hair was flowing backward, dancing in the winds.
A small smile was carved on his face and his red eyes brimmed with barely suppressed madness.
As his bare feet touched the ground, he said with a humorous voice.
"You know it is cute and funny, until it stops getting cute and funny..."
All humor drained from his voice.
"Little brother, this time you’ve gone too far."
