Chapter 267 266: West District Examinees

The night was as black as ink. In the dense forests of the Little Extreme Sacred Land, three slender figures swiftly darted through the trees, heedless of the nighttime dangers.

The three figures were drenched in sweat, and their faces showed signs of extreme exhaustion. Even so, they gritted their teeth and pressed on, occasionally glancing back in terror as if something horrifying were chasing them.

These two West District examinees were named Shao Yushan and Jiao Zhiming. Both were men under Hex Anmin, the very same two Xiaofu had mentioned earlier.

"Hmph! You two despicable, shameless, lecherous scumbags! Give up right now! We will never give in! We would rather die than accept your 'protection'!"

Hearing the taunts from the two West District examinees, Mi Lu's face flushed crimson with rage.

'Once, she had been so high and mighty, adored by countless people. No one had ever dared to disrespect her. In the North District, she was an object of universal admiration, protected like a priceless treasure.'

'If it hadn't been for that crisis on the Void Warship, she wouldn't even know the meaning of hardship and danger!'

Besides, on a dark and windy night like this… what happens here stays here. The West Mansion's leadership will never know. In fact, wouldn't it be simpler to just kill you? Hahahaha!" Shao Yushan roared with laughter.

"Truly shameless scoundrels! Hmph! If our Brother Tang Yi finds out about this, you'll die without even a corpse to bury!"

The youngest of the group, Tang Shu, had a terrifyingly grim look on her little face. She could be cute and sweet, but once a battle started, she became incredibly serious and struck more ruthlessly than anyone else—and that was against enemies she had no quarrel with.

The two men chasing them made Tang Shu grind her teeth in fury. If she had the strength, the West District examinees behind them would have died ten thousand deaths by now!

"That's right! I… I belong to Tang Yi! If he finds out what you're doing, you'll die without a grave to your name! I'm warning you, you'd better stop chasing us. Then we can all pretend this never happened," Mu Xianling threatened.

It was meant to be a threat, but as she said she belonged to Tang Yi, Mu Xianling's face suddenly turned red for reasons she couldn't explain.

Mu Xianling risked a sidelong glance as she ran and saw both Tang Shu and Mi Lu staring at her in surprise.

This made Mu Xianling so embarrassed she wanted the ground to swallow her whole.

'A threat was just a threat, why did I have to mention belonging to Tang Yi!'

'I've really shot myself in the foot. This is so embarrassing.'

Worse yet, not only was it embarrassing, but to the two West District examinees, Mu Xianling's threat was a complete joke. It had no effect at all.

Tang Shu and Mi Lu also fell silent. They knew that trading insults was useless now; it would only give the two men more chances to verbally assault them.

The three women quickened their pace, fleeing for their lives into the pitch-black night.

Mu Xianling and the others knew all too well the fate that awaited them if they were caught.

Therefore, even though they had exhausted all their strength and their stamina was failing, they absolutely refused to stop.

"Heh heh, these women are really stubborn, lasting this long. Fine. If that's how it is, we'll stop holding back."

Shao Yushan sneered and exchanged a glance with Jiao Zhiming.

The two nodded in agreement. With a blur of movement, their speed suddenly doubled, and they shot after Mu Xianling and the others with incredible velocity.

Shao Yushan and Jiao Zhiming were already faster than the three women, but they had been slowly closing the gap, toying with them. Now, with their sudden burst of speed, it was as if they were propelled by rockets. In the blink of an eye, they were right behind them.

"Go on, ladies, run! Let's see how far you can get!" Now right behind them, Shao Yushan wore a triumphant smirk and let out a sinister chuckle.
