I Break through Crazily
Chapter 303 - 302: To Handle an Important Matter
After comforting the three women, Tang Yi had them recount their experiences from the past few days. Upon hearing their story, his hatred for the disciples of the Heaven-Devouring Sect grew even more intense.
’A Sect like that is a disgrace to the Martial Arts Community! To think they’d try to abduct women and even chase them for days... they’re completely lawless!’
’And they were trying to steal my wo—... ahem, a servant counts as one of my women too!’
’Daring to touch my women? They must have a death wish!’
As for Mi Lu, the selfish woman who had once abandoned Xiao Bai, Tang Yi’s opinion of her had changed slightly after hearing Mu Xianling’s and Tang Shu’s accounts. He felt she wasn’t necessarily a bad person; perhaps she had only acted selfishly back then out of fear.
However, though his opinion had shifted, Tang Yi still had no intention of getting close to Mi Lu. He felt there was something about her he couldn’t quite figure out. In Tang Yi’s eyes, an inscrutable woman was more terrifying than a Battle Emperor Martial Artist.
After all, Tang Yi was a transmigrator from Earth, and he knew from personal experience just how terrifying the women there could be.
"Let’s go," Tang Yi said, waving to Mu Xianling and the other two.
"Where to?" Tang Shu asked, glancing at Tang Yi.
"To regroup with the main party," Tang Yi replied. "Sister Bai and Piaomiao are there too. Then, I’ll take all of you to hunt Demon Beasts and help you get into the West Mansion."
"It’s so great we found you, Brother Tang Yi! We can finally do the mission for the examination! But..."
Tang Shu hugged Tang Yi’s arm and said sweetly, "Brother Tang Yi, when you take us to hunt Demon Beasts, please don’t kill them for us. Just be there for backup. I want to kill them myself!"
"Alright, alright, my dear Shu’Er," Tang Yi agreed, ruffling Tang Shu’s hair with a nod.
"Let’s go! Time to regroup and kill some Demon Beasts!" Tang Shu cheered, skipping ahead.
’That little rascal.’
Tang Yi shook his head, a mix of fond exasperation and relief washing over him.
He was gratified to see Tang Shu back to her old self. When he’d seen her before, huddled in a corner and clinging fearfully to Mu Xianling and Mi Lu, his heart had ached terribly.
’How could he not feel distressed seeing a perfectly happy young girl scared into such a state?’
’It’s a relief that Tang Shu is fine now. If she had been traumatized by this, I would’ve dug up eighteen generations of Xiaofu and his cronies’ ancestors’ graves!’
(Xiaofu’s eighteen generations of ancestors: Thank goodness she’s okay, otherwise our graves would have been desecrated.)
"Tang Yi, there’s something I need to tell you."
Just as Tang Yi was lost in thought, Mu Xianling’s voice came from behind him.
"What is it?" Tang Yi asked, turning to face Mu Xianling.
"Um..." Mu Xianling began, "about those candidates from the West District who chased us for days. You said you killed all of them, but... weren’t you curious about how strong they were? A single one of them could wipe out a team of dozens of other candidates. Their power was extraordinary, definitely not something a normal candidate should have. I suspect they’re undercover agents from another faction who have infiltrated the West Mansion!" she conjectured.
Hearing this, Tang Yi gave Mu Xianling a surprised look. ’This woman is incredibly sharp,’ he thought. ’She figured it all out?’ He nodded and replied, "You’re right. They are indeed undercover agents."
"Ah!"
Mu Xianling was taken aback. She had only made a wild guess because those West District candidates seemed odd; she never expected to be right. ’But... how did Tang Yi know?’
As if sensing her confusion, Tang Yi explained before she could ask, "Right before coming to save you, I captured one of the West District candidates who had been hunting you. After some... convincing, he told me everything. Not only did he inform me that you were in danger, but he also revealed their objectives and some other confidential information."
"I see."
After hearing Tang Yi’s explanation, Mu Xianling understood. She then said, "Those people infiltrated the West Mansion with malicious intent. We absolutely cannot let their plot succeed."
As she said this, Mu Xianling clenched her teeth, her deep-seated hatred for the Heaven-Devouring Sect disciples who had infiltrated the West Mansion palpable. She wished they would all receive the harshest punishment.
This was understandable, though. These people had pursued Mu Xianling and the others for days, had tried to take liberties with them, and had forced them to flee without sleep or rest. It would be strange if they weren’t angry and resentful. Holding a grudge was only natural.
"They are indeed up to something," Tang Yi assured her with a nod. "But don’t worry. I already know their objective, and I won’t let them succeed."
"Then what’s your plan?" Mu Xianling asked curiously.
Tang Yi glanced at Mu Xianling and replied, "You don’t need to worry about that. I’ll make sure they get the lesson they deserve. After all, they provoked someone they never should have! For now, just focus on hunting Demon Beasts with Tang Shu and completing the West Mansion’s mission. Leave this business to me."
"Oh."
Hearing this, Mu Xianling could only nod and didn’t press the matter further.
...
「Time passed in a flash.」
After bringing Mu Xianling and the others back to the group, Tang Yi led the North District candidates on a fighting spree through the Little Extreme Sacred Land.
If they encountered Demon Beasts, they killed them. If they encountered candidates from the other Three Major Zones, they forced them to retreat. And if retreat was not an option, they killed them!
After a few days, their gains were immense.
Their team had not only expanded to one hundred and fifty people, but at least ninety of them had also met the mission requirement for the House Entrance Examination by obtaining ten or more Level 4 Demon Beast Crystals.
In Tang Yi’s team, the Demon Beast Crystals were originally distributed equally. However, this proved to be extremely unfair to certain candidates, and it risked a situation where no one would meet the mission requirements. Therefore, he changed the rule to distribution based on contribution.
Those who contributed more and were stronger received more Demon Beast Crystals. As for the weaker members, it was just tough luck.
Tang Yi’s role in the team had also shifted from being an active participant to a supervisor.
He no longer fought himself, instead focusing only on protecting the North District candidates and letting them handle the combat.
He would only intervene personally when they occasionally encountered a powerful Level 5 Demon Beast.
Of course, the Demon Beast Crystals from any Demon Beast that Tang Yi personally defeated belonged to him alone and were not shared. Everyone tacitly accepted this rule.
And so, time flew by. The group hunted Demon Beasts in an orderly manner until they reached the final day of the House Entrance Examination—the seventh day.
On this final day, however, Tang Yi vanished. No one knew where he went; they only heard that he had left to handle an important matter.
