Chapter 1102: Frenemies [part 2]

Chapter 1102: Frenemies [part 2]

Northern’s blue eyes sharpened, the rings within them gleaming dangerously.

“You can try, mob…”

Both stared at each other—the Chaos Prince with a cold, gleaming smile, Northern with dangerous, lethal intent.

Invisible sparks crackled between them for a moment. Then the Chaos Prince suddenly laughed, stepping back.

“Oh Northern! So impatient… Why would I ever want to kill my new friend? Besides, I don’t need your body that badly. I just like your looks.”

The Chaos Prince closed his eyes immediately, focusing inward.

Northern narrowed his eyes as he noticed the air around him shifting.

Chaos Prince was transforming, his body radiating dangerous black sparks. His skin changed as the green color faded and the markings covering his body vanished.

His short hair elongated and cascaded to the middle of his back, gaining a black hue with maroon roots and edges.

His face transformed. Northern watched his height increase as well.

In an instant, the Chaos Prince became utterly different—sharp, slanted eyes like those of a handsome, masculine eagle. Three strands of hair fell across his face while the rest cascaded wildly down his back.

His arms were viciously toned, the muscle contours so sharp and deep they seemed to slice the air. His skin was pale and smooth—the palest Northern had ever seen.

The Chaos Prince stretched his arms, left then right. He looked at Northern and made a few awkward moves to flex his muscles, grinning proudly.

“Huh huh? How’s this look? What do you think? Makes a man’s mouth water, right?”

Northern’s face turned to stone.

’Who the hell is this guy?’

The Chaos Prince spread his legs in a perfect square stance, throwing his hands skyward.

“Haaaaa. Let’s go get that cannibal!”

Northern stared at him with a confused, incredulous expression.

’Is this fraud really the Chaos Prince?’

He shook his head.

’…he’s very… weird.’

He snapped out of it and slowly walked forward. The Chaos Prince quickly caught up.

“Oh, your friends, by the way—I made them lose their way.”

Northern frowned and glared at him.

“Hey hey hey, my friend, I didn’t do it to harm them. I wanted us to have more time together. It turned out to be a wise decision. I’d do it all over again to spend one more minute with you, Northern.”

He draped his hands around Northern’s shoulders, his crimson eyes sinking gently into Northern’s.

For a moment, Northern went blank.

Then he scowled.

“Get your face away from me or I’ll spit on it.”

The Chaos Prince immediately recoiled.

“Definitely not spit.”

Northern surveyed his surroundings.

“So… where are they?”

The Chaos Prince also scanned the sky before shrugging.

“I don’t know, friend. They could be anywhere.”

He gripped Northern’s waist and spoke gently.

“I’m sure they’re alright.”

Northern whipped his head around and fired a bullet of spit at vicious speed. But the Chaos Prince was already walking ahead, waving with a mischievous grin.

He licked his lips at Northern before turning forward.

“The fight between Ul and my father won’t last much longer. The Origin of Space is far weaker than in her glory days. We should wait until she’s defeated. I’m sure she’s cooking up some suicidal attack to take my father down. Even though it won’t destroy him, we can’t be picky about what we get now.”

Northern frowned viciously.

“What did you just say?”

The Chaos Prince looked at him, puzzled.

“We can’t be picky?”

“No. About the suicidal attack.”

“Ooh, that. Ul is a very devious Origin—she’s the oldest at this. I’m sure she’s preparing something truly wicked since she’s far weaker than in her prime.”

Northern’s eyes trembled slightly.

“Doesn’t that put the vessel she’s using at risk?”

Chaos Prince balanced on one leg and looked at Northern coyly.

“That’s a given. The vessel will bre—”

Northern blasted off with a tremendous torrent of wind and force before he could finish.

The Chaos Prince shielded his eyes and looked up.

“Wheeee… that was fast. I wonder if I can match that speed.”

He lowered his legs and sent cracks spiraling through the rocky ground. In an instant, his figure catapulted into the sky, tearing out massive stone slabs and leaving black and crimson sparks where he’d stood.

The tremendous sound of their takeoff attracted the enormous eagle-like bird that had been circling the sky in that area, searching for Northern.

Paragon Eli’s sharp eyes narrowed. Before they could vanish, he caught a glimpse of someone flying at terrific speed.

He released a screech that rumbled like thunder, then surged forward himself, slicing through the clouds with vicious speed.

Thalen leaned down.

“Finally found him?!”

Eli’s gaze sharpened lethally.

“I can’t be certain. But I saw something just now.”

Raven, Lynus, and Jeci soon noticed Eli’s changed direction and followed with blistering speed.

Northern flew at breakneck speed, watching the distance beneath him blur into imperceptible streaks.

Ahead stretched an expansive ridge that spread across the horizon—or seemed to, though it was actually blocking the view—with a body that felt like a moving mountain.

’What the hell… is that?’

Suddenly, a powerful force slammed him from the side, sending him careening out of the way.

Northern frowned and opened his hand to retaliate with a devastating attack, but froze mid-movement when he saw it was the Chaos Prince. Between them, a strange essence leaked from the sky.

The Chaos Prince looked up at the tear in the clouds with a dark expression.

“That thing is dangerous… Leviathans…”

He clicked his tongue in irritation before looking at Northern and flashing him a grin.

“Don’t mention it.”

Northern dismissed him and studied the leak.

“What the hell is this?”

The Chaos Prince gazed at the ridge.

“Monsters interact with the world in different ways. Some leave their marks and make people follow their legacy. This one is walking greatness.”

Northern furrowed his brows, feeling a chill.

“So… if that thing had touched me, I’d be following its legacy? Becoming a monster too?”

The Chaos Prince smiled widely, his eyes completely radiant.

“There’s no telling, but most likely.”

He laughed and scratched his head.

“Haaa… I don’t want you to become a monster, Northern. You’d be so difficult to handle. Let’s see—you’d most likely become a Titan? Or an Infernal? But you’re still a Sage, so I wonder if you’d become an Infernal…”

Northern stared away.

’Did this bastard even realize the decay around his body had been a walking Leviathan that was incredibly difficult to deal with?’
