I Became the Villainess, But My Beast Husbands Can Hear My Mind?!
Chapter 376: It Was Just Dust in Her Eyes
Carla couldn’t even remember the last time she had cried, but in Roxanna’s embrace, she couldn’t help but pour out everything that was in her heart.
All the tears she had been holding back for so long finally came pouring out, like a river rushing forward after a dam had broken.
Roxanna held her breath when Carla suddenly tightened her arms around her, pulling her into an even tighter hug. However, Roxanna didn’t complain or try to pull away. She simply stayed there and let the ox beastwoman cry out all the sadness she had been carrying.
Even Luan, who had been standing nearby, quietly moved behind a tree to give Carla some privacy.
After a while, Carla finally pulled away from their embrace and wiped away the tears that were still running down her cheeks.
Roxanna gently patted her shoulder a few times before asking, "I don’t mind if you want to cry a little longer."
Carla’s expression immediately darkened. She scoffed and quickly said, "Cry? What are you talking about? I didn’t cry at all!"
"But you—"
"I didn’t cry!" Carla shouted.
Her eyes were still red, and there were even tears gathered in them, but from the look on her face, it seemed she would rather die than admit that she had just cried her heart out.
Seeing this, Roxanna decided it was probably better to play along. "I know, I know. Carla didn’t cry."
A small smile appeared on Roxanna’s face as she spoke to her in a gentle voice. "Some dust just got into your eyes earlier."
She stayed with Carla for a little while longer, giving her enough time to calm down before finally asking, "So, Carla, what do you think? Do you want to join the Vixeria Tribe?"
Roxanna smiled sweetly and tilted her head to the side as she waited for Carla’s answer.
Carla chuckled as she wiped the last traces of tears from her cheeks. "Of course we want to join your tribe!"
A moment later, she pulled herself together and puffed out her chest, slowly returning to the strong Carla that Roxanna was used to seeing. "I’ll tell the others about the news, but I’m sure they’ll be thrilled!"
"Take your time," Roxanna reassured her. "If some of you end up disagreeing, I won’t force anyone to join."
Although Roxanna didn’t say what would happen if they refused, both of them already understood that if the Sky Tribe didn’t officially become part of the Vixeria Tribe, they wouldn’t be able to live permanently in the Vixeria Settlement.
"It won’t be that hard to convince them." Carla chuckled. "Alright, then. Once I’m done talking to everyone, I’ll come back and help you and the others look for materials to make the paint."
Roxanna nodded and then waved at Carla as she walked away.
Not long after Carla left, Luan walked over to Roxanna. He leaned closer to her and asked eagerly, "My wife, what color do you want to paint our hut?"
Roxanna blinked several times, and her fox ears twitched slightly. [He isn’t going to ask anything about Carla and her tribe?]
Roxanna hadn’t actually talked about this with any of her husbands yet. However, she had hinted a few times that she wanted Carla and the others to stay in the Vixeria Settlement for a long time.
It seemed that all of her husbands had already guessed that sooner or later, Roxanna would invite the Sky Tribe to officially join them. That was probably why none of them seemed surprised by what had just happened.
After thinking for a while, Roxanna finally answered, "I honestly still don’t know."
[If I were choosing based on my favorite color, I’d definitely choose pink, but—]
"Pink, then," Luan suddenly said.
Roxanna’s eyes widened. "Ah! I was only thinking about it!" She puffed up her cheeks before adding, "B-Besides, since all of us are going to live in the hut together, it doesn’t seem fair if I’m the only one who gets to choose my favorite color."
[What if one of them hates pink and ends up not wanting to come home because of it?]
"Then I’ll have fewer rivals fighting for your attention," Luan replied without a hint of concern.
"Stop reading my mind all the time!" Roxanna complained, her cheeks puffing up even more.
At this point, she was starting to think that maybe it would have been better if she had never found out that her husbands could hear her thoughts in the first place.
Luan, on the other hand, only chuckled without looking guilty in the slightest. "But seriously, I don’t think anyone is going to complain about the color. If they don’t like it, they can just leave the house."
Roxanna took a deep breath and stared at him in disbelief. "Luan, we can’t just kick someone out of our home because they don’t like something."
Luan frowned slightly, clearly not too happy with that answer. To him, thinking about everyone’s likes and dislikes only made things more complicated than they needed to be.
Seeing his expression, Roxanna thought for a moment before coming up with another idea. "How about we just choose a neutral color instead?"
Luan tilted his head. "Neutral color?"
"Yeah." Roxanna nodded. "Something like white, cream, beige, light brown, or maybe gray. Those colors are simple, so I don’t think anyone would hate them."
Luan thought about it for a moment before looking toward their hut. He still didn’t seem to understand why choosing a color had to be this complicated, but since Roxanna seemed serious about it, he continued listening.
"The good thing about neutral colors is that they can match almost anything," Roxanna explained. "So even if we choose a simple color for the hut, it doesn’t mean everything inside has to look boring."
She began counting on her fingers as she continued, "We can add other colors through our own things. Blankets, pillows, baskets, flowers, decorations, or anything else we have. Everyone can bring in something they like."
Her eyes brightened as she imagined it. "That way, the hut can still have lots of different colors without any one color taking over everything. If I want pink, I can have some pink things. If you like another color, you can add that too."
Luan stared at her for a few seconds before saying, "Alright, that sounds like a good idea. Where can we find the materials to make neutral colors? I think I saw some kind of rocks in the book."
